Morning all, more weeding to be done here today, but I'm trying to persuade DD to come with me to the outlet centre as I want to look for some shorts. I may just go on my own.
Spend less now, work less later.
  • Morning Toughies, another very long and disturbed night with the Dockling, he wouldn't stop trying to dig his way out of both the front and back door as soon as it got dark. That's the trigger for him and his association with being frightened so off he goes, pacing, panting and looking at the dark windows. Pulling the curtains seems to make it worse. He was completely unreachable again. DD suggested putting some music on in the study and leaving the light on which worked a little in that he laid in the hallway outside the study but was still very upset. Finally at 2.30ish he came into the lounge and got into his armchair and went deep asleep, at which point I went upstairs (he wouldn't even climb the stairs earlier in the evening) and thankfully fell asleep and slept until 7.30 so much better this morning. He is still anxious and panting this morning but I can't see why, there's nothing obvious but then his hearing is much better than mine and who knows what he's picking up. Wish me luck for tonight, I think I'm going to need it.

WONDERCOLLIE yes the Bowel Cancer Testing kits are the cardboard and spreader ones, not the most pleasant of tasks but I'm a great believer in prevention being better than cure so will always take this type of testing and feel grateful for it.

I don't think a thundershirt would make any difference to the hound, it's in his head that the problem is and I'm at a loss as to what to do. Can only hope he settles down soon and that this is just a phase that will pass. Have a good day everyone, Lyn xxx.

I had a cairn/pomeranian cross who looked like a cairn but had a pom tail - he was the sweetest dog who loved my kiddies hugging him, totally devoted to me to the point of stupidity. However given the chance would try and kill any dog however big and beheaded next doors rabbit

Lyn just found an article about an Adaptil collar which releases pheromones for 4 weeks. Thought it might be worth a look on their website and see if theres any feedback - Adaptil.com.

Its drizzly and mizzly here so garden on hold and me with my feet up. Dgs has been practising his cuteness this weekend, he could charm the birds off the tree's.He now does big boy wee's on the toilet - such a milestone- to hear him thunder up the stairs and give cheer when he does it :rotfl:

    Saving every single penny.
    I will get my caravan
  • Thank you so much GINNY I'll do a bit of research and show He Who Knows when he comes home tomorrow, anything that helps will be amazing, Lyn xxx.

Morning all, its a damp start here. Yesterday we went to Skegness and ended up having a pleasant wander round. OH managed to finally find some of those trousers where you can unzip the legs and make them into shorts. As it was nearer the end of the day we managed to get 3 pairs for £20. Total bargain as on landofbay they are lots more.
This morning I will be taking a lovely rose plant to my dads grave, I find it so hard to visit - makes it all real again that hes gone. Another reason why I keep myself so busy.

Good afternoon everyone. I'm back from my Turkish adventure all in one piece but with badly swollen feet from the heat.
Haven't had time to read back yet - what with late flights and washing mountain but will catch up later.
Left blue sky and temps of 39(too hot) to arrive back in grey misty drizzle - dear old North East.:)
    Bye for now.

Lyn one of the labs near us has got one of those collars that release (summat):p the owner was telling us today.

She is a proper working dog and never sat still for a second and hardly slept, with the collar on she is so laid back she's like a different dog.

I don't know how much they are I forgot to ask but he got his from the vets. He tried it as she had cut her shoulder on some wire and was trying to calm her down while she healed and gave her stitches time to work

AOT Glad to have you back, I hope you had a wonderful time x

The Advil plug-ins really helped calm Lottie when we brought Sapphie home. Shut in a room with it on overnight she was a different dog the next morning.

WONDERCOLLIE....I got ulcer through taking anti inflamatories , so I take 2 esomaprazole daily, but sometimes it still hurts away with the tabs so i have them gaviscon tabs or the liquid........

Been cloudy today , pity cos it has been very warm and sunny all last week...My son came and done the hens for me, cut the back grass, and a hedge and topped the bird feeders up, so that has helped me a lot, so ive been able to rest my feetlets........We desperately need rain , my butts are empty and garden dry.....

AOT...Glad youve had a good break , I love Turkey its so cheap we went last October and it was 28 degrees then but lovely....

    LYN...Your poor dog...xxx
