Hope your appointment goes ok and the traffic ivyleaf.

Good luck thoughts for Miss Nutty. Hope your mum is better today nutty.

Well school was fun, it's the nursery class I help in now. They had a tiny class of about 10 children but this term the numbers have doubled so I wasn't expecting it to be so busy. I was asked to keep a special eye on a couple of new kids but other children latched on to me so it was hectic. They had some rice out to play with (instead of sand) today and the whole room was covered so before I left I swept until I thought my arms would drop off.

Its just gone very dark and spooky here. Had planned to whizz to supermarket on way to school but will have a 2nd cuppa and then do a few chores instead. Ah yes the rain is coming down very heavily as I type. Shopping can wait until tomorrow when I have more time.

Hospital appt went fine thanks :D Looks like I'm menopausal at long last!

    SQ Glad it went well.

nuttyp I hope DD got on well at her interview, it must have been nerve-wracking for her.

Just been looking at the local weather forecast, tomorrow night and Thursday doesn't look good at all  Wish i hadn't looked now! Unfortunately DD2 will have no choice but to go out in it as she's a nurse.

    Welcome to the club ivyleaf!
softstuff, have you heard any more?

Well, it has certainly snowed here, not too bad first thing but just as I left for work there was the biggest hail storm I have ever seen, the place was white in a few minutes. It then snowed for a couple of hours, the children got all excited but after a shower of rain the sun shone! It has since snowed very heavily and I think there is much more to come.

Hoping you all stay safe and warm.

I bet you won't after a couple of days Pooky. I just sent DS for the coffee I forgot last night he complained "oh it had to snow while I was out." I gave no sympathy as he did not go in his mac!

Well it is 3 months since I bought him that mac. Still has not worn it. It's perfectly true what they say about Manchester.

Not sure if it's appropriate to say congratulations? :o

Camelot, we've got building and pest inspection today, so that'll highlight anything really bad. We've filled out and sent off all the conveyancing forms (65 pages ) and mortgage application forms. So after today I'm guessing it'll just be a tense wait. I've not slept properly for over a week, I'm eating oddly and taking berocca to prop me up!

NuttyP, hope DDs interview went well.

softstuff - I think congrats are definitely in order - I'm 61 and been waiting for it for a loooong time! Thank you, I'm a happy (if occasionally overheated) bunny.

I would have happily traded my sterilisation for menopause :rotfl: I have thermostat issues anyway, what's a bit more flushing!

Well.... NEWS! We had the building and pest inspection. The chap was very thorough, we went with him. At the end he took us round and showed us the issues, explaining them with serious gravity.... a cracked tile.... a bit of silicon missing in the shower... a leaky valve to be replaced. All in all, for a house built in 1983, stonking condition! Damned lucky the termites aren't living in it though, given it hasn't been treated since it was built and it's next to state forest.

We get home and there's an email from the mortgage broker.... we're conditionally approved. I can't quite describe how I feel. Still trying not to be emotionally attached in case anything goes wrong, but there isn't really anything left *to* go wrong. Utterly stunned. And a little queasy.
