Is anyone in the Lincolnshire area on here???
Hi Nutty, I herald from Spalding originally, but have now moved further north but still in Lincs
Haven't read everything as yet, so sending hugs to anyone who needs themMy self & hubby; 2 sons (30 & 26). Hubby also a found daughter (37).
Eldest son has his own house with partner & her 2 children (11 & 10)
Youngest son & fiancé now have own house.
So we’re empty nesters.
Daughter married with 3 boys (12, 9 & 5).
My mother always served up leftovers we never knew what the original meal was. - Tracey Ulman0 -

I want a proper winter before we have Spring!! (I shall sulk if we don't)
Evening all
Hugs to all in need, I've been reading where I can but just haven't had time to post.
Life bumbles along here, some testing times with DD1 - but it'll pass.
Been trying (and succeeding) to not spend anything unnecessary and the grocery spends are nice and low at the moment. Been really good with the heating and having lots of fires with the free wood we have, went out today to cut more wood and managed to blow up my circular saw!!!! Can't afford to replace it but can't afford not to as there's so much wood that still needs cutting. Will have to do some research into a replacement. It's not fixable (the lovely sparks and smoke proved that) and DH has already had it in bits and salvaged anything useful.
Just had a lovely roast for tea, was only a tiny chicken, we've eaten well from it and the carcass has been stripped for the cats. The bones are in the SC for stock. There was enough meat for another meal but the cats will enjoy it just as much as us and chopped up small and sprinkled on the food they're not so keen on is far more cost effective (chicken sprinkles make the blandest of food palatable to my fussy moggies."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. Ginnyknit....Sorry to hear of your families situation right now, hope things turn round for you all......
Monnagran I hope you have a nice weeks break, it will do you good.....
Ive cut my grass today  yep I have , because I was laid up early October with the first foot op I wasnt able to give the grass the last cut of the year , so today I woke up feeling quite alive so after mucking the hens out , out come the mower , it did need doing plus one reason I gave it a cut was to pick up all the autumn leaves as well, plus the hens enjoyed the grass cuttings.....Had a sweep up and washed all the bird feeders and refilled them all.......
Had 3 hours outside and loved every minute of it........
Been very cold wind here today and watery sunshine and lovely and dry , I love these sort of winter days , and the nights are slowly pulling out ....
Pooky...Yes sounds like you will have to sort the new saw out, im same boat as you I get all my firewood free , I just have to cut it and cart it , my son as got a new petrol chainsaw and that soon rips through the wood.........Like you I dont use the heating as much cos I light the fire in the one room of a night and I keep warm without heating the whole of the bungalow........I dont heat my bedroom as I like it cold and with the window open all night, the colder the better , I love breathing cold frosty air in me when im snuggled under my duvet, cant sleep shut up.......
Fuddle....Your roast sounds so yummy , probaly cos I only had jacket tater and salad tonight......
Kidcat......Hope you feel better soon....
Softstuff.....I hope everything goes well for you.....
I will catch you all later , SheilaMy motto is " one life live it ".....:)0 -
Lovely to hear you have had a good day Sheila, I can understand your frustration at being stuck in doors.
I woke up today determined to feel good after such trying week and despite the worlds attempts at keeping me down I will not give in to misery. Hope this isnt pride going before etc - is there a cross your fingers smiley?
Freezers are nearly empty but Sainsbugies sent me some vouchers for money off and 6p off petrol so will be heading there to re-fill the freezers neatly :rotfl:Clearing the junk to travel light
Saving every single penny.
I will get my caravan0 -
Evening all
Picked DH up this afternoon after he had had chance to say his goodbyes and support his brother and we got the call as we were putting the kids to bed to say that MIL had passed away peacefully while BIL and SIL were with her. DH is naturally in bits - but it is very clear to me that she chose her time and then gave up trying to stay alive - she waited until she had seen everyone that she wanted to see, she told DH that he ought to go back home and look after his family, she sorted what needed sorting, apparently wrote a plan of what she wanted on her tablet then once she knew DH was back up here she slipped away.
Thank you all for your love, prayers, well wishes, thoughts etc - it has been very much appreciated and has made a difficult time a little easier. Love to all of you - Helen X0 -
Sorry to her this stilty - at least your DH got to spend some time with her first thoughMust use my stash up!0

Hugs stiltwalker to you all. My uncle did the same, waited for his son to arrive then let go. She probably wanted to know he was safe back with you all.0

Sometimes that's the best way for someone to go Stilty, so their family don't see them - my mum & dad both did the same, waited till they'd seen / heard everyone and then died.
Hugs to you all.
