Morning - stiltwalker so sorry for the news. It is at times of need you really discover who is your true real friends and who the ones are that just use you.

Well OH new job has gone really well for the first day. They only had 10 drops and 5 collections. He said its a different type of delivery as they are bulk amounts, eg 20 or more boxes to each stop. Today he has 69 little drops but they are sending out cover later on as they don't think they will get them all done. He said they men there are all friendly and he is the only ex CL driver to have got a job.

Sunday we had a trip out we ended up at meadowhall shopping centre. OH bought me a pair of boots from evans, and a new coat from wallis. All were seriously reduced in the sales. I would not of bought them at the full price that is for sure.

Tomorrow puppy is at the vets, he is being snipped if that makes sense. Maybe he will calm down a bit, he tried to hump my arm while I was eating my breakfast today!!!

    Hello everyone xxx

Stiltwalker I am so sorry to hear your news. I'm in Leicester and the more the merrier as far as I am concerned. So if your DH needs to break up the journey he is more than welcome to a bed and a meal here. I was thinking of you on Saturday when we went to our local Gelato place and how much Miss Stiltwalker would love it. I'm in no doubt that she would charm them as well. ((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))

nuttyp I am so glad that your DH's new job is working out so well. Long may it last xxx

camelot1001 You did a good thing, don't you dare take the words of that interfering so and so to heart. So what if man spends it on booze. It's your money and yours to do with as you wish. I bet that the man you helped was grateful for it and that is what matters (((((((hugs)))))))

I hope you are feeling better this morning kezlou and that things go well at court today xxx

Well the New Year is here and we are considerably poorer. That's what happens when you give birth to both DS's in January and your DS2 is a real foodie. DS1 isn't going to here for his birthday as he goes back to Uni on Saturday. So we counted the birthday celebrations for both of them.

The top element on my oven has given up the ghost so I'm trying to work out meals I can cook on the hob that everyone will eat. It also means that DS1 is missing out on mince pies and banana cake. So if the new part isn't here soon I will have take over a friend's kitchen for a few hours. I brought 24 jars of mincemeat in Sainsburys at the weekend, so that shows how serious Ds1 is about his mince pies. Also at 30p a jar I was going to stock up for next Chr*stmas. DH thinks I'm mad.

I think DS1 might be surfacing, so I will say goodbye for now and see if he requires coffee that in my opinion is more like rocket fuel, but he seems to like it.

    Much love to everyone xxxx

    Afternoon all,

(((((((((((((stiltwalker and family)))))))))) sending my best hugs and thinking of you all. Hope you get the results asap, so stressful waiting.

As to friends... well I would say concentrate on the true friends you do have and the fair weather ones can go away (and that's the polite version. ;)) The circle of people who really care about me may be small now but they are worth a million of the other so called friends who I hardly bother with at all these days. The uncaring and unthoughtful nature of those people you mentioned is all about them and nothing about you. You have more than enough on your plate to be getting upset about them, sorry but they don't sound worth it.

Nursemaggie - you have nothing AT ALL to feel bad about, you are such a caring person and we all know that.

Kez, I don't know how you cope, I really don't. Hoping your wrist heals soon.

My little wobble didn't go away yesterday but grew bigger as the day wore on and I ended up in a bit of a state both emotionally and physically. Just about managed to collect the children with lots of deep breathing on the drive back. Dec/Jan is the hardest time of the year for me and all over Christmas I thought I was doing well but I guess I was just avoiding certain feelings and basically hibernated. Took myself to bed as soon as DH walked in the door at 7.40pm and stayed there til 6.40 this morning.
Feeling a lot better today. I am being kind to myself, eating properly (and slowly!), having a chill out now and then plodding on with things. Another early night tonight and my to do list has been temporarily pared right down. Its up to me to look after myself so I have my very sensible hat on and listening to the advice I happily dole out to others. :) Hope you don't mind me rambling on, just need to talk, helps so much. Ok lunchbreak nearly over and will tackle the dishes mound and tidy up before school run. Maybe 10 mins chill on the bed with my book before I leave the house too.
  • So sorry to hear your sad news stiltwalker. I'll keep you all in my prayers.

SQ - You are doing the right thing - be kind to yourself. - hugs.

SDG - Haha - My DS1's birthday is today and DS2 next Wednesday. They are a year & a week apart!!! (DS2 was 6 weeks prem) Was fun & games when they were babes & like you 2 birthdays hot on te heels of Christmas - we didn't time that right did we. DS1 worked out he was conceived on April Fools Day (strange child, but he was born on 12th night & I always said he was a changeling) In my defence I really dont remember...............:o

Hugs stiltwalker, and much love to you and yours. You too, sq - this is a tough time of year all round, I reckon. Things generally seem a bit better when the Spring has sprung. xxxx

My DS1 was a surprise and was due on January 4th. However he decided it was too cold to come out and hung on with his toenails. He was delivered by C-Section on Jan 14th
DS2 on the other hand was conceived after 9 months of trying. He was due on Jan 28th and turned up on 3rd Jan after 4 1/2 hours of labour.
There is 3 years minus 11 days between them and DS2 met the family and friends and DS1's third birthday party.
My MIL did tell me that I wouldn't get pregnant with DS2 until the same time of year I got pregnant with DS1. I guess she was right.

I think my tumble drier has given up the ghost. I tried to dry DS1's dressing gown on the gentle setting and had to stop the cycle when the smell of burning hit me. To quote Paula Yates "Having a broken appliance can send you over the precipice into madness" I'm half way there already, so who knows if this will be the last straw. I'll just be sitting in the corner knitting and whimpering to myself.

With a quivering bottom lip SDG!

My DS1 decided he wanted to stay where he was too - I ended up with a forceps delivery under general anaesthetic! DS2 was so quick I think he came out on the tide!
    Enjoy their birthdays :)

Stilty, much love and hugs, not much else to say.

I have to agree with the comments about disbalities not being understood and its making me quite angry how my Dd and Dgs are treated by her friends. Some people have littlies who occasionally dont sleep and its always just before a busy day, Dd has had little sleep for 4 years and works part time - she is on automatic pilot most days but still finds energy to help me and her friends yet gets treated very shabbily in return.

Had my mammogram today, glad its done but bloomin heck I was pushed, shoved and squashed until I burst into tears - last straw I think. Just got to get Hubs to his spine injection tomorrow and then we are going to hibernate. The lady who did it today said if I dont want the endoscope doing next week I should cancel, I have no problems and its just for a survey so I really dont feel upto it and dont know how I will get there anyway - 3 buses after an enema anyone?

(((HUGS))) ginnyknit, if you're not having any problems i can't see any harm in postponing the endoscopy until you feel you can psych your self up to it. Enough is enough! x
