evening toughies - stilty wonderful news on the move. Getting a house that meets your needs is a major bonus
Mardatha - have you tried costco cat food - I have a sack I can send you a sample if you need one? One of our breeders told us to use it and I have to say all of ours prefer it now. Having looked around alot of good breeders are swapping and there is a certain amount of controversy over the RC stuff due to a recipe change I believe.
Nutty - well done and congratulations, so pleased you have got it.
Just a thought stilty - if the shed was to be used half for storage and the other half as a sensory area type thing, I bet there would be grants available?
McC - glad you found a better way of getting around - I still always imagine you on a trike though
I have been mega busy, helping with SATs this morning, shopping and getting everything ready for tonight in case DD19 was on her own, as I spent the afternoon in the city childrens hospital with DD8 for allergy testing. Oh my, it was ugly!! There were a few pin !!!!! needles and a pin !!!!! blood test - DD gets very nasty at the thought of a needle and I usually pass out. Thankfully I stayed upright but she got nasty and loud!!
Last nights dinner went surprisingly well, and the visit went okish. They didnt stay long as DD8 told them we were going out straight away - which wasnt entirely true, but she had misunderstood my earlier instructions and I didnt complain. Have been bombarded with texts today though based on any info they gleaned. So DD8 told them DD19 was ill - had three messages demanding info on how ill, what was wrong, had we done doctors etc?? She had a virus which I had told them. Then DD8 mentioned tests in school - again I said we wouldnt get the results they were internal only - two texts asking about results - when he would be told, why I wouldnt tell him etc.
Have stopped replying as he doesnt actually listen to the answer, just enjoys bombarding for more information.
Tomorrow is yet more SATs followed by gym! Then am off to collect DD19 and deliver her to DS10 school, then collect DS16 for his OT session. Thursday follows similar lines and I am exhausted thinking about it0 -
The rollator is just for bus trips and as a trolley round the house, Kidcat, nothing can replace my darling trike! He will still be having his runs up to friends' houses, Aldi, Savers, Wilko and Heron with the odd venture to the docs and the sorting office.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... Trying to stay up to speed but a bit busy ATM with planting etc but wanted to say a big whoopeeee to Stiltz !! Don't forget Family fund etc they do sheds apparently and OT may even be able to help as part of the adaptations if its for equipment storage.
Got tons of washing to do,ironing and housework, that's without the breadmaking and baking but I'm a going oot the jungle its much more fun! Have a great day all XXX0 -
Morning all
Nutty - Fab news - well done you! Hope DH had a lovely birthday.
Kidkat - At least your DD isn't allergic to cake - looked like a very tasty one in her picture
Looks like a glorious day here, supposed to be very dry and warm over the weekend which will be great for the garden - my courgette plants seemed to have stopped growing....the peas are flowering and the beans are just finding their poles. I did a lot of digging earlier in the week to change the shape of a bed/lawn, it's too wet to dig today so the weekend looks promising for garden shenanigans.
DD2 went for her prom hair trial last night, it's going to look beautiful - I'm treating her to some highlights too as she's feeling very stressed with her exams and very low in self esteem at the moment. She was doing a lot of dance and exercise at school but when it all stopped for exam prep she lost the enthusiasm to carry on and has put some weight on. I think the whole getting dressed up, nice hair and a lovely evening out will do her the world of good."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
PIC how is the pooch situation going? I saw on FB there are some new leads for dogs with a traffic light colour scheme, as in green is ok, orange if ok on a lead, red for not good, please leave us alone!! Well you get the drift, I wish we could have had one when we had our dog. We would have red just so no stupid people with puppys, would think all dogs want to say hello. Our never did he just wanted to have a walk.
Well here is my news, today I had the interview for the managers job. I am having my contract increased to 35 hrs a week, even tho this week I am doing 48!!! It means more holiday pay. I start on the 1st june on a secondment as the manager of the shop but I have to complete a training programme, as soon as I have completed half that's it all mine! I feel really happy, apprehensive about the responsibility, but I already do it but without the title or pay.
take care all x and thankyou for your support as ever.
Well done on the job Nutty, I never doubted you for a minute.
Regarding the dog situation he still keeps trying to walk up to us so as soon as I see him I go completely the opposite direction. He's got to get the message soon surely?
One of the other dog walkers saw his dog run full speed into a bench that he couldn't see so they told me they were reporting him which I've replied that is up to them and it's not my argument but it's funny how people come out of the woodwork isn't it? He will undoubtedly think it's me.
I looked at the leads and I think I may purchase one so it leave no one in any doubt she is not to be jumped on.
I'm going to take her to puppy school as it's now left me on edge which will make her on edge. They are scary people at dog school but they know their stuff and they were set up for the GS breed. I think if I get a lead, dog school and she is on a lead at all times when he's around I can do no more and if he let's his dog off he is just asking for it to get hurt.
I've got a chest infection at the mo which seems to have spread to my ears and making me woozy but not in a good way so I'm probably not making any sense :rotfl:

Morning all,
Bit of a slow start today but finally made it to the desk.
PIC--it sounds like you're doing your very best with the leads and the school and the worry. It will stand you in good stead if there are any more confrontations as it sounds as if he isn't doing anything. Chest infections are no fun. I hope yours is on its way out!
Nutty--Congratulations! While I know you were a bit worried about going for it, I think it is fantastic that all of your hard work has been recognized. The holiday pay will be nice too.:D
Pooky we're meant to get nice weather too, but only until Friday. Still, I'll take what I can get! My confidence always takes a nose dive when I don't get my usual exercise in--not just physical confidence, but in everything. It sounds like you're giving her a real boost. Any chance you could encourage some walks or some sort of fresh air and sunshine for breaks?
Kidcat--I'm exhausted thinking about it. I try to go to the gym MWF. I don't do any classes, but like I said above, it does a world of good for ME. Glad to hear you're enjoying it. The first time I went I got thrown off the treadmill when my earbuds got tangled and knocked my glasses off. There were these three women on the bank of machines behind me...they were so confident and looked like they belonged there...their sympathy was so embarrassing. I always try to smile and then look away at anyone new in the gym now, just in case anything happens they would rather I didn't see!!!:rotfl:0 -
Just popped in to say - Well Done Nutty :T:T
Mar - My girlie just licks too & she's 10!! We've had her 5 years & she would only eat dried cat food as she'd never been fed anything else. She now eats Aldi sachets with gravy but I have to mash it up as she'll ignore any 'lumps'. She also quite likes the tomato juice from my sardine tin :rotfl: Still can't get her to use the garden instead of a litter tray but DH has taken on that job - bless!
Hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine todaySmall victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -

PIC, sorry if this has been mentioned before or I have got the wrong end of the stick but my DD who is off to vet uni later this year alerted me to the following site. You wear a yellow ribbon or put one on your dogs collar and it indicates that your dog needs space, we have a local man who's dog hates other dogs with a passion and he always has one on his dogs collar. We are thinking about getting one for one of our border collies as he loves other dogs but is scared of people.

I have a yellow lead for Lottie which has 'I need space' printed all over it but I don't think it's made a blind bit of difference to people approaching her unfortunately. Hopefully the campaign will become more well known though.
The freezer repair man has been and replaced 'the main board' (apparently there are 3) but the ****** thing is still beeping.0 -
The one I was looking at is bright pink with caution written on.
She loves most dogs but the partially blind one that banged into her was a GS and now she's not keen on them even though she's one herself.
Maybe I'm going about it all wrong, she just needs to look at herself in the mirror :rotfl:
She does think every tennis ball in the whole world belongs to her though! as the other three dogs couldn't give a monkeys she gets them all to herself at home.
mos Our Collie is scared of people as well I think a lot of them are.
Pets eh?
On the plus side we do have some blue tits nesting in the bird box on the lottie x
