  • Morning Toughies, what a difference a day makes (well, a nights sleep anyway!!!) tried for damage limitation last night and before it got dark put the radio on in the study, pulled the curtains and turned on the light. Got Docky boy out for a wee at 8.30 and didn't pull downstairs curtains in the lounge so hoped he'd not trigger his anxiety. 9 o clock ish he started looking worriedly at the windows so I went upstairs and left doors open and went to bed and he followed after a few minutes and paced about on the landing, looking into the bedroom once in a while. Then he came in and I'd put one of his old blankets on the floor and after a bit of pacing he just settled on it. I read for a little while to let him settle and then turned off the light and bless him, he slept the night through and so did I!!!

Going to be another hot day here so we're off for a walk as soon as I've finished typing and then the day is free form, I was so tired yesterday I didn't plan anything for today but think it will be changing bedding, a bit of ironing and floor washing and He Who Knows will be back for this afternoon so the lurcha will be much happier, Have a good day everyone, Lyn xxx.

    Morning ladies

Things have been so hard here it's been difficult to keep up. I have been reading as much as possible but haven't had a minute to post.
So am sending blanket hugs to all while I pace the treadmill at the gym.

Have got trip to vet to fit in today as madame has eye infection this morning then this afternoon I am off for another dental sedation. I am dreading it but know I have to go through with it.

It means tomorrow is a writer off and dd will have to get everyone sorted. If I can't drive then the kids won't be going to school as OH could only have today off work.

    Hallo everyone! Lovely day again!

Does anyone know where I can buy soap leaves?

They are small (about one and a half inches square) slivers of soap. You peel off one or two to use for washing the odd clothes item when on holiday. I've got a small pack of them, but am running very low and am off on holiday at the weekend, so would like some more. I have tried the travel sections in supermarkets, and also my local hardware store, but no joy.

I can't remember where I bought the ones I've got, 'cos I only ever use them on holiday, and then not on every holiday, so I've had them ages and can't remember where I got them!

  • PYXIS I've got them in the past from the camping section in Wilkinsons, they come in a little blue plastic container, haven't looked this year though but if they don't have them somewhere like Milletts or Blacks will certainly do them, Lyn xxx.

Yes, that's them! I can't risk ordering online, as my hol is so close, but I can have a look in my local Wilkinson's!

    Many thanks! :):)

    Hi everyone.

Been a while since I posted here. Mainly because I have been redecorating and just haven’t had the time.
I managed to redo the entire kitchen for under £20 which I am please at, Just need to put some pennies aside for some new machine= (Actifry) <OH choice.

We are also noticing a difference since I have gave up smoking. Although, I hate going out more now than ever, Because I can smell smokers a mile away and the smell is just unreal. I cant believe for 10 years I smelt like that. Further more, Without knowing it, I have made the entire house stink.

I always smoked outside, But its everywhere. The sofa, Bedding, you name it. So I have been on a mad hunt to track down the smell and do everything possible to rid the smell. Any frugal tips?

Anyways - Must dash, Hope everyone is well x
    Future goals:
    Become debt free.
    Beat Depression.
    Be happy & healthy

PX - try bicarb as a carpet freshener, and also a tray of it left in a wardrobe will begin to remove the smell ;)
