Good morning all, I woke up with a major migraine today. I took one of the tablets the doctor prescribed for me, not working fully yet.
Took mum to aldi, and we used the remainding voucher off our shopping. Picked up a sun newspaper, free voucher for £5 of fruit and veg. Free potatoes anyone ????? what about asparagus or cherries?????

I have work this after noon, totally don't fancy it.

Mrs LW glad HWK is feeling better, remember to rest yourself!!!
Kidcat I hope your feeling a bit more yourself today. I have days like that just need to take 5 mins and relax.

Cant remember who asked but aldi have stairgates in for £15.....

    Take care all x

Afternoon ladies :) thanks for putting up with my moaning yesterday. I think the fact that this half term is much longer than usual is taking its toll. I tried to talk to OH last night about how I was feeling but he got angry that he was missing watching his TV programmes before bed so I gave up. I think I have got to find my way to getting my mind into single parent mode rather than expect him to be a part of things.

Monna - if you end up taking too much its not a bad way to start at a new church - as you unpack you can have a sort out and then either donate to the church sale (assuming they have one) or run a table sale yourself and its a good way to get to meet the new parishioners :)

PIC - sorry I totally forgot to say yesterday I think as long as your step sons know they have you and can talk about their mother if they wish I wouldnt poke too much at the wound.

I think its wrong that children can be forced to see parents if they dont want to, the damage it can do the child to force a relationship far out weighs the positives. And families like yours end up bearing the brunt of a silly court decision taken with no idea of the consequences.

Monagan - I can't help with the sorting, wish I could, but we moved away from West Sussex. I can help with the knitting needles. If you have not used the very fine ones for years get rid of them. Throw all the bent ones and all the odd ones out and keep at least two pairs of those you use the most often. I threw out loads of the old size 8 and lost 1 of my 4mm same size. Had to buy some more. Going to have to go buy circular needles now so many patterns are knitted on them these days. I like short needles so got rid of all my long ones so I can't just knit on long needles no way you can 250 stitches on a short needle.

The cost of a removal van do not take anything you don't use. Half my furniture went back could not get it in the door. We came from a large early Victorian house to a small 2 bed with a very tiny hall and tiny front room. Could not get my wardrobe up the stairs so it is in my office, (front room) full of linen and towels. We had to buy flat pack to get one upstairs. DS is sick of having to put one door back on every time I use it.

MOS thanks for the heads up re voucher.
I managed to snag the very last copy of the sun paper in the whole town..
I am thinking of investing it in things I can dehydrate, but are not growing in my garden ie mushrooms, peppers strawberries. Any ideas?

Sending a burst of positive thoughts and strength to every one , seems we are all having a bit of a time of it one way or another.

Lyn what a lovely GP you have. Keep taking the tablets, as my Gran used to say, and look after yourselves.

Glad to be feeling better myself after a few days with a nasty tummy bug and stonking back ache. Being poorly certainly puts everything else into perspective for us all doesn't it? sheila I think you suffer more than most of us put together and wish we could do more than listen and sympathise and send support. I hope you can get some relief from the pain.

I' d appreciate some bright ideas if you have any on what Dd can give DH for his birthday next month (52). She wants to get a little hamper and fill it for him but we are stuck for ideas - he's a keep fit fanatic so chocs and sweets are out, he doesn't read much (unless it's about running and keep fit) and only uses basic toiletries, no fancy stuff! I usually buy him running shirts and socks when I find some on offer so he has a stash of those too. All suggestions gratefully received.

Another lovely day here but the wind's getting up so may bring rain tomorrow.

Head and wrist bands, packets of trail mix, banana chips and nuts/seeds,isotonic drinks, a microfibre large towel to use after showering, a cold pack/heat pack for possible strains, blister plasters....... If I can think of anything else I'll add it later.

He Who Knows has suggested that if he runs at night particularly in the winter when it's dark a flashing light to pin on his clothing for visibility might be at idea or a reflective sash to wear (like the cyclists wear) would do the same job.

It's kind of sad I will be reading your last magazine Monna but pleased I can share in the good byes. It's only the Solent eh? Your new town looks bloomin' lovely and although I keep trying to pin you down for how you are coping I just hope you are excited and positive about the move even though you will be surrounded by sadness from those who love you on t'other side of that little stretch of water. It's good to move on ;)

kidcat I'm sorry your OH couldn't bring himself to miss his TV to talk about something so flaming important. It's not fair for him to sherk responsibilities when he gets home. Running the house and kids has to be a joint effort with joint planning and discussion. For him to leave it to you to deal with is one thing but for him to not be a support/listener is below the belt!

    Evening everyone.

Haven't had time to get online. As i have had food poising for the past 10 days. So just been feeling really sorry for myself.

It seems nothing has changed here. But TBH all the while i have been poorly i haven't done very much. So mainly just coming on to say that i am thinking of you all.

    Hope everyone is well. xx
