((((((((((((((meanmarie))))))))))) thinking of you, always here when you need a bunch of friends

Hope Oh is having a better day today ginny.

Mcculloch - I am angry on your behalf although I know that won't help you. Its horrible being burgled but as you say not the end of the world, only "stuff" at the end of the day. As long as you are ok, that's the main thing. Love your attitude and know what you mean - 1st time I broke down in my car on my own in the evening miles from home, 1st time someone crashed into my car, 1st time I had to call 999 - remember the strange relief afterwards that I had coped. You are surely due some good luck now to balance things out... hope its a big piece of good luck.

lovely to hear from you CC. you are doing so well, just keep on keeping on or doing nothing much as you have been. Glad the pension arrangements are sorted. You made me laugh re the hellish! When I had my own flat many moons ago, the previous people had painted around everything, cupboards, shelves, pictures etc so when I moved in I had to try and put my stuff where theirs once was until I got each room decorated. Yes that flat was full of surprises :D not least the carpet of toenail clippings in the living room and the flea infested carpet in the bathroom - makes our scruffy house seem quite elegant in comparison :rotfl:

Glad one dentist appointment is over and done with kidcat. yes part of my joining a gym is to strengthen my back and loose weight which also helps with my back and pelvic problems. However every time my back is bad I can't manage the gym. Chicken and egg eh? I have ordered a back care book to help with posture etc and some of the exercises the gym instructor gave me to do to strengthen my back say in the book - good for that purpose BUT AVOID if you have lower back problems???
I am brainstorming at the mo ideas to help my back including paying for supermarket delivery for the heave stuff.... really won't like paying for delivery but if my back is bad I can't do other OS stuff anyway. I have had this for 25 years and I guess I need to accept that age isn't exactly going to improve it so best be as practical as possible.

Have an extra lad for dinner and the noise coming from just 3 boys is really something!

off to feed said boys who have been doing sports all day, big portions needed....

Nuatha thanks for the input over dogfish. I have heard it is relatively easy to fillet too. We shall see what tonight brings. :)

Nice to see you posting CC I am in awe of how you are coping, how you are being positive and proactive. I'm under no illusion as to how hard it is for you but you are an inspiration to me. I've grown up in the shadows of loss through cancer and I think had my mam had your strength I would have been a very different person. x

Well we nipped to the park this afternoon after school. Freebie fun in the sun (if we ignored the breeze)

The lady next door has cut back my hedge with her electric gadget :D I am ever so grateful as I have done it twice this season with my hand secateurs.

Tea is chicken salad with boiled pots and bread and butter.

Tonight will be spent looking online at Good Food for some summer cooking inspiration.

I also would like to look into iced tea. My grandma always said that there is nothing quite like a hot cup of tea to cool you down in the summer but I just can't fathom that way of thinking (sorry gran!) I would like to make something myself to have in a jug in the fridge... maybe some infused water etc?

Brilliant washing drying day although my tightly planned day nearly feel apart when I wasn't able to nip home between calls to hang out the washing because of a bridge closure. Spitting and feathers. All is sorted and washing very nearly dry though :)

Feeling tired but will crochet a little of my blanket tonight. I really don't think it will be finished in time for Autumn. That's the trouble with being a national trust member... they all have gift shops which contain lovely woollen blankets!

SQ , mr T and MR A are doing some slots for a pound, I can't drive there for that.. So might be worth looking into.

Anyways :j:j I finished, the hellish trellis has been beaten into submission.. It Was a good fight but I won. Just don't look to closely at some of the joints :j:j.

Now for my next trick I will make the wine inside this bottle disappear:D..

    Hugs n love XCC

Pooky thanks for the warning, it seems today to be just the eye with no sneezing or coughing but I am watching carefully

McC - nothing prepares you for a break in, each time we were broken into we increased the locks and security and it at least made me feel I had done something. It takes time to settle afterwards as well, so be patient with yourself. ((hugs))

SQ - My back is bad this week, but I went to the gym anyway yesterday knowing I would not be up to it for a few days. I took it easier than normal and strolled on the treadmill etc, my old physio always said it was better to do a little rather than stopping entirely. I think you are right to look at how you live and shop etc, if you can prevent flare ups while you get strengthened it will make life much more bearable.

CC well done with the trellis, our fence and sheds all need doing but OH will never manage the time so it begins to look like I will have to find time somewhere.

I have managed to get up this morning, blitz tidy the house, get kids ready for school, get washing on the line and more in the machine, empty DW and reload, drive kids to school (I stayed in car while DD19 ran them in) quick shop as OH decided to tell me this morning we needed bread and cat litter! Home, shopping away, more washing out and into machine, eat breakfast and be sat down by 10am. Took my pain meds and was asleep by 11am.
Slept until 2.00 thankfully, then did yet more washing, got dinner cooked and then drove DD19 to school to collect kids.
Home to discover DD8 homework is due tomorrow and needed major adult input which DD19 did most of, while I finished dinner, prepped packed lunches, washed more washing and got stuff from line into airing cupboard.
Finally sat down by 5.30 to eat. Not bad for someone who was on bed rest today and having a light do nothing day!! :)

Counting the minutes until I can pop some more pain meds, then I am hopeful I can go back to sleep now OH has arrived home.

Kidcat I hope you got a good nights sleep x

McCI hope they catch the f*ckers! I thought breaking into the charity shops was low but peoples houses is the lowest of the low because the upset is so much worse.

My check up at the Dentist was a nightmare, I have to have a filling re done and my root canal extracted as the root is coming through my gum and has caused an abscess. It has been like that for a few years now but enough is enough :o so July is E day.

  • Morning Toughies, we had a really nice day with DD and Zebra yesterday, I got to take him for another walk and this time he was happily awake in his pushchair, chatted away to me and Freddie the Firefly (favourite toy) and anyone else who caught his eye and didn't get even vaguely upset at any point. We were out for an hour and a half too, great fun!!! We even had a really smooth run back home in the evening, the motorways were running well, can only be good.

FUDDLE well done that Mr Fuddle, sea bream indeed??? I'm frankly envious as it's delicious fish, enjoy every succulent mouthful and I wish him much fishing success in the sea for the future. Pleased for you too that the school are extending the end of the day by 10 minutes, must give you peace of mind that DD is safer until you pick her up.

McCULLOCH Ggggggrrrrrrrrrrr, little perishers don't begin to consider the consequences of thier actions for other people, I hope they are found, stopped and duly chastised for stealing your property and I think you're amazing for your attitude to the theft, I'd have wanted them minced at the very least!!! Good on you.

BURTHA hope all is well with DD and first grandchild, it's so worth the wait when they do arrive, you'll enjoy every second, chin up petal it'll be OK , it's the waiting that's the hardest!!!

Have a good day all, Lyn xxx.
