Great news about DS's bursary SQ :j

Sorry this is so brief, it's my birthday so we went out for lunch and i ate too much, fell asleep in my armchair when we got home, and haven't felt right since! I'll be fine tomorrow, I'm sure :)

    Happy birthday Ivyleaf :)

Mrs LW thank you for the weather warning, I had totally missed it so I know what needs to be done tomorrow

Nutty ((hugs)) hope you are feeling better soon. I understand totally the idea that you have taken the new job but dont feel any better off, we are the same, its because working the extra hours you have to take short cuts and they invariably cost more.

    Sheila good luck tomorrow

Pooky - by some weird coincidence I pulled a jug out of the cupboard earlier and complained it was dirty, then realised its always dirty whenever I get it out, which has led me to the realisation that the tap needs resealing :) Not sure how I go about it, having never had to do this ourselves. So will be googling later.

Its been a yucky weekend really, DS16 is still ill, OH is ill (has been all week) and it sounds like a chest infection, he is refusing to go to the walk in centre though because they never diagnose anything!! DD20 is coughing away but still not got the flu like symptoms and I am absolutely full of it. I had hoped mine was just a cold but today woke with the familiar feeling in my chest and know its going to be trouble this week.

DS10 had another two meltdowns in school on Friday and attempted to escape as well, I wondered if he was coming down with this but nothing has appeared so it is clearly school upsetting him, meaning I have to go in tomorrow and try to deal with it. Thankfully we only have this week and then its half term.
DD8 is the only one who is fully fit and seemingly in a good mood.

Managed to get all the washing done yesterday and today I ironed, so at least everyone has clothes for the week. DD20 did a big clear up and sort out of the top landing which has been accumulating stuff since we started doing DS16 bedroom weeks ago, the mess had grown with each major room sort but is thankfully all gone now.

Sold one of my unwanted gifts on the bay today and having listed it as an unwanted gift was rather stunned by a message from the buyer asking me to include the receipt. Surely its fairly obvious that if I had the receipt I would simply have returned the item??

Right am off for yet more honey and lemon before a shower :)
  • Happy birthday Mrs Ivy Leaf , :D:bdaycake:, im glad youve had a lovely day , and im sure you will feel better tomorrow , why do we always over in dulge on our birthdays ?...x

PIC that's very good advice, and I fully agree. We are unfortunate and have no option for high schools as we are a small town. But given the choice that's the way I would be looking.

Fuddle I believe we have it too, and from my Facebook wall it seems everyone I know got it, so hopefully everyone will get it. In my case it will pay a little of our debit caused when they forgot they were supplying us gas and electricity!

Mardatha glad you have given us a wave.

Seems like everyone should get the £12 rebate

Happy Birthday Ivyleaf. Hope you had a great day x

get well wishes to all the poorlies, so many at the moment.

Hope you get DS10 sorted schoolwise tomorrow kidcat.

We had a fun afternoon at our "local" theme/rides park as DS10's reward for very hard work of late. Free entry for the kids thanks to rewards vouchers and nothing for us oldies as we didn't get on any rides. DS10 has always been a bit of a daredevil with the fast rides with DS7 the opposite. DS7 lost his fear today and both boys had such a good time, they were beaming. Felt like DS10 really needed to let his hair down and DS7 to an extent as he has been dragged along to lots of open evenings and was as good as gold, never a word of complaint even when he was dog tired.

Got back later than planned as the wristbands gave unlimited rides and we won't be going back again for some time. Ended up buying naughty burgers on the way back. I had planned for a little spend on candyfloss or icecreams but boys didn't ask for anything and we took them drinks and a snack so the takeaway didn't cost that much extra with the prices they charge at those places. Feel a bit guilty still spending when our money is tight but I had the cash drawn out and budgeted for already and if we can have some fun in life then why not? What I hadn't budgeted for was the blasted boiler repairs, DS's next size trousers and plimsoles (new size bought for Sept), DH tooth extraction and first glasses from opticians and so on and so on and so on. Still we are ok, still eating and bills paid and not burying our heads in the sand, we know what we have coming in and going out.

best go to bed... night night all
