    Great news Fudds!

Ginny your weight loss is inspirational - well done you.

Think Kidkat could do with a few gentle hugs this evening so sending some from here x

Had such a busy day again, work seems to have gone crazy (4 new orders today alone). Took some time out for a lovely walk with DH - we encountered a very nervous horse in one of the lanes, the rider asked if she could just spend 10 mins letting him get used to DH's scooter as he'd never come across one before and was quite upset by it.....but after a while he was happy to walk along side have a good sniff and snuffle and trotted off happily.

DH has taken the plunge to start a degree with the OU, he wants to try and get his brain back. He's doing it with the help and support of his consultant at Kings and has a load of equipment being delivered from the OU to help him. It's nice to see him so enthused about something.

DD2 is shattered from college and placement after being off since May - it's hard hitting going from school to exams to summer hols and then 5 days a week leaving at 7am and getting in at 6.30pm....bless her. DD1 has disappeared off to Edinburgh to see her BF - he's only been gone 2 weeks!!!

    Hi.

Don't know how far I'll get with this, wretched computer is doing all sorts of weird things. We had a terrific thunderstorm earlier and I think it's sulking. Actually just had a huge flash of lightning so it's 0bviously coming back.

Fuddle, you make me smile, but thank you. Great news about the school. It will make such a difference to your life.

Silvasalva: Hope you enjoy your stay on the Island. If you hear a great noise coming from the Bembridge area on Saturday it will be 16 toddlers at my DS's enjoying Mia's second birthday party. Where has that time gone? Don't miss a second of zebra, Lyn, they are babies no time at all.

Chicken11: A precis of my move. Just for you.
Minusses. A heat wave on moving day, windows that wouldn't open and doors that wouldn't shut, no hob for the cooker, no phone (we are still having irate conversations with Talk ditto in the Philippines), a garden so over grown that we could only just get down the path, no room for freezer so had to be put in an outhouse, although we had got rid of loads of stuff we still have too much to get in this smaller house.
Plusses. The lovely people who live in the gorgeous town, a new wet room to die for, lots of obliging handy men who are whipping the house into shape, super people who look after us brilliantly, lots of blackberries from the brambles in the garden, a view of the White Horse at Westbury from my study window, wonderful people who almost did our moving in for us, hundredweights of pears from our pear tree, did I mention the kindness and generosity of the people? Great fun with the neighbours and are we happy? You bet your life we are.

Well done on the weight loss Ginny. I touch my forelock in awe and reverence. Gunga Din(?) has nothing on you.

Wow! The thunder is back with a vengeance, I'm going to make sure that all is well downstairs.

Have a good night all you insomniacs - I've found that doing Sudokus if I wake in the night soon has me yawning.

Ooof! the storm is right overhead now and the Rev has walked down to the town for a meeting. Am expecting a drowned rat any moment.

Great news Fuddle - kids are so resilient - i think we forget how much they can cope with! but life should be easier for you with school runs at least

Pooky - good news that your husband is doing something with the OU

Posession - insomnia is evil isn't it?!!! I can eventually get to sleep at about midnight - but wake anytime between 4 and 5 - if I was to go to bed earlier i wake earlier and waking at 3 is just horrible!!! I manage through work but I am so tired between 6 and 8 that I can hardly talk so I am not much good to the kids! I'm hoping is temporary with the job change and kid issues! - you also sound like you are going through a tough time so hopefully things will improve!

Monnogran - I love your way with words - it makes me smile! Your house move sounds eventfull to say the least!!!

Oh well - study day for me tomorrow - so after a 9.30 online tutorial I shall be trying to get some writing done - DS off to outward bound school trip on Sat and DD3 has a weekend of baking and sewing planned for us!!! Hope I can remeber how to work a sewing machine - its been a while!!! One more week in current job to go and off monday and on a study day Tues so 3 days left!

  • Well what a day today has been - DD and I have been over to Salford to watch the filming of a cbeebies show, signed all sorts of release forms so not quite sure how much I'm supposed to say but if I say the house show of he who makatons I'm sure anyone with small people will know who I mean. They asked for a number of children from DD's group to come and do the comments after the show and be filmed and DD set off herself, wheeling away with talker to hand - fabby camera man worked really hard to catch her saying her bit so fingers crossed she doesn't end up on the cutting room floor. Total magic moment of the day came when on the way back down the lift door opened to reveal the man himself!! who was charm personified to DD - even singing her the Hello song from one of his other shows - we are so never going to hear the end of this!!

Just need to break it to her that tomorrow is an ordinary day and she has to go to school and work hard instead of traipsing round watching tv shows being recorded - wish me luck!!!
  • Morning all,

    Congratulations Ginny!

Hugs for Kidcat. I don't know what is up, but if Posession says they're in order then I'll send mine along knowing hugs are never out of place.

Fuddle, what a great turn of events! It will be a relief to have the nearer school, but next time you face a similar challenge, remember how well you managed this time.

Sheila, my thoughts are with you.

Stiltwalker, I could just feel little Miss Stilty's exuberance in your post.

Feeling miles better, although still feel quite poorly. I'm working again, although from under a blanket. There were a couple of days when i just had to curl up and keep my eyes shut. Unfortunately I'm missing some training at work today, but as I'm still feeling knackered and get winded and coughing fits, I think its best to stay home--not just for my sake but all of my colleagues who won't want to put up with this when lectures start next week!

Someone has sent me some lovely thoughts these past two days and I just want to pass them along. She reminded me that life and beauty aren't about where we're going or what we're trying to get to, they're in what we are in right now, so don't forget to stop and look around at the good things you have right now. Goals are wonderful, but so is the getting to them---and the getting lost along the way.x

MOrning toughies - thank you pooky and FPK for the hugs.

Have been trying to keep up but the week has been all over the place, Sheila I hope your OP went ok
Stiltwalker - wow please tell us when to watch its one of DS10 favourites still!!

    FPK - lovely thoughts

Yesterday I had to take our old boy kitty to be put to sleep, he had deteriorated rapidly in the past few days and was refusing all food. The vet agreed it was the right decision and that we had exhausted all options.
The kids took it badly and I regret not having discussed the possibility with them, I just sort of assumed they could see just how bad he was.

It broke all the rules as I had dental sedation the day before and the rules say no decisions within 24 hrs, but he was so poorly I couldnt wait any longer, its also our Womble kittys first birthday today and I knew how much the kids were looking forward to a party for him.

DS10 has been off school all week with a horrid cold, which hasnt helped matters, think he is finally looking a bit better today so fingers crossed he continues to improve :)

Sending hugs to all and will try to catch up later
  • Huge hugs Kidcat - sorry you have had all that to deal with.

Will certainly tell you when to look out for little Miss S - she set off to school chattering all about it - she'd used up 16 % of her battery by the time the school bell rang so I was glad I'd put her charger in her bag so she can be charged up at lunch time.

Kidcat hugs xxx nothing to say except I think you made the right decision.

Stilty how wonderful, I thought the chap was a nice guy but you dont know till you meet him in RL. Little man has taught him self rather a lot of Makaton just from the programme.

Just made another pot of jam from redcurrants, yellow raspberries, blackberries and apples. its beginning to look like the jam section in the sm but I dont care - if nothing else we can live on jam butties :T

Hubby is having a sleepy week but I am motivating myself to get things done and finish WIP's
