So sorry about kitty Kidcat. xx
I hope the children are enjoying the birthday celebrations today to take their mind off the sadness a bit.
I'd like to share some good news with you all if I may, I've just sold practically all our books, including DH's rare collection, for a rather nice sum. I was prepared to give most of them away so I'm very pleased I decided to ring the local secondhand bookshop last week. We now have lots of empty bookcases to sell. It's going to take some time to get used to, and I think DH will be rather sad when he gets home and sees the empty shelves, but it's for the best.0 -
Hi everyone
((((((((((((((((((((((((((((kidcat)))))))))))))))))))))) sending my best hugs your way, so sorry to hear about your cat but sounds like you had his interests at heart and he had a good innings.
Hope your op went ok Sheila, thinking of you.
A star in the making stilty, what a fantastic experience for little Miss. Its a shame her walker can't run like a hybrid car except with solar power or a wind-up mechanism and electric for an extra boost!
Glad you are on the mend Fairy, you have been poorly for a while now.
Well done Mr Pooky on starting an OU adventure.
Boys have the day off school for teacher trainer and we have an extra lad whose mum works on a Friday. I have lots to do and they are playing happily on the Weeee but I don't want them on it much longer so need to either take them out to a park or better still encourage them outside to play footie.
Didn't get home til 10pm last night with the open eve and up 6.30 for the 11+ tomorrow. Getting a bit much for littlest SQ so think next week I will take DS10 and leave DS7 with daddy. Only hitch is if DH is late home then I will have to take them both with me. The events are all loud, packed, sweaty events, exciting especially with the science activities but exhausting. I looked in the mirror before bed and my face was streaked with sooty marks, probably from an experiment DS did involving burnt crisps. I wondered how long I had been chatting to teachers looking like I had stepped out of a coal pit!!

I am sure your DH will see the benefit to your family by allowing them to be passed onto other book lovers. Having been a book-filled-home person who has had to sell & give away my own & my parents' collections it must have been hard for you both. He'll be OK. It's just the initial shock I think, but ultimately all the clutter of the house just contributes to his anxiety, even the books.0 -
Well done POSESSION, I'm sure Mr Posession will get used to the space you've created and surely will appreciate the extra savings in the bank.0

Well done Possession - a brave step. Hope Mr Possession is ok with it.
Another busy day and oh my goodness it was hot - the local weather bod said we had 97% humidity and I can well believe it. We had a cracker of a storm last night - right over head with seriously heavy rain and sheet lightening - the thunder was rattling the house. It's still showing as 26 on my thermostat now but we've had to close the windows and doors because of the amount of bugs!
DH had loads of stuff delivered from OU today - all his books and equipment, he had some forms for his specialist to sign too so we emailed them off to him up at Kings - he emailed back 30 mins later saying they were signed and sent off!!!! Great bloke!
Left over chicken and slightly manky peppers used up in a curry tonight - about as OS at it got today.
DD1's train from Scotland may be delayed half way through it's journey and she may miss her connection home........there's always something to worry about!"Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
Hi all , No the op didnt happen ,:mad:, I was then going through to the theartre doors and see anaesthetist as you do and he checked my ankle band and wrist band then doing final check on my file and he questioned me over my hemoglobin is at 10 and it should be inbetween 13 to 16 .....
He asked me questions like am I still having periods and have I cut myself to which I said no, he then said that he will not go ahead with the op cos ive got low hemoglobin.........The surgeon said that he as to go by what the anaesthetist says , and I wont be having the op until things are sorted, so out come the drip etc and back I went to the ward and got dressed I got home at 4pm with no op.......Gutted dont cover it , but if its not safe for me to be anaesthatised then so be it , obviously they cant take chances in that job, so ive a dr app tues morn and I expect he will want me to have more blood tests to find out why ive got low hemoglobin levels....................So thats that .......But thanks to you all for sending me nice posts on here....Sheila...( shegar)My motto is " one life live it ".....:)0 -

So sorry you didn't get the op Sheila but better safe than sorry eh?
Quite OS today took mum and sis to zoology museum today then botanical gardens. Has a cheapo lunch at a Weatherspoon type place. Went to Mr T and got a heap of YS items so plenty of meals for days now and some lovely things that I would not have otherwise bought.
Hugs to anyone who needs been up since yesterday so not sure I am making a whole heap of sense xx0 -
Kidkat - it was a possibility - but she's been checking timetables as she travels, hopped on a few different trains, worked round the delay and will be home half an hour ahead of planned time! Clever girl!"Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0
