I am so pleased to read that Docky is able to get a little peace with himself Lyn, and that you can go about your life without worrying too much. I know he would have kept creeping back into your mind throughout your time out though Lyn ;)

I have spent the last day and a half camping out in works office  I figured I would be better there amongst friends than stewing on my own. I am doing alright now though so left and bought few Lidly bits. Home now, housework to face and lasagne to prepare for tonight. Lots still happening up North but it tends to be a case of drip feeding people's take on things rather than facts. I don't really know what is happening to be fair. Although I will share that I was emailed the court document for the bailiff/recovering of debt from my sister. It is for me to sort as it's my forte, apparently. Both sister and mam were told that I would not be sorting any of it out as I had to sort my mess, alone and without any support from them and that I wasn't prepared to visit old ghosts. Mam was fine (didn't care I don't think) my sister was furious. I can see where she is coming from but I don't really care. Looking after myself here... and I won't be told what to do

    Afternoon everyone :)

fuddle You stick to your guns and do what you are happy with. At the end of the day, you, your DH and your girls come first and anyone who doesn't understand that should get knotted. So there

I'm glad that Docky seems more settled MrsLurcherwalker

I hope that the shopping has gone well savingqueen and that you all have a more settled and restful night.

ivyleaf I agree with your assessment of the school and the problems poor kidcat is having to deal with. I hope that things improve quickly kidcat and that your DS is feeling better xxx

This morning I went to a free card making session at the local library, which was fun. My DMIL makes cards, but much more decoupage based than the ones I made today. I got DMIL a bargain load of card making stuff as a Christmas present and I'm having to stop myself from raiding it to make some more. DH would have a fit if I started another craft based hobby.
I'll just have to wait until we visit my PIL and then DMIL is happy for me to card make to my hearts content.
I should be knitting the lace scarf I'm making my friend for Chr*stmas, but it's hard going compared to knit 1, purl 1. I'm not used to having to concentrate so hard with a pair of needles in my hand. Thankfully the mistakes blend in to the pattern, or I would be in trouble.

I think that we will have tacos for dinner tonight, nice and easy and everyone can assemble their own. So not as much work for me :D

Much love and hugs to everyone xxx

fuddle you have some quiet time with a candle and concentrate your mind on building that invisible protective bubble around yourself. A bubble that will not let the poison arrows penetrate. Turn on some lovely relaxing music and clear your mind. You know that you don`t deserve any of this and others are trying to drain your energy. The bubble of light will protect you

Fuddle a supermarket shop sounds like a lovely sensible idea snd at least you know she has food in the house. You have done more than enough and should stop worrying but it's easier said than done I know.

I also have reflux due to long term use of anti-inflammatories. I don't need those meds since I had the knee replacements at least. I was on omeprazole and stopped it because I seemed better, but since I've been eating not so healthily recently it has got worse again. Definitely for me, the key is to eat healthily.
Good news for us from old George, the new stamp duty thresholds will save us a very nice amount. On the other hand, preschool woman hasn't paid me for my 4 days of work and am not sure what to threaten her with.

Thanks everyone. The indigestion is a very rare occurrence (months apart) but I will think about going to GP. My friend who has gallstones reckons I have the same. Actually I am far more worried about DH who has had indigestion very regularly for years, although it has got a bit better as he has cut down on the worst offending food and alcohol. .

My only health problem is gerd associated with heartburn but it is nasty when it gets going, I know when I get it because there is a lump in the throat and coughing during the night and a sore throat in the morning. Last time it was set off was because I took ibuprofen just twice. Now I am making an all out effort to change my (already good) eating habits and I really must lose weight now, no second chances at my age

I now sleep on a wedge and it is very good. I have my drink 30 minutes before a meal and do not drink with my meal, until 45 minutes afterwards. I eat mostly alkaline food (lots of lists on vegan sites), I make soup as recommended on this thread
    http://www.patient.co.uk/forums/discuss/feeling-hopeless-about-acid-reflux-what-next--124195

I eat much smaller meals but twice as many meals. I have one mug of tea a day and mostly drink water with lemon in it

I ordered a book called `dropping acid` by jamie koufman

So far it is working, I didn`t take gaviscon last night and I slept through with no sore throat on waking. There are consequences if acid comes up for example scarring of the oesophagus which leads to narrowing and that is only for starters

Bit by bit I am adding foods to see if they give me that acid feeling, I am aware of my oesophagus in that I can feel my food go down and I know when there is a tender spot. Slippery elm helped a lot, it is like a bandage while healing takes place

So far, creme fraiche was no good as were an unripe banana and beef. The good guys for me have been lettuce, cucumber, watermelon, lemon in water, soup made with sweet potato and other alkaline veg

I am not kidding about second chances btw

Good news for us from old George, the new stamp duty thresholds will save us a very nice amount. On the other hand, preschool woman hasn't paid me for my 4 days of work and am not sure what to threaten her with.

I would write a letter requesting payment, stating the hours worked and including copies of all correspondence with her about it including any texts (though I'm not sure how to attach them) and copy it to the committee/directors of the preschool (or is she the sole owner?) and to your local early years people at your local authority. On the basis that they've paid the preschool the funding for the children getting free childcare there, so have provided the money she would have been using to pay you, and if she's not paying you, there may be other misuses of the money. (Says the sad voice of experience.)

If you don't want to start off so heavy, you could do the letter as above, requesting payment by an sensible date (next Friday? Gives her time to get 2 signatories on a cheque if that's what's needed) before you escalate it.

But as I'm guessing she hasn't given you a courtesy call of 'sorry not to have got you on the payroll for Nov, you'll be paid in December and get your P45 showing you're no longer employed with us then' or 'sorry it's taking so long to get you a cheque for the hours you did, I'm finding it hard to get the signatories in to sign it as their children are off sick', I'd go the heavy route now.
