Mrs L - so glad to hear that Docky isn't suffering any pain & hope the meds will kick in - he's so lucky to have such caring owners in his 'twilight' years.
Fuddle - If i remember rightly you're down in the West Country now? Clarks have their outlet shop in Yeovil & there are/were some other shoe shops in their high street that sold shoes at good prices too.
Mrs D - can't offer any practical help only the thought that 'this too shall pass' - big hugsSmall victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -
Morning all, what a cold wet and windy ones today is. Its a real turn in the weather. Buddies is curled up on the sofa next to me, he isn't keen for a walk either.
Took mum to @ldi this morning, managed to do all the weeks shopping for under £38 so that's a pleasant change. There is some nice bits in the Christmas book. Not sure if we will be buying much extra for the festive period. I need to loose some weight and I know my next visit to the nurse it will come up in conversation. I am about 14 stone and should be around 9. Time to own up and do something about it.
My next day off is a week on Saturday, and I cant wait. I have started looking for another job, preferably in the daytime and no more than 30 hours a week. I cant just leave, but I am now trying very hard.
Take care all and hope the poorlys and dockie are feeling better xBSC member 137

I'm not supposed to be here. I am officially writing a letter!
MrsD. Am sending you all sorts of loving thoughts and tossing a virtual bouquet in your direction. You deserve it...sometimes the silver lining can't be found anywhere, can it? Just sit tight my love. As someone else has said - 'all things pass, even this.'
NuttyP: Good luck with the job search, not being happy at work is just the most awful feeling. You and I both on the weight situation. I do very well for a few days and then have to go out and be force fed all sorts of naughty fattening treats. Sigh...........
Gosh, look at the time. Ham and cheese pasta bake for lunch and it's still sitting on the kichen side. Woops!!!!!

Hi all.
I know I haven't posted for a while but I really am struggling with all things computerised. I think it's a problem with my browser or it could just be my computer's that old the hamster died. I've popped stuff on my blog but now that is playing up to
I have been reading though so huge hugs to those in need x
I've got so much going on at the moment, DS has got to that dabble in drugs age. I know a lot go though it and most parents are lucky enough not to know what their little darlings are up to but for some reason I always get to find out. It's breaking my heart but I can only hope and pray that he has enough sense to come out the other side. Arguing, talking .......... nothing helps so I pretty much don't sleep when he's out.
On to other things
DH and I had a diabetes test done at the chemist while we were waiting for his prescriptions. Mine was fine (don't know how as I am the sugar demon) but DH came up at 7.6.......the chemist has told him to go to the Drs as we had only had porridge and coffee with no sweetners at all for breakfast it should have been a lot lower.
Can someone tell me how bad 7.6 is, it drives me screwy reading on the net

It's at the high end of normal paidinchickens, he might be pre-diabetic. Cut down his sugar and carbs now to stop it turning into diabetes... I wish we had found out before the RV developed it. He was diagnosed 5 years ago and is still excellent without any meds, still diet controlled. Low carb/moderate fat.0

I THINK it should be 5 or lower, but you want to get your doc to do an HBA1C test, does your blood sugar for the last two months - Dr Warlock came in at 58 - should be 30  (he has got it down to 47 so doing well!)Must use my stash up!0 -
I'm hoping we can just sort his diet. He is on so much medication, including statins and inhalers and I read they can push it up as well. I feel like he lives in the Doctors at the minute.
He is allergic to penicillin (severely) and the Doc gave him some alternative stuff for his gammy toe and it turned out he's allergic to the fake stuff as well.........I don't know if I should pull my hair out or up the life insurance.
Men and kids, without them I would be of sound mind with no stretch marks

Hi all, that hound was a good boy for the vetty person this morning and had his bloods taken and had an injection without batting an eyelid, he's a very stoic little man. The vet says there is not discernable reason for him to be a sicky boy but one of the drugs he's been on can cause ulcers so he's taken that drug out and put in an anti ulcerative for the lad. We have to keep him on a bland diet for a while but he is already on that so no changes.
My visit to the city was relatively successful and I've found some stocking presents but I almost fainted in M&S as it is so mild here today but they had the shop so hot that even the till staff were wilting, all in rolled up shirtsleeves and drinking masses of water and sweating visibly. This was the food department, so not good, I wonder how many people are poorly after their visit, I know I was mightily relieved to get out of the centre and into the fresh air.
Hope all is well with you and yours, I'm going for a refill of tea, Lyn xxx.0 -
Pic - DS2 is a type 1 diabetic & he keeps his blood sugar between 4 & 7. Your DH is a little bit high but DS uses a low GI diet (googly it) that is recommended by his nurse. It would certainly be OK for anyone else too & may help him stay off any meds in future.Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0

PIC lets just say it is a little above normal. When a chemist tells you to go to the doctors you should go they don't say it lightly. I think most of us need to cut down a lot on sugars. It could be something he ate last night. They do not diagnose diabetes on one test.
What browser do you have? I had big problems with Firefox a couple of months ago right after they updated. They put a patch on the next day but it made it worse. I got my son it download it again and it has been fine ever since.
Monna your problem could be your browser too. Worth a look at. It probably needs a clean as well. When you are working on something difficult save it every sentence it saves you a lot of time. For both of you it is worth doing everything.
I am lucky I have a built in IT dept all to myself. DS did 3 years at college. Does not get him a job though. IT qualifications are 10 a penny he needs a degree. He is looking at doing one with the OU in linguistics. He has got all the stuff has looked at grants. He will be better off than on JSA, is not counting on it to get a job, but feels he will be better off learning something than jumping through the hoops the job centre make you do. He can't get sanction from the OU.
He is very good at languages. He wants to do English and German. I just hope his dyslexia does not get in the way.
He has a few German friends online and his closest friend is a Russian German so the talk in all three languages. They play games on line together.
MrsD just hang on in there and get looking for something else. I think running modern day pubs is the next thing to slavery. You time is just not your own. Hugs and hang on in there.0
