Thanks boultdj thats a really big help thank you
I'll check with the nurse, she tested his urine and took blood last week and they were normal. But she did say to watch as his confusion has increased over the past four months.
Its a relief because although he won't tell any of his he will tell health professionals so its a massive weight off my shoulders to have an extra pair of eyes watching over him.
Taxi called and booked for ds2 so thats one less thing to worry about.0 -
Happy to help Kezlou, with 21+ years working in a nurseing home I can tell you, when it comes to water infection', it can be as little as 8 hours for confusion to set in, so the soon a check is done the sooner the better.£71.93/ £180.000

My grandma was exactly like that when she had a urine infection. Scary how much it can change them. Hope he improves soon Kez, it's very hard isn't it.0
-
Its is scary, hopefully he'll be alright soon and it will have been lack of sleep etc
When my OH gets home we'll probably pop over and see him just to make sure.
We speak to each other countless times a day via phone and visit each other at least 3 / 4 times a week so hes never really on his own.
Just me being a worrier0 -
Mardatha I went GF at the beginning of this year to see if it helped with my colitis. It certainly did improve things, and I have lost a stone in weight through not picking at cakes and biscuits at work. I have also gone nearly dairy free, still have milk in hot drinks but use rice or almond milk on cereals and dairyfree cream and custard in desserts. I have also started getting lactose-free cheese, and I am not quite so phlegm-y as I used to be!One life - your life - live it!0
-
I found a big difference when I went onto Lactofree milk, as I drink a lot of tea with a lot of milk in it. I tried the GF bread and cakes because I can't eat normal bread or cake and it works for me. LOL Nargleblast the way things are going here I'll put on a stone instead of taking it off!0

Mar, for 3 months now I have been GF. I had a light bulb moment because I was fed up with always having stomach ache, and originally put it down to the Metformin I take for the diabetes.
I know I ate too much bread anyway, but now I eat GF bread and the stomach ache has gone and I feel so much better.
I know I am not coeliac, but I am sure I have an intolerance to wheat and gluten, and having eliminated these from some of the foods I eat seems to have made an enormous difference.
I am so pleased you feel better for it as well

Thank you all for your support. The meeting went well, school admitted the situation was their fault, starting with staff absence and then exacerbated by miscommunication. They have agreed a new plan and have got ask the staff in board.
He will return to school Monday and we will go from there, all I need now is him to agree to at least try.
I now have a massive migraine and am ready to collapse into bed, unfortunately that's a long way away for me, DS10 hasn't slept in days so I am not expecting any better tonight. Am looking forward to tomorrow, with both Littlies off and Dd20 not in uni until 2, there is only DS16 with an early start and packed lunch so it's going to be a less hurried day. OH is supposed to be off too but that remains to be seen.0 -
Hi all,
Firstly I want to say thanks to all of you for your thoughts and kind words over the past few weeks/days.
My head was getting more confused and full as was dh's. I think the shock of seeing DH breakdown and the realisation that I was then on my own dealing with everything at work got to me.
I've only just had the chance to get on here to update you all - apologies! I've been working all day for the past few days.
We had our boss here yesterday with a manager from another pub who we know very well. The other manager will take over the day to day running of the pub whilst DH is off sick.
Also, our boss has basically told the other managers in our area that they need to send help to cover shifts that we are short staffed. We have always gone out of our way to help others yet they will never reciprocate! Our boss is lovely, no judgement and just cares that we are ok. He has said that he won't accept my resignation, though it is left to me to work what I want to with no pressure. So I'm covering a few lunch time shifts next week.
I am definitely glad that I've handed over to the other manager now though. I can breath a sigh of relief! I've finally had a bath, the first chance I've had since Sunday night 😨 I might also get to eat a proper meal, the first for a few weeks!
The stress has got to me and my neck/shoulders are stiff and sore. Now to try and unwind and work out what we are doing with our future!
Huge thanks to you all, you've really been a comfort and thank you for the advice re housing, I will look into it when my head is a bit better.0 -
Evening all
Mrs D - I'm glad you have some respite from the situation for now - I hope it helps both you and DH get yourselves back on track.
Regarding indigestion - I suffer if I eat yeast or have too much dairy - your body is great at telling you when it's not coping with something - just a shame we refuse to listen sometimes. I rarely have bread at all now and try and avoid anything with yeast extract (after growing up with marmite on toast as a staple part of my diet I can only assume I've had my fair share). I find breakfasts really hard as I need to eat within 10 minutes of getting up or I feel queasy all day. Toast or cereal was an easy option but not any more - I try to avoid soya products as I know they can cause hormone issues and I have enough of those with PCOS.
Fuddle - thanks for the remarks about my dresser - I was pleased with it's festive feel.
Tree will be going up this evening - the first year since the girls have been old enough to help, that they won't be helping - DD1 is at work and said she'd love to come home and see it up....DD2 gets over emotional and has spent the past 5 years sobbing whilst putting on decorations - she can't explain why but she's sitting this year out....bless her. The end of an era. DD2 is off to help run the village youth club so it will just be DH and I - I've put a bottle of bubbly in the fridge (£1.70 a bottle in France!! no expense spared eh?) and will do some nibbles for us to pick at......new traditions time
