Princess: Ouch! That sounds really yukky. You just take care of yourself and don't rush the recovery - these things take a long time to get over. Lots of fluids and loads of rest - and no stress, if that's at all possible.
Nursemaggie: I have taken on board what you say about knitting needles. I wonder what I used all those old size 13s for.
Know what you mean about big furniture. Fortunately we are moving from one large Victorian house to another not quite so large one. The wardrobe in my bedroom is enormous and we built it in situ - becoming increasingly aghast at the size of it. One day I'll get to grips with metric measurements. Our lovely removal company has undertaken to take it to bits and re-erect it in my new bedroom. They have also said that they will put the beds together before they leave. This has never happened before and I can't quite believe it.
Kidcat: I'm sort of doing that here, putting a table up on coffee mornings, heaping it with all sorts of rubbish and saying, "Take anything you fancy and leave a donation." The drop-in will profit quite well.
Fuddle: I am actually looking forward to being there. The next three weeks are going to be heart breaking for us and desperately sad for all those people who have tried so desperately to keep us here. Every post brings more cards and letters saying the most lovely things and it gets more and more difficult. it will be good to actually get on that ferry and leave all the grieving behind.
It will be great to be there.

Hope you feel better soon Princess.
I'm similarly indignant with DH on your behalf Kidcat. He needs to listen even if he doesn't do.
Awful evening here, DD has been crying for hours, as Lottie dog is going back to her foster home tomorrow. We always take them for a walk before school so I'm not looking forward to getting her into school tomorrow. In fact tomorrow needs to be just written out of the calendar completely really.0 -
Hugs possession. I hope tomorrow passes quickly for you all.
Princess please take it easy and continue light food and rest. I had did poisoning many years ago and my mum decided it should only last a week. As a consequence I had a relapse and was poorly for much longer than necessary.
PIC hope your headache has now passed
Dd19 had a shock today when she got her first year uni results she's had been comfortably achieving first grades all year in assignments but her exam results were onlya 2 2. It's pulled her overall grade down to 2 1 and I think it's shook her. Turns out she scored less than 50% on the exams. Am not surprised since she wandered off to downdraft the weekend before with the boyfriend when she was supposed to be revising. Am hopeful she thinks twice before pulling a similar stunt again at a crucial time
Have also not shared any information or decisions with OH tonight and simply moved forward with doing things as I choose rather than wait for his opinion. It's surprisingly liberatingso far I have provisionally booked a holiday for the summer and have also agreed a repairer and hire car with the insurance company following the incident I had at the weekend with the car. The idiot who hit the wing mirror is going to faint when he sees how big the claim is going to be, if they agree to repair it the repairs will total over £1000 just to replace a wing mirror and that doesn't include the £500 per week hire car they will provide. The assessor believes they will write the car off as it's so high and I have again agreed to that going ahead of he recommends it.
OH will get a huge shock next week when he arrives home to find his car gone0 -

Oh Possession big hugs to you both.
Kidcat, is there anyway DD can redo that part of her exams?
Monna This is the first time the Mum has contacted in six months and it was only a text before that as when the boys were old enough to tell her how they felt contact broke down.
The boys said they didn't want to travel half way across the country to see her they wanted to be with their friends in the holiday but told their Mum they were happy to see her if she came to visit them in their own town but she said she wasn't happy with this and contact went to nothing. I think she cut her nose off to spite her face IYKWIM she was used to getting her own way at court but when the eldest hit 14 she knew the courts let them make their own mind up.
I've been looking into the menopause and some symptoms fit.
The forgetfulness is something I couldn't work out, like on here by the time I've read through I've forgotten who said what.
I have not patience but I don't know if that is because of all the rubbish I've had the last few years and the pain from the nerve damage in my spine.

Thinking of you all today possession
PIC - no as a 2 1 is considered a pass she cannot resit. I think she is really disappointed though as she was wanting the 1st. She needed the wake up call I think, I did warn her about needing to put the work in but she got complacent with doing so well all year. Hopefully next year she will remember the feeling and all will be well.0 -
KIDCAT I think most first year Uni students have thier freedom go to thier heads in one way or another. I know DD2 failed one module in her first year but was lucky enough to be able to do a resit. However, come graduation day she had the sad knowledge that after that one blip she would be unable to achieve a 1st. I have to say though that the 2.1 she got has been more than enough for her to pursue the medical career she wanted and has been no bar to her future career path so perhaps DD will learn the same lesson from this as mine did and from now on prioritise the work that needs to be ploughed through before thingking of her social life. Give her a hug from me and please let her know there is still a good job waiting for her with her 2.1, Lyn xxx.0
