Glad all went well softstuff! Do take things easy for a while though. pleeese!
Lyn - So glad to hear Docky-dog can be helped, bless him. have a lovely time with Zebra. Funny the different ways babies find to get around. My DD2 used her elbow and toes! OH said she looked like a commando!
Mcculloch - Hope you have a good day!
Of course another good thing about moving from unit to unit is that one could get away with only one posh frock, as at the new place nobody had seen itThat was the case for me at any rate, as OH was posted on his own rather than with a regiment.
stiltwalker Your DD is so sweet worrying about Lyn :A Hope the essay is going okay x
monnagran - That made me laugh about DS and the donkey costume :rotfl: I do hope you and the Rev manage to have a bit of "Christmas at home" this year, you certainly deserve it!0 -
Glad it went well Softstuff.
Have fun on your trip McCulloch.
Hope everyone managed their costumes today without too much stress! DD bent her bat (as you do) but it didn't cause too much trauma.
Mrs LW when DS learnt to crawl we lived in a tiny flat with a desktop computer and the hard drive unit was on the floor, nowhere else for it to go. DS used to spend his entire day crawling there, turning it on or off, being taken away, going back and doing it again....and repeat ad infinitum. Drove me completely crazy.0 -
I am so sorry for not being around when you needed a friend Lyn. I have just caught up and had a whirlwind of worriment in doing so. So relieved that Docky is physically alright and that he can be treated to help him with his difficulties. Really upset that I wasn't here for you like you have been for me in times of worry.
There's not really been any reason for my absence other than trying to catch up on housework, crochet, a meal out with the girls from the office at work and grocery shopping.
One of my ladies suggested today that I look at knitting looms as a way of knitting socks. Funnily enough eldest DD has a circular loom so she is going to teach meI have more wool for my crochet cardi so can't wait to get going with that again.
I have been to physiotherapy about my knee pain today. It appears that my knees are out of alignment. It looks like it has come from years of flip flop wearing anyway but working in my job with unsupportive shoes, however flat and comfy they are, are adding to the pressure on my knees joint. I can no longer lounge on the couch with my feet up beside me (years of laptop use like that) so need a foot stool as well as a decent pair of lace up work shoes. I have an exercise to do these next few weeks which I have to do as much as possible then she'll give me more to do to realign and build muscle. It's all good but going to be very expensive.
Any ideas on where to get black supportive lace up shoes from?
Also Lyn what is the name of the sheepskin slipper place you buy from? A lady of mine is after some real sheepskin slippers but doesn't know where to start... I said I know a lady who can help
We're having chicken pasta in a tomato sauce tonight. I sit typing to you with a Dors*t tea free sample of strawberries and cream/ We got 10 free tea bags through the door so making use0 -

Fuddle So sorry to hear about your knees. I got my supportive lace-ups from Clarks. I can't remember the name of the style, but i bought them last year in any case, and this year's equivalent probably has a different name.
They aren't pretty, but are incredibly light, supportive and comfortable. (and waterproof!)
Otherwise, Boots sell supportive inserts to put in shoes. They keep your feet in the right position so that your knees are aligned properly. They are called Orthoheels.0 -
Hiya FUDDLE we're fine love, really and honestly we're fine and the Docky doglet is going to be fine too he's just a foggy doggy at the moment and I'm looking forward to finding the right treatment to bring him back to his own little personality as much as is possible.
The company we use for sheepskin slippers is called LAMBLAND website is https://www.lambland.co.uk they are very good quality and a good company to do business with, very reliable. I like moccasin slippers with a solid outdoor sole on and no fluffy insides as I get hot feet which is what I buy, they cost me around £18 but last for a good couple of years, wear well and most importantly are very comfy. They do various different designs of slipper some with fleecy insides and some without. They sell an the land of Bay if you want pictures. Hope that helps, Lyn xxx.
You could try Scholl for supportive shoes if there is a shop in your neck of the woods. DD2 has arthritis in both feet and has a supportive insert made that fits into black lace up trainers which she wears most of the time to keep her comfy.0 -
fuddle http://hotter.co.uk
or you may find a shop selling their shoes near by.
Inserts for your shoes are best made for you. There will be a department at your local hospital. I can't remember what they are called, my middle son had to have them I used to find them in his bookcase after he had gone to school. We ended up getting permission for him to wear trainers. Good trainers are supporting. depending on how wide your feet are there is ecco but they are very wide.0 -

Our pets are our lives I say.......I love all 40 of my hens , about 5 hedgehogs , and Bo the cross patterdale , who lives by the open fire this time of year.......
Fuddle....So sorry to hear that you now have poor knees , im all for paying good money for good shoes too, have you tried Brantano shoes.? , I always wear clarks and brantano sells them amongst other good quality shoes....Ive just bought a pair of Croc welly boots , oh my are they comfy and so light , you dont know your wearing them, cost me near on 30 nicker but worth every penny..............

Glad your appointment was helpful fuddle. I have fallen arches and have had spurs a couple of times in my heels and what with that and my back I don't wear flipflops, high heels or dead flat shoes/sandals any more or I pay the price. Supportive comfy shoes are better for your feet, your knees, back, posture. I have a pair of Jeremy clarksons shoes and I find trainers (not the cheap fashion sort) very good to wear. Also be careful with wearing flimsy flat slippers indoors if you are up and about in them a lot.0

MRSLW - thats good news, our old boy kitty had dementia for the last couple of years, it meant he was unable to go out alone(although he regualrly managed to escape) and had episodes of manic yowling, but he was able to live happily with it.
Fuddle - would Dr Ms be any good for you?
sheila - frustrating that its been moved, but remain positive, you will begin next year on a better footing as it were
PIC lovely to see you post again
Softstuff hope you are taking things easy after your op.
Am exhausted OH was out for work at 4.30am and woke me up, I had only gone to bed at 1.30, today is my busy busy day, starts with dropping DD20 at the bus stop at 7.30am and ends with collecting her from uni at 6pm, as the buses dont run properly after 5pm. Have done shopping, cleaning, support group and all manner of school runs in between.
DD8 and DS10 both have to wear non uniform tomorrow, DS has to be a superhero (have given him a onesie I had for Christmas for him) and DD has to wear onesie, so again I dug through my Christmas box and gave her the one I had in.
Am so looking forward to bed tonight0
