Oh stiltwalker what a horrible situation for you all. Can't offer much support apart from massive hugs and a shoulder to cry on. If I lived near you I would happily come and give you hugs and help.

Kezlou, hope you are feeling a little better today, hugs to anyone else not feeling so good.

Went to local shops yesterday in search of parcel tape to return DS2s Asos order and there was a gent outside, shabbily dressed with a bag at his side asking for any spare change. I only had 80p in change, handed it over and a passer by gave me terrible abuse for encouraging the chap to drink. Now, I'm not sure of the mans circumstances but to be standing out looking like he did in the cold certainly doesn't mean he's doing it for fun. Felt quite deflated when I got home.

Oh Stilty I'm so sorry. Horrible situation all round. Does FIL have other family down south?
  • STILTWALKER Helen love, it's hard dealing with the things life throws your way whatever your situation is whatever your mood is when you hear the upsetting news. We were in Germany when my dad was diagnosed with lung cancer and could only fly back occasionally to see him as I was homeschooling my youngest DD. We did what we could just as you and your DH will do what you are able within the confines of your standing commitments with your lovely little family. It'd harder in the diagnostic stage as you don't actually know what you are going to be called to cope with, slightly easier once the diagnosis has been made and you can have some idea of treatment and timescale for it. You're a strong little unit and will support each other fully and you WILL cope with whatever this difficult situation is and in the meantime WE are always here for you to listen, support and send you strength and caring and just be with you through this. All of us will hold you all in our hearts and minds and whenever there is angst, know we'll be here and caring 100% of the time. Love and hugs Lyn xxx.

Thank you - everyone - you are all so kind and supportive - X

Kez - that's a good idea, I do know about social stories but had forgotten about it IFKWIM! We have Clicker 6 so can probably build something on that.

Nursemaggie - don't feel bad lovey, just glad your year going well - X

Pooky - what a lovely offer, but Oxfordshire so not your neck of the woods, thank you for thinking of him though.

Possession - DH's brother and his family are just round the corner so are handy - just that their house is not mobility impaired friendly (to say the least - open half spiral staircase anyone? and open plan so nowhere for a downstairs bedroom) so FIL wouldn't be safe staying there hence the care worries.

On pins really waiting for news from this mornings test.

    Once again - thanks all - X
