jem - send the DLA form off anyway it doesnt need a diagnosis - and based on whats already happening you will get it now, which will help pay for some stuff.
As for school, office staff are usually in as are head teachers, most head check emails as well, so if Camhs emailed the head and explained the urgency they may get a quicker reply

So if they are moving sites, staff are working but kids arent - its worth a go to track them down if you can speed it up :)

As for DLA we applied for DS9 when he was 7 finally and got it immediately, without diagnosis, people had been pushing me for years but I struggled to get over the emotional hurdle.

    Hi.

Really wanted to go to bed early tonight but that hasn't happened. I've read through todays posts but my cooked, sunburnt brain has garbled everything.
    Bits I remember.

Mar: Spitfires are wonderful planes but it helped to be able to distinuish the sound of it during the war. My Ma stood on a bridge over the river where we lived, admiring the Spitfires flying towards her down the river. Then she noticed that the 'Spitfires' had black swastikas under their wings and were dropping bombs as they came towards her. She was pushing me in the pram at the time and said she had never taken that bridge so quickly in her life.

Sarah: Welcome flower. When you get to the end of your life I bet you won't be saying, "Oh, I wish I'd washed my kitchen floor more."
Small children, lack of money, no supporting partner.....just get through one day at a time ducky. You'll get plenty of support here, not to mention a bit of advice, a bit of gentle nagging and more laughs than you've probably had for a long time. Wait till GreyQueen gets back!

Welcome back PIC. Are you mad? didn't you have enough of us last time?

AOT: I can only say what everyone else has said - You'll find that talking to an actual person is non-scary. They are usually very helpful and if they're not you can always ask to speak to somebody else. Good Luck.

Right I'm off to bed. Tales of my enthralling life will have to wait until tomorrow.

AOT: as others have said, ring up. We got a demand last year for about £650. They said we had been claiming benefits plus small pension. The only benefits were non countable ones such as council tax and DLA. After a panicky weekend, we phoned and it was a mistake. HTH. Esther
