Possession,
My parents have something like this (it isn't this, this is just the easiest picture I could find to link to).

That looks good, will forward the idea to my parents, thankyou.0 -
Feeling a bit teary and sorry for myself. DH is biting my head off again today. I am trying hard to give him the benefit of the doubt and thinking it is just work stress coupled with tiredness and all this secondary school stuff. I don't want to create an atmosphere when DS10 is going through such an important time. I can handle it at the mo but I shouldn't really have to. I will keep out of his way today without being rude. He did apologise for the other day. He has taken boys to the park so a bit of a break from each other and then I am popping to the supermarket before they close so another break. Grrrrrrrrrr.0

She's almost completely deaf VJ'sMum.
(((hugs))) SQ, I hope DH comes to his senses in the fresh air.0 -
SQ - Hope he's in a better frame of mind when he returns - maybe send the boys out for a kick about and tell him that his attitude just isn't on, you can't work as a family like that and that he needs to seriously buck his ideas up - you've got stress to deal with too.....then pop out to the shops and let him have a think about it.
Sometimes I've found with DH that if I actually say it - oi - pack it in you're being a bit of a muppet - then he realises he's overstepped the mark. He doesn't seem to pick up on subtle hints.
Cleaned out the porch today - it's like a dumping ground....told the girls that any shoes not reclaimed and put away were being dumped (4 pairs went - all past it) - same with coats - claim the ones you want - empty the pockets and put them in the washing basket, all the rest have been bundled up for the charity shop. All coats now washed and flapping on the line.
Trying to find the bottom of the ironing basket too but DH is having a falling over day so I've given that one up for now....it'll still be there tomorrow, unless the ironing fairy takes pity on me (she won't - she's a cowbag)
Lasagne for tea....cheating as the jarred sauces were buy 2 get a free lasagne dish in Mr T's....so I did - great size dish for the 4 of us and very much needed as my old 4 person one cracked alone the side last week and got chucked.....if I make it in the bigger dish, we eat more."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. Yes, that's the downfall of the new school. New uniform. We go from navy blue to grey and green. She starts Tuesday morning.
I have had a very non OS Saturday which consisted of paint balling with girls from work. I never thought I would be doing such an activity but it was such fun!
Today we are relaxed. DH is making a beef and ale cobbler from the recipe that came with the national trust magazine and I have a chilli in the slow cooker for tomorrow. Reason I am doing it today is simply that mince needed cooking and I wanted to use up odds and ends of veggies before shopping arrives this evening.
I am planning on doing a few chocolate cakes in ramekins later. I haven't tried the microwave method so will give a go.
I plan to relax, bathe in candle light and peruse Pinterest throughout the afternoon and evening. Enjoy the rest of the weekend.0 -
Does anyone know if Maris Piper potatoes make ok jacket potatoes?0
-
Don't see why they shouldn't FUDS as long as they're the right sort of size any maincrop potatoes should give you a perfectly acceptable jacket spud. Oh boy am I jealous of paintballing, it's on the bucket list!!!0

I saw a guy on the common yesterday when I was walking the hound who had two huskies harnessed up to his pushbike and was clipping along at quite a speed, looked so much fun, that's on the bucket list too!!!0
