  • Quick post as between shifts , having to cover for staff sickness.
But had to say, went in to work last night and was given a big bunch of flowers because I'm working today on my birthday, 21 again :)
Any how, off out for lunch with some friends and kiddies , actually feel ok at the moment, I was really worried that today would hit me hard, but keeping busy helps. Then back into work again..
But I have taken my own advice and arranged some counselling , I start next week. Just in time for the next big mile stone, what would have been our 2nd wedding anniversary .
Ok sending hugs and sunshine to those that want or need it l x x
today's mood is brought to you by coffee, lack of sleep and idiots.

  • Hi PIC you keep your own peace and quiet, it's so important to have bits of life that you choose to keep to yourself and not let 'friends' and aquaintances into them to disturb your equilibrium. Good on you for standing firm and good on you for telling it like it is!

Is the condition your daughter might have the Psoriatic Arthritis that my youngest DD suffers with? if so she hasn't had to take anything out of her diet but is and will be constantly on medication via the Rheumatology Consultant at the hospital. If it's not that are you sure it was my post? Lyn xxx.
  • Lyn yes it was but I don't want to be told off for discussing medical conditions. I've been reading tons ........until I can't hold anymore info really. Without getting too deep on the subject it has been suggested that anything from the nightshade family can cause problems with the condition and other arthritic conditions and to cut it out of the diet.

I thought bu88er I have a poly tunnel full of toms and half a lottie full of spuds. I didn't know if you had tried cutting these out of her diet at all?

    PiC x
  • PIC not medical at all , I have a friend in her 80s who suffers quite badly with arthritis and I know she's avoided anything citrus and any caffeine for a number of years and is considerably less uncomfortable and less in pain with more mobility for doing this. DD finds she is better if she limits the amount of coffee she drinks, which links in with less caffeine and now drinks copious amounts of mint tea which she says makes her feel better but I suspect that what to take out of the diet is a very individual matter and is something that she'll find her own path to. The treatment and care is very good though, she'll be well looked after and kept as pain free as it's possible to be, Lyn xxx.

PIC - I have a few friends on FB whom I don't follow and therefore don't see their posts unless I go looking for them, I also have messaging blocked for some people too. Its not that I don't care but I can only do so much, and I hate seeing the horror pictures. I also get fed up of the " If you want to stay my friend you will repost this " type posts and have told one person she can happily delete me as I wont be reposting modern day chain letters :)

Nutty so glad you got sleep, our cats had played up the previous evening so I am strongly thinking moon or weather related :)

    CC - happy birthday :)

well ladies, I took DS16 back to see his surgeon today who is very pleased with him, and we can take him on holiday as long as we do no big theme parks or contact sports etc. So I have booked a short break for the end of August using our voucher, we had to pay a little more than the voucher but for a holiday in August over the bank holiday its incredibly good value, so Devon here we come!!

Have to take dawg to vetty person tomorrow morning, his legs have got worse and one gave way this afternoon and I struggled to get him upright again. He is huge and far too big for me to lift, and I think his legs have reached a stage where they are simply too old and frail to carry him. Hoping I am wrong and the vetty person is a miracle worker, but I have seen this in Labradors before and have never seen a good outcome.

Not telling the kids about vet or holiday until after tomorrow, that way I can use the distraction if its not good news.

KidKat - hope it's good news at the vet tomorrow. They really can be miracle workers.

I've had possibly my worst day in ages, found out my job may be outsourced as someone abroad can do it for about a third of my wages. And I can't even be bothered to justify myself and what I do any more..there aren't enough hours in the day to do all the tasks now expected anyway.
Spend less now, work less later.

Oh jazee that's awful. I have seen it happen a number of times and it always works out more expensive in the long run as the mistakes cost more to rectify. I do hope your employer sees sense.

So sorry to hear that jazee :( - hopefully you'll quickly find something better anyway.

kidcat - :):):) Re DS and holiday break, :(:(:( re doggy though x

Best wishes cornishchick - I hope the counselling will help ((HUGS))

Well, tomorrow I have a fasting blood test at lunchtime so I had better stick a post-it-note on the kettle to remind me not to make my usual morning cup of coffee! And perhaps it wouldn't hurt to stick one on my box of cereal too....Then in the afternoon I have my scan. And yesterday I had a call from the GP I saw last week, who said she thought it would be a good idea to see a specialist urgently too, just to be on the safe side. So that will happen in the next couple of weeks too.

I know I'm being well looked-after, but it's depressing to be back on this particular merry-go-round again, as I went through the exact same thing two years ago :( But at least if anything does need sorting, it will be sorted quickly :)

Thank you SQ :) I'm gasping for a coffee and have had to leave myself a note by the kettle to remind myself not to have any until after the blood test, which isn't until 12.10!

Isn't it quiet on here this morning! Where is everyone?
