Nutty - Has puppy got a soft toy he can cuddle up to? I think he's probably like some children who need a bit of security at night - or maybe a warm hot water bottle wrapped up would do the trick? Could have been the weather too as animals have such acute hearing - Pushkin always needs a cuddle for reassurance during thunder & lightning

Burtha - well done to you & DH to have worked so hard & have a fab time with your children

Burtha so gald you are having a break from juggling everything - you must be worn out. A good blow on the beach will do you all the world of good. Also well done on the debt busting - you will feel greta when itas finally paid off - Im hoping to do the same by Christmas.

Oh's birthday went amazingly well, despite the weather and lck of bar-b- que. My big brother brought Mum so I got to see him for 5 minutes without the Sil from hell  Oh's brother and other Sil came, that was great for us all to see them for a while. Then Dd's oh served up a superb meal cooked at theirs then delivered here - pulled pork, mediteranean veg, corn cobs and baked spuds - perfect, and loads of leftovers. Dgs decided it was his birthday and was dressed as superman. Despite the noise, very full house and chaos he didnt melt down once and even ate his meal :j. Dd put 60 candles on a ys choclate cake and it was like an inferno :rotfl: but was quickly blown out by Oh and dgs then we picked the melted wax off the icicng and hid the mess with squirty cream!

Am exhausted today but need to find everything I tidied away so may be gone some time.

Ginny am so pleased it all went well.

I have been to do my kitty sitting duties and found the conservatory very wet indeed. Yet more towels down. Am hoping for decent weather at end of week so I can get the towels washed and on her line to dry.

Had to pop into Mr A for a few bits and spent way more than I had planned. I did manage to get some uniform and replacement water bottles.

Hospital tomorrow and I am hoping they say he will be ok to take a short break at the end of August.

Morning all, had a very long night. Buddie decided to cry and bark for over 2 hours. In the end I camped out on the sofa and he curled up on the mat next to me to sleep. I am so pooped. Any ideas how to calm him down for bed time??

Going to take mum and both DD out for a couple of hours to do some window shopping. Need a couple of odds and ends but nothing major.

Off for a quick shower, take care all x

Is this the first night he's done this? is he usually ok?

I ask because some of the dog walkers have had the same problem last night and after some discussion we think it could be because of the Moon cycle and it's a strange one (there is a more scientific term I'm sure) at the moment.

One of my cats gets a little loopy on a full moon and he was being a nutter last night so it could be this?

Or I could just be making myself sound a complete balmpot!!

Lyn If your around could I just ask, my DD has the same condition you mentioned your DD had and I'm not asking for any medical advice but I have spent the last week reading up on it and I was wondering did you cut out tomatoes and white spuds?

I hope this isn't medical advice and sorry if it is.

Hi all, DD and said pup are curled up together. We left him for 3 hours today and when we returned he had been really good No mess and everything still inplace!!! So I suppose it could have been the moon.
I got a new quilt cover today from primarni for £10, looks like the one in next so I am really pleased, I have admired it for a time but I cant justify 70 for a quilt cover ever!!

Hope everyone is enjoying the sun shine, take care all x

Morning all, we have had a brilliant nights sleep. Pup was put in his house (dog crate) in DD room, resulting in him curling up for sleep and that's it until OH got up at 430 am for work. He took him downstairs to go in the garden for a wee, then he went back tohis house and curled up and went to sleep until 630. YAY result x
I am blessed with a 14 1/2 hours work today,I expect it will be a very long day again.

    See you all tomorrow x

  • Gob smacked about Robin Williams, so sad :(

I cancelled my fb account a few months ago as I was fed up with the way things were. Friends acting like they were on Jezza but the thing that really got me down was because people know we foster they are always trying to dump lost/injured/unwanted animals on us.

It was really getting me down, serveral messages a day........if i don't help they were going to put it down etc, I'm sure I've told you all before.

Well I opened a brand new account with two of my friends on, next door and a lorry driver. Next door as she sends pictures of my cats playing in her garden (I'm sad I know) and my lorry driver friend as he puts on when he is working/sleeping so I can check before I ring him and don't wake him up.

A long term friend added me and I explained I will have you on my new FB as long as there are NO animal stories what so ever, no injured animals people can't afford to get to the vets etc........ I let her add me last week and this morning I wake up to

"PiC who do u contact to report a dog be left for too many hours, if ur concerned its not being treat well... xx"

REALLY...........I explained to her several times........... I've just fired off a snotty message and said if it happens again I will be removing her, it really upsets me. We foster cats and have our fair share of misery/stories/illness etc come through our doors all the time. I'm so angry at the fact I told her so many times.

I'm I going over the top?

No PiC you are NOT going over the top - its just that once people know they are too idle to find out for themselves. There's enough on the TV to let people know to contact the RSPCA, Blue Cross, PDSA whatever -NOT you - its just you are the easy option - grrrrr
