Hi everyone, lovely weather again today. Have just cleaned the bathroom, I must be mad. It was so hot in there, but it had to be done.
DD hovered up downstairs, and that's it for housework.

Work was so busy last night, luckily we have air con but that makes my astmah worse. I thought as it was still nice and warm we would be quiet - no we were more busy and then because its nice and warm you don't want to do much.

DD finished her level 2 yesterday with 3a's, 4b's and 1 c grade. TO say I am proud is an understatement as she has a helper to assist her. Has to record whats said on a dictation machine, so she can grasp what each unit is. This is the same person in January who was told she wasn't getting good enough grades to pass at basic level. A bit of tough love talking and all sorted. Level 3 in September for a 2 year course. Then she wants to go to uni to be a dementia social worker.

She has also applied to volunteer as a bingo caller and game/activity assistant at a care home. She finds them all so interesting, and spends hours drinking tea and just chatting about anything. At 17 that's something.

Must get some food packed for my tea tonight, now do I have salad or a cooked ready meal...... think its salad again!!

Fuddle have a google for hm granola, its easy to make and you can just add whatever bits you pick up cheap. I made some but lost the recipe, however it keeps crispy in a plastic tub for ages and the kiddies will think its just like the fancy cereals you buy but its good for you.

Off to M&S for some cotton shoes as mine have bald soles :o I have vouchers from swagbucks so hopefully wont have to add cash, which is lucky co I got none :rotfl: I may even be able to wear a skirt on my hols if I get some ! trainers really dont work for me in this weather.

Just waiting for a phone call from Manchester carers to see if I have a place at their pamper session tomorrow, am hoping to have a mini pedicure but am torn between that and an Indian head massage....oooh decisions :D

I am Mar but kiddies and DH aren't, although he's reading up on it now so I think it won't be long. ;)

You feel better on it? I can't say I'm losing much in the way of weight but bloated tummy is no longer and feel human and normal through the day. I have 'cheated' with boiled potatoes and have had peanuts and white rice but pastas, bread and flour etc - nope :)

Mar? sweeties? your craving gone? 85% chocolate for me when cravings come but only have a couple of pieces.

I'm with Mar on the sprouts thing, it may have been the way my Mum cooked them, boiled to expletivery, same as everything else. Bet you've never had boiled chops or boiled liver.

I had to leave home to taste a grilled chop, nobody else dared interfere with Mum's cooking.

The thinking behind this was, Mum was raised in Estonia, partly on the family farm (my cousin was the last member of the family to be born there, in 1974). Boiling ensured that the meat was safe, so nearly all meat was boiled, in those pre-fridge days. Summers are hot in Estonia, though unusually we are warmer than Tartu at the moment. That doesn't happen often.

  • Sprout lovers of the world I salute you!!!!! thank you all for coming OUT too!!! Cheers Lyn xxx

FUDDLE when you make the granola leave the dried fruit out for the baking bit, add it in when the cerealy bit is cooked or it goes brittle and hard and tastes burnt!! Lyn xxx.

Boiling wasn't enough in our house. Sprouts had to have a generous spoonful of bicarb added. "to keep the colour" I was told. It's a wonder I like them!
