Thany you so much for caring about Docky dog, I have the knowledge that nothing can physically be done with his tumour as it's on the sheath around the nerve on his muzzle but it's in a place where the skin is tight and now has become the size of a walnut so the skin is tretched taught over it and I think that's what is causing the discomfort. If they can give him something else medication wise that will stop it irritating it will stop him from pulling at it because it will be difficult to keep safe if it's an open wound. Trying times indeed and we'll not let him suffer unduly with all this. He's in peak health for a 10 year old dog otherwise, still walks miles each day and is eating his food with gusto and likes to play with his toys so it's sad that something this small is being a problem for him. We'll see what the vetty person can offer, I'll let you know how it goes.
POSESSION I'm so sad that you were made redundant yesterday, it's rug out from under you big time but you'll accept it in a couple of days when you've had some time to get over the shock love. I know you'll find ways to cope and hope with all my heart that you can find alternative employment very quickly. Keep your pecker up, we're always here to listen and help whenever you need us, Love and Hugs, Lyn xxx.0 -
Morning all,
Possession, big hugs. I hope that you can take a moment to catch your breath and think about how to turn this situation into something that works for you and yours.
Mrs LW and Docky, I hope that the vetty person is able to provide help and support today. Hugs to you both.
AOT, I'm glad you're getting some support in finding out what you're entitled to.
Well the plumber did come yesterday and after all of that it was fixed in a few hours. Unfortunately a new problem has been discovered, although this one should be minor fix if they can find the part. They tried yesterday but couldn't seem to buy the one rubber gasket needed.
I managed to make progress on work yesterday but still loads to do. I'm trying to cram a lot into 15 minutes of speaking and am probably over-thinking it but can't seem to relax.
Good luck to all of the pupils back today and tomorrow, and hugs, a big cuppa and a slice of cake to all of the parents who have gone to tremendous efforts to get them all ready.0 -
Good luck Docky

Possession I am so very sorry to read that horrible news. Jobs should never be the bee all and end all but I know how much they bring peace of mind. I'm sorry your family have had their peace of mind wobbled but if I may remind you, for when you're ready, that our real job in life is to care, to nurture, to be there there for one another. To 'provide' has got very, very expensive indeed. You are in the right place for scraping away the layers that don't essentially matter and find new ways of providing that do. It's a shame in a way that you are a staunch toughie because we can't give you the 'stick with us we'll show you how' speech but we can be with you to prop you up and share further ideas. Thinking of you.
If ever we needed a time to get back to tips and tricks of OS, well it's now.
Thinking of you too Lyn, lets just hope Docky can get help to kick this latest issue into some sort of trivial issue. I know you will be beside yourself. So sorry this is a concern for you.0 -
Morning all
good luck Mrs LW and kidcat with your vet appointments.
((((((((((((Possession))))))))))))))) can't think of anything to say just now so sending you a massive hug.
Great to hear about your break Stilty and plans for another with people in the same boat so to speak. Hope you get the support you need for DS at the half term meetup. Your kids sound so very determined, good on them, good on their parents.
Hope back to school goes well today for Stilty's bunch and anyone else. Our turn tomorrow and yes I WILL be having a lovely hot and posh coffee out with a dear friend who I have missed seeing all the holidays. We promised ourselves one several weeks ago! I know I will feel wobbly tomorrow so meeting my friend will help so much as well as catching up with her news.
(((((((((((((ginny)))))))))))) what a week you're having, hope the new meds are ok for you this week.
Well done on the work progress AND the plumber visit FairyP.
Nice to hear from you jem, glad DH has work again. Sorry you have been unwell for ages though.
Judi I am no expert on ADHD (others might have some advice?) but I do know through friends who have had similar diagnoses that it can take a while to accept it. One friend's son has multiple needs and it took a while for her DH to get his head round it, he just blanked it all out for ages but eventually he accepted it and is now an obviously proud and supportive dad. Hopefully the same will happen for your lad. Women tend to talk things through, men often need to process things on their own. Hope this makes sense, I am still sleepy after coffee and can't seem to find the right words to type at the mo.
Talking of sleepy, AOT hope you manage a kip today you poor love.
ok enough shilly-shallying, stuff to do, places to go and all. Got to get out and get some lunch bits with my boys. Just want the whole back to school bit over and done with now!

Well the new vet we saw was so lovely and gave the Dockling a thorough once over and he's in very good nick for an old 'un. She examined his tumour and checked inside his mouth and he didn't flinch or squeak so she's sure it's not hurting too much but it is inflamed which is the probable cause of the discomfort. She's given us a two week course of anti inflammtories and we'll review this in a fortnight so hopefully this will solve the current problems. Thanks all for your lovely wishes, much appreciated at this end of the computer screen by all of us, xxx.0
