I think I would email them asking what the instructions were regarding the fridge and that way at least the information will be given and made sure it's understood next time or there is a problem and then they can sort it.

Possession - I would politely ask school, you may be right and he may have forgotten etc, but if you ask school know that next time they need to provide better instruction, written down with the ingredients is great as you will see that. Or they know they need to provide proper storage facilities.

PIC - hope things settle with dog issues soon for you, lovely birdie pictures ;:)

FPK - I am just about fitting the gym in, but if I can't make it one day I don't feel any guilt at missing. I figure even once a week is better than never :)

Another long day again here, squeezed gym in first thing. Tomorrow is just as busy, but there is no space to do gym, so I will skip. My friend joined at the same time as is doing one hour a day, she has gone a little obsessional as only she can, but I am keeping to my original boundaries of going when I can manage.
DS10 broke his glasses today so I will need to fit a glasses repair in tomorrow.

Kittens are flying through the house like mad beasts at the moment, the older two look on in disgust :)

Happy BIrthday McCulloch29 - hope you have had a lovely day :)
  • SILVASAVA if the chicken hasn't been frozen before you made it into schnitzles then it's fine to freeze it before you cook it. I buy pork schnitzles from Al*i and freeze then in thier packets and they are fine when defrosted and cooked. If the chicken has been frozen then it would be better to cook them before you freeze them. Hope that helps Lyn xxx.

Bless you Lyn - thought you probably could & my chicken was fresh. Will remember for next time :) will also look out for the pork ones too!
Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle

Well its done - we signed on the dotted line and the house is ours! And so begins the mad decorating of the new house and packing up of the old. Will be sad to leave here but quite looking forward to starting from fresh somewhere that will be more suitable for us, and of course we have the security that you just don't get in private lets so it will be worth doing all those things which will make life easier.

Have sussed out a decent sized shed for the garden and it's a bargain at only £219. Got masses to do tomorrow though and got to take DD to have some special eye test done as well which will account for most of the day. At least I managed to get my essay finished today - going to give it another read through tomorrow before submitting it and then that is another module finished and I can get on with housey stuff.

Catch you all later - tons to do! - X

Cheers Kidcat - it's an ERG so apparently have to sit in the dark for about 20mins to accustom or something. The sun's not a problem though as she has special permission for reactalights as she is bad in bright sun anyway. X

Thats good - I always forget to take the blinking hat and am left scrabbling around the car for dark glasses or hat afterwards.

Great news Stilty - security for you & yours now. Decorating can be done on an as & when basis where possible, a few coats of mongolia paint will let you get on & then you can take your time to decide what character each room has while you pick up /make bits for it.

    Morning!

I'm having a tough time OS wise at the moment. Yesterday there were no leftovers for my lunch, so I made myself a sandwich. Halfway through eating it I looked down and saw mould on the bread. I at around it and have suffered no ill effects since, but maybe I'll check more carefully next time!

I've also had to buy a new printer. I did loads of research and bought the one that had the cheapest refurbished cartridges available. I've since used up the ink that came with it, ordered a new cartridge only to find that it refuses to print with the "counterfeit" refurbished cartridge. I'm pretty frustrated--while cost is my primary motivation I also don't see the sense in not reusing cartridges, either through refilling or buying refurbs. I've googled but I can't seem to find a way to convince the printer otherwise. :( It seems a little underhanded that a company would make its product intentionally incompatible with generic refills and I won't be buying from this particular company again.

The glorious weather forecast has been extended to include Saturday. Unfortunately this also means more encounters with a certain neighbour. He seems much better in himself and has been doing up his garden. However, he also came knocking, asking to borrow money for food the day before yesterday. OH answered and said we didn't keep cash in the house. I probably would have offered food, OH said he didn't think of that. Another set of neighbours who have known him much longer apparently gave him something. Normally I'd help a neighbour out, but in this instance I fear it would turn into a regular thing and we can't really afford that, nor do we want to invite more interaction. Yesterday I ran into him coming home from the gym. He was out in his front garden having a wee (yes!) and turned round as I was unlocking ours. He was showing me some cat food he had bought with apparently the last of his money. I realised we had a fair amount that ours wasn't going to eat in the same brand he had bought so I've given that to him. Would like to make up a food parcel, but that will only invite more interaction and that is something we have tried to minimize--particularly as his friends have done things like throw fireworks at the house, had loud and abusive rows at all hours, threatened other neighbours for looking out their windows when their drug dealer came round etc.

Kidcat--Once a week is fab and definitely no guilt if you don't make it. Sometimes it just helps to have that little bit of time blocked out for yourself though!
