Been to Aldi tonight was empty, apart from 5 men, including the manager, frantically filling shelves. We did have to look for a lot of things on trollies.

9 big balls of yarn fell in my trolly. That should keep me going for a few weeks. I thought I had spent a lot, £124 but I think I will only need bread milk and fresh veg for at least the next 5 weeks.

    Hello OSers,
I am having a quick coffee and choccy croissant left over from kids' special breakfast treat trying to steady my nerves. I am back at school volunteering for first time in about 18 months. The staff there are lovely - I know one well and I love the kids but still feel anxious not knowing this group of children yet and feel like the new kid at school this morning! I also want to start back at the gym this week but one step at a time eh?

Hope everyone is ok today, sending hugs out. Back later to see how you all are x

May sound odd, but try a one-a-day antihistamine for a while...they work for me. Or a supermarket nasal spray which opens the nasal passages. My DH swears by a nightly dose of Beconase at bedtime for his nose as it stops his snuffles & snores ;)

Thanks floss, but he's already taking antihistamines. He had lowered the dose to one every other day as it's not the hayfever season, but he's now back to taking one every day, but needs a steroid spray as well. I persuaded him to try one last summer but he was very reluctant as he "doesn't like the idea of putting stuff up his nose"! Oh well, no danger of him sniffing coke then! :D I'll remind him to buy a spray today. Thanks for caring x

We have a bus strike here today and I have a hospital appointment this afternoon :( It's only a follow-up appointment, and OH can take me in the car, but is unlikely to be able to park when we get there so will have to come home again and wait for me to ring to say I'm ready to be collected!

I dread to think what the main road is like atm, as loads of cars are coming down our narrow street to avoid it.

ETA Sheila, just read your post. OH is lucky, his breathing only stops 8 times per hour and the doc says he doesn't need a machine but could try one if he likes. Of course he'd rather not! the consultant suggested trying a mouth guard for the snoring, but he'll need to wait a while as he's had some dental implants and is waiting to have the crowns put on.

    Maggie - happy knitting :)

Hope all went well and you enjoyed your time at school :)

Good luck with your first day at school SQ ;) Bet you have a lovely time.

Hubby was driving home this evening and noticed a sign on the side of the road "Have you checked your tyres lately?". It struck him as almost a threat rather than a safety message :rotfl:

Morning everyone, had a manic day yesterday. first went to work for 715 and found out I was in at 3pm, then took DD to the bus stop and she had forgotten her money, took her to collage and came back to find my mum seriously not well and ended up staying at the hospital until 2pm and then went to work until 1030pm. Few..... what a day.
Mum is a lot better today, she has angina and every so often it flares up.

Today youngest DD has her interview at 1230 with a panel of teachers at the local academy, please can every one keep there fingers and toes crossed for her. She is soooo nervous.

Well time to go and do some housework, take care everyone x
