Hugs to all in need, including wondercollie, nuttyp, silvasava, and very best of luck to Cornish Chick with tomorrow's bbq - hope you raise loads of money and have the happiest time possible yourself.
Had quite a storm here last night, but just girding my loins for tonight's, which I think is forecast to be quite severe .... still, it does save time not having to water the garden!

    Hi all,
Just waiting for someone who is going to remove multitudinous bags of rubbish and take it to the tip. I wish I could say that that is the last of it. How I wish.

We also had a spectacular thunderstorm last night. Almost continuous thunder and lightning and I watch the forked lightning hitting the sea. I also watched the ferry hurrying past as the lightning hit the sea all round it. I bet even the atheists were praying. Not a lot of rain though.

I have 2 runner bean plants that have survived the slugs. I don't understand it, the beer traps are full of corpses in the morning. I can only suppose that they eat their fill of bean plant before drinking themselves to death.

We are never, NEVER going to be packed up by the 28th. People keep offering their help but quite honestly, by the time we've explained what needs doing and said for the thousandth time "not that box, this one," and rushed to hide the manky underwear that NO-ONE should see or we might be forced to kill them, it's quicker and easier to do it ourselves.

Silva: All our love and support. Just keep thinking, "This too will pass."

    Oops! Van drawing up outside.

Monna, loved your post, made me laugh and spit out my tea.

Silva - hope your son recovers quickly.

Not a lot to report here, at the start of my holiday and just looking forward to relaxing.

I had the same thing a few months ago PIC but after a couple of weeks it all calmed down and was fine.

Thanks, last night I could have cheerfully pulled all my teeth out with pliers but today it's just the wisdom tooth I had filled that hurts so it must be calming down.

    Hi All

Have had a horrendous week. DS2 (45) had a massive heart attack on Friday & we have spent days in our local hospital. He is on the mend now but Dr says it will take months not weeks. He and we have had the most incredible care & support from Drs & nurses. I was just beginning to get back to feeling normal & I've had a call to ask me to go back for another Mammogram. I had one a couple of weeks ago They say one side was 'blurred' I do hope so 'cos its the side I've previous surgery on 5 years ago. Off to have a shower to smell nice for Nursie ;)

What a !!!!! time your having, I hope things improve soon for your DS.

Monna I remember when the kids were small and money was really, really tight underwear was at the bottom of my priority list. I would check the putting away pile if anyone was knocking at the door and if my "greys" were showing I would shove them somewhere in the middle of the pile so they weren't on show incase the person knocking wanted to come in :rotfl:

I learn't frugal underwear meant buying black!

Hi all, and thankyou for the kind comments. Yesterday was very emotional and when I came home from work me and OH talked. He appreciates that I need to talk to someone non judgemental and I have to remember to think of myself.
Today I bought a dress, im wearing it now!!! Its just above the knee so very daring for me lol. And some new sandals from new look. I feel great in them. I am still aware I need to loose weight but I will just not overnight. I am going to smile and be happy inside and give a big raspberry to all who think I shouldn't be. That's something that I agreed yesterday, I will also be thinking before I eat - and having my meals at a slower pace iykwim, not doing another job at the same time.

DD and her partner plus ratchet the dog are visiting today for a burger - ratchet is bringing his own food tho. he hasn't been on grass before so that will be fun.

Must sort out some food, will pop back later and catch up with you all. take care x

  • SILVASAVA so sad that your son has had such health issues and that you've all had to deal with them but very relieved for you all that he's making a good recovery. It's wonderful what medicineCAN achieve in this day and age and I hope he continues on to make as full a recovery as is possible and has a good quality of life afterwards, thinking of you all Lyn xxx.

    Greetings to all

Lots of hugs being sent out to those in need, silvasava especially - thinking of you all.

monna - if you are reading, STOP and back to the packing :rotfl:
I am in use up and declutter mode big time. Just found an OOD jelly which has been paired with a tin of fruit for pud later. Some ancient oranges have been squeezed to make 6 HM ice lollies. Found a couple of those big bubble stick/wands so lots of fun with DS7 earlier. Been sifting through various cupboards, drawers etc as I go through each day and using, repurposing, rehoming, recycling or as last resort binning. Its liberating but seems never ending.

Dry/tinned food stocks getting really low (talking 2 tins of baked beans and 1 pack of 9 loo rolls low:eek: )but need the space to clear a whole box room. Leaves me edgy but all for the greater good. I am buying as we need with a spare or 2 of everything until we get the 3rd bedroom ready for habitation. Plan before winter to have decluttered enough to have found a new home for a new food store. Keep thinking as a clear a teeny space that we need to make the best use of space and currently that's not the case.

DH has taken the boys out - joining our county's summer reading challenge and going to a free community fun day that I found as well as picking up a couple of bits of shopping. Right best get back to some more chores and then a nice lunch break and another slosh wash bath (fill bath with a little water and pour it over me with a jug, sort of DIY shower) - so sticky here.

    take care in the heat

    Morning all (ooops, afternoon all)

So muggy and close here again today - we had a really freaky storm cloud/front move in around 8pm, it was like something out of a sci-fi film, the animals and birds all went crazy, this huge roll of cloud (looked like a tsunami) rushed in all tumbly and rumbly with huge lightening flashes in it. I managed to get some photos and film footage of it - I've never experienced anything like it before. Storm rumbled around for hours and then kicked off again around 2am.

DD1 was on the ferry to France at just before 2am and she said it was amazing to watch the storm come in over the channel and move inland. They're about 20 minutes away from their destination in France now - very hot and tired...I think they all underestimated how far they were going and how uncomfortable it would be.
