So many puppies and kittens on here makes me want one especially as they are so good for de- stressing. All I have is spare cat who passes through every so often and little rabbit who is very old now. Dgs must have opened the hutch this morning and I panicked when I saw it but rabbit was just sat looking annoyed as he couldnt get a drink.
Big day today very sulky hubby who doesnt like being 60 and annoyed at no bar-b-que due to torrential rain.
Is it wrong that I want a swim finand one for Dgs too. His daddy was brought up hiking, wild swimming and rufty tufty type of stuff so Dgs was unceremoniously dunked in a pool at a few weeks old and never looked back. In fact he would happily live in water I think.
Stilty well done on surviving Mil - definately deserving a medal. I have Big bro dropping Mum off just hoping Sil doesnt want to come in as I could happily throttle her. Have studiously avoided her company for many many years but Mum is getting on and Oh cant do the 40 mile round trip to pick her up so gritted teeth at 12 o clock :mad:Clearing the junk to travel light

Mar, I'd cook the veg and add to the chicken with a thick cheesy sauce then add mash -cottage pie style."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0

Make white sauce then add cheese? then pour it over the lot? And just serve the chicken separately or dunk it all in?0

Bung the chicken and cooked veg in oven dish add a cheesy sauce then pop mash over top and grill is what I think pooky meant Mar.
Ginny I want swim fins to but I have spent so long getting Ds10 swimming I don't want to go backwards so will resist. So glad your dgs can swim well drowning is a real issue in auties.
Pooky hope you are feeling better today.
Weather here is yuck, I went to visit my kitty sitting duties this morning to find their conservatory is rather wet. Had to hunt down towels and have thrown them all over the floor to try to protect the new flooring they had fitted last week.0 -
Hi all, had a rather slow day today so far. It is pouring with rain here, like a monsoon. Have even had to refuse buddie his walk, would rather he doesn't become ill, or that matter I don't want to be ill.
Popped to mr m and used the voucher for the free salad stuff, treated myself to some ceaser salad, would never normally pay £2 for it. We found a ys steak pie so that will be sunday tea sorted.
OH is fast asleep snoring bless him, he works so hard all week that is what he ends up doing when he gets a day off.
well I must find my fluffy blanket and curl up. take care all xBSC member 137

Hi toughies
DS20 changed in and kicked me off my computer saying the interent was down. I assured him it wasn't, but he wouldn't believe me.
He rebooted everything no change for his computer, lots of complaints about it being the weekend and no one to fix it.
He looked at my knitting and said "it's alright for you, you have something to do."
I should have said "I'll teach you to knit."
At least I would have then known what to do with the bright orange ball of wool in the stash I bought at a CS last week.
I did not see him for at least an hour. Turned out it was something on his mother board that had blown and he got another part to do the job with some free software.
Thank God for the free software. That would have cost me a packet it's not an ordinary run of the mill computer it is 5 times the size of a standard desk top. He was so angry because he thought he would have to have a new motherboard and thus windows 8 which he hates. I have to agree with him. :j0 -
Stilty and Ginny, I definitely understand about gritting one's teeth around family. I mostly maintain the peace, which is helped by not seeing many of them often, but I also quite happily go about my way when they aren't watching!
I must have been on the same wavelength as Mar, or perhaps NuttyP's cash fairy has morphed into a YS sticker fairy. OH, after a year, has finally relaxed on his meat stance (this time last year he had me in a panic about it!) We picked up 8 meals worth of chicken and 4 of beef on our way to do the regular shop today, all reduced in Mr. M. I've spent the afternoon plotting out meals and putting them together. 4 of chicken and barley stew that goes in the SC, all prepped just need to dump it in and add the non-freezer stuff on a busy morning. 4 of Chicken and leek pie filling with my own HM pastry crusts, made up, rolled, trimmed to fit the dish and rolled up in baking paper then sealed up. Its a big step for me as pastry is my nemesis, but I can make 5 for the price of buying 1 so really must get over that.
Just sitting down to make a freezer list and write down the instructions for everything. Just a few more meals to get in before term starts. Perhaps not a restful way to spend a rainy day, but productive. Maggie has spent most of it curled up on a chair in the kitchen either sleeping or watching in bafflement if I was too noisy.
I hope none of you are too soggy. I ventured out and our slugs are all out having little slug parties:mad:0 -
Cash or YS Fairies (or even House Elves) are all very welcome and will be given a good home, cuddled & stroked so they can tell all their friends where we are and how much we like to be visitedSmall victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0
