  • Hi MAR I'll go through my recipe books later on today and see if I can find you some things to make cauliflower palatable. I know you don't do spicy but is there anything else you really really don't like the taste or texture of? I've got some old books so the flavourings will be gentle and perhaps that will be more to your taste? Cheers Lyn xxx.

Thanks muchly Mrs L. I like food when other people cook it but never after I've finished with it :) I'm struggling with low carbing because there's nothing nice to eat so I'm munching too many oatcakes which is bad!
I like nice well cooked plain food. Is just that in this house it isn't well cooked!

    Morning all.

Feeling very refreshed today. Last night was the first time in a while I managed to have a good sleep. Once I finally got off thanks to his heat!

I think I might have found a bargain on a fb page today. Its more about my winter prep but someone is selling 2 boxes of 50 candles for £4. All brand new too.
As we only have limited heating in the winter months, This last winter we relies that I was cheaper & warmer running candles.

I have also been researching about growing potatoes for next year. OH has said that if we have enough garden space for it and can managed them he is willing to build a wooden troth. We was shocked on Sunday when we nipped to a MR T and a small bag of pots cost us over £3.90. Hopefully we're able to do this as it's saving us a fortune - by the amount of pots my OH eats.

Also for anyone who's interested Mr Ald! has vitamins coming in. All different, I see them advertised in store over the weekend. Might be wise for anyone who is a vit regular to take a look as it seems they currently have some unbeatable prices.

Today i'm wondering if I should tackle the ironing pile? I have 4 basket fulls that need a good iron and then the joys of putting it all away .......Any offers??????
    Future goals:
    Become debt free.
    Beat Depression.
    Be happy & healthy

Morning - I find myself with a free or two which is fab :T I have to be at a conference a 12 and it's an hour away so there was no point going into work.

I have just been to get a few bits for DD's birthday on Thursday - her phone contract will run out tomorrow so she is going with her dad at lunchtime to choose a new one (it's a bit of a worry as OH will pretty much get her what she wants so I have had a stern word with them both and set the boundaries, it will be a 2 year contract so I don't want a £40 or £50 a month one, when £20 will get her what she needs) and she is having driving lessons from September (:eek::eek::eek:). So TKus Maxximus it was for a cheap Spiderman jigsaw ( she is a bit of a geeky girl), some pasta shaped like teddy bears and a reduced in price leather bag.

I accidentally bought myself a new purse also - :o:o - it leaped off the shelf and into my basket. Of it's own accord Y'unnerstand. I have had the old one for nearly 18 years and it is falling apart so I think I'm entitled. I bought the old one in Jenners in Edinburgh when I was feeling a sick as a dog being newly pregnant with DD. THis new one is luurvely, it is soft red leather and was £14 reduced from £70. SEVENTY POUNDS!!:eek: Who would pay that for a purse??? World's gone mad.

Birthday party was a roaring success (seven hours!! never again) and we finished the last of the food yesterday for tea. I ended up chucking 2.5 cheese rolls - which is blimmin good going, if you ask me. Not that you were, but never mind I'll tell you anyway :p The nicest left over was traffic light jelly straight from the fridge that I had yesterday afternoon. It was more cooling than anything else I've ever tried. I may make some more - though not "traffic Lighted".

DS did his exclusion yesterday. In a cell like room from 8.30 till 3. I think he was bored rigid, but that was the point. There were 3 others in there, one had been in there for 2 weeks - well I think they let him out to go home and that! :D DS didn't ask what he'd done. Anyhow a mahoosive policeman came and read J the riot act and said to school that if the parents of the other boy make a complaint he will tell them he's spoken to J and so hopefully that is the end of it. School also said that 6th forms and colleges only ask for references concerning years 10 and 11 and DS is just at the end of year 9 - phew!

Where's Fuddle? Hope you are ok, chick.

Y'all have a nice day now as they say ... somewhere.

    I'm alright VJsmum. :)

Can I ask how to make homemade granola?

I've bought some in Home Bargains £1.29 if I recall for 500g. It will last ages topped on plain yoghurt with fruit and honey but was wondering what it consists of and can I make my own without additives/sweetners etc and shave some of the cost off?
