    Hi,
I'm feeling really peed off and silly as it sounds I feel like crying. I've finally caught up and had written a fairly long post about my wk and some responses to others. I pressed submit and I was asked to log in and the whole lot has been lost. The words don't always flow and I have to correct things often and having tried to share and lost everything I feel really down to say the least.
Anyone know why this happens and what I did wrong:(

It seems to happen at random, some of us seem to get caught more than others though. (Though its a long time since it logged me out, I've had more than a few lost posts)
What I tend to do with longer posts is either write them in Word or copy and paste them into Word or Notepad before pressing either preview or submit. (CTRL+A - selects all the text box CTRL+C to copy, Alt+Tab if you have Word or Notepad open ready, then CTRL+V to paste)
(Sometimes pressing your browser's back button will show your post)

  • Evening everyone, had a fab weekend away with DD1 and the only wedding things done were making some sugar flowers, and they melted!!!!! Goodness me it aint arf hot Mum!!!

Hello to SARAH welcome to the thread, it's full of good advice and lots of naughty giggles, lots of fun, nice to have you with us.

SEA KELP TABLETS are available in a bottle of 500 from Holland and Barret for £5.39p and are on a buy one and get one half price offer. They say to take between 1 and 3 a day so better price from there than paying postage.

Off to pick beans in the polytunnel, I might melt but at least the heart is willing, catch you later, Lyn xxx.
  • Whew!! Have finally had time to catch up with all the back posts. Stiltwalker I think you are doing amazingly and dealing with so much without extra pain. Hope the physio is able to help.
And siegemode I feel for you. It's so disheartening to have that happen. Technology and I don't get along too well so have had similar experiences and I agree - it does make you want to sit down and cry.:o
Am feeling down and miserable myself after got some from the Inland Revenue this morning telling me that as I had two jobs last year and did not tell them about one I now owe them almost £900:eek::eek::eek:. Don't know whether to laugh or cry. Firstly I did not have two jobs, just the one, they just can't cope with my widow's pension!(and I have paid tax on it). Secondly where am I going to find that amount of money. My incomings are well below the tax allowance amount in any case and I can just about manage (with all the helpful advice and tips on this site) but even if they take it monthly it will leave me absolutely "on the bones of my a**e" as my OH would have said.
Am all screwed up tight inside and dreading the phone call will have to make tomorrow.
Sorry for whinging. I know lots of you have major problems as well and deal with them marvellously.
Hope you are all enjoying the sunshine - or for those like me who don't, I hope you can find somewhere cool and shady.

  • Hi All, still trying to catch up with this thread after being on holiday for a week so will catch up with you all again later :D

Hope you don't mind but I have a question for you, we slow cooked a chicken yesterday and have got as much meat off as we can so what can I do with the carcass and chicken bits left on it? I have tried to boil it down before but I find what I am left with is oily and not very nice looking. Can anyone give me any hints about where I am going wrong please?

    Thank you :j

Hello PIC lovely to hear from you again, all is well, yes? Lyn xxx.

MOMENTS simmer the carcass for a couple of hours then take out all the solids and put the cooled down liquid that is left in the fridge overnight and the fat will rise to the top and set solid, so you can remove it completely and you should have lovely jellied stock underneath it, Lyn x.

    @Sarah,
Its hard enough in life to just live. Therefore you must consider which is more important to you and deal with that one thing at a time.

This is the path i'm learning - Before hand i was rushing around trying my best to make everything perfect...But for other people, Resulting in my own needs & wants being pushed aside. Lucky my partner understands that i'm the type of person who will do anything (within reason) for anyone. Sadly, This has led me down a tough road so in theory i'm trying to rebuild my life to suit us!

Thank you for the wise words and I can totally relate to the doing anything for others as I am also guilty of putting others first and spreading my resources thin

Hi, hope you dont mind me rejoining you all.
Its been a few months and things are so much better.

I have had the surgery on my shoulder they repaired the tendon and also shaved some of the bone off. I now have to do physo on the arm for a few months as with not beening able to use it properly its very stiff.

We have moved into a bungalow its lovely, needs a bit of work but will have to wait until I have the use of two arms. Then OH and I will get on with it. Also I will be able to have a veg garden next year.

    I hope everyone is well.
