Ok - all clean and tidy now ...... til 3.30 anyway, when we've picked the kids up!! Going to put the kettle on and reward myself with a couple of biscuits - I know how to live me :D
  • POSESSION, make a cafetiere of coffee just before anyone arrives to view and if you can have a cake or something baking in the oven. It apparently makes people viewing think of it as a home, worth a go maybe?
  • Hugs to possession , tried to post yesterday, but got stuck at work covering for another shift. Good to hear you sounding positive.
Decluttering and de personalising is good. Fresh baked bread smell. And coffee brewing ? Is the only other tips I remember. Lol
MrsLW ,, glad to hear Getty person was so nice and kind. And docky is doing ok.

Brain is dying now as did another 2 hours this morning on top of my night shift as still so short staffed.
Annoyed with my self that I didn't even get an interview for that job I went for. So going to ask for feedback on my application to see where I can improve on it.
Welcome to the new OSes . Ok, washing to put out now and then think I'll have a kip. But know that if I do, they will bring back my other car from the garage just as I drop off.

Ok I'm going to do a little celebrating dance into the kitchen for all the OS peeps with children back at school. And be glad no one is watching.

    :) hugs n positive vibs x. CC

Possession - light, light and more light - make sure all curtains are pulled back to allow as much light in as possible - take down any heavy net (if you have them) and make sure the windows are sparky clean(not saying they're not already)....but I always find first impressions go a lot further if you can see what you're looking at.

Don't depersonalise too much either - I think they go to far in some of these tv programmes, you need to show that it's a house that's for living in - that a family live there and can have "stuff" - if I walk into a spotless staged house I wonder where they keep all their "stuff", is there room for "stuff", does it only look big because there's no "stuff".

Aside from that - fresh air, clean floors and toilet lid down!

I bought a talcum powder spray for the dog recently possession it smells gorgeous and it's the first thing visitors smell as they arrive. May be worth considering it for the dog.

Good luck with the estate agents/house selling Possession - was watching Phil Spencer Secret agent today (supposed to be cleaning my bedroon but got distracted!) womans house was a tip (not saying yours is! ) she had dogs and cats and they got a professional cleaning company in to gut it - they used bicrabonate of soda to lift pet odours (again no idea if you have pets or odours associated) but I thought i would try it as my dollydoodle lies on the same spot at the top of the stairs all night and I can smell it on the carpet - will let you know if it works when i hoover it up later (you use it like shake and vac)

That spray sounds a good idea Kidcat can you remember what it's called? The house is mostly neutral but in need of redecoration - definitely don't have time to do that though. The carpets are horrible though so might need to hire a carpet cleaner from Morrisons. I know from past experience it doesn't remove the worst marks sadly but it will make a difference. I've got a lot done today (when I'm supposed to be working, ha!) but it feels like there's a world more to do. Onwards and upwards.

Possession can you swap any throws, cushions or lamps from their usual place to another, that will perk up your rooms? Maybe your winter fleecy blankets on the chairs in your sitting room or folded on the end of the beds, or some cheapy crysanths or asters in a vase on your dining table?

The only thing I can remember Possesion is 'Kerb Appeal' from the House Doctor. She says (same as Pooky) sparkly windows & some tubs/baskets of flowers by the front door. Bins disguised/hidden if possible. Drives /paths swept - no rubbish or dead plants lurking! I'm sure yours is already like this though ;) Good Luck hun xx
