PIC wait until she knows why she's been called before you go into panic mode, it might be that they can't find the slide from the original smear or something very simple like an infection. Holding you tight lovie, please let us know what happens, we're here for you and there with you, Chin up, Love Lyn xxx.0

PIC big hugs!
It could be a million things--they lost the slide, didn't get a good sample, or the results were 'inconclusive' which just means a do-over. Even if the results come back abnormal it just means they'll investigate further to make sure. Try not to worry!0 -
Abnormal cells
The nurse is trying to get her an appointment for the hospital. DD has been going through a terrible time already so this is the icing on the cake for her.
It absolutely guts you when your kids are hurting doesn't it?

PIC if they can catch these things early enough, and that's the whole point of screening, they can treat and cure most things, the problems come if they get left. It's not a comfy place to be for you both right now but knowing means it can be dealt with and quickly at that so there is every reason to expect a good outcome. Trying times love but you'll get through them and be strong while they're happening. We're always here for you, always willing to listen, always thinking of you, it will be OK, Lyn xxx.0

PIC there are lots of false positives for these too, I had one, and at the repeat test nothing was found. But the important thing is that she was screened and if there is something to be found, it can be treated. (((hugs))) for you and your DD, I know there's no point telling you not to worry.0

It's always on a Friday isn't it?
I know all the sensible advice and I have had friends have the same thing and even had to go in with one of them
Sometimes it would just be nice to get a break, I know there are people in a far worse situation and I should be grateful.
I thought now DH is coming out the other side of his breakdown I would get a chance to have mine.........sure it's my turn!

Pic - Abnormal cells are not uncommon & they are treated very promptly. I know that you and your daughter are worried but as Possesion has said if they have any concerns it WILL be treated (Hugs too)
Mrs L - We found a slow worm too! He was hiding under my folded up boat cover & Pushkin found him first so we rescued him & put him in a safe place (back of the compost bins!) I havn't seen one in my garden for years so it was a really welcome surprise.Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -
PIC just HUGS and lots more HUGS , and always thinking of you both. You're stronger than you feel love, or you wouldn't still be on your feet and still fighting the world. You'll get through this and come out the other side and she'll be there with you and love you more than ever for being her secure place in a difficult world, Lyn xxx.0

((((((((PIC))))))) Abnormal cells are quite common. I had them about 20 years ago and needed a re-test then a colposcopy and then treatment. This is a good chance your DD will just have to have another smear or colposcopy (simple test.) Even if the results show something, treatment is very effective. I had one appointment (just at the docs) and the dodgy cells were zapped away with lazer and never returned. I had to have regular smear tests each year and a few years ago was told I can now just have the usual 3 (or is it 5?) yearly smears. I worried myself silly at the time and wished I hadn't.
sorry just read your latest post and realise you know about abnormal cells etc. Leaving my post though in case it helps anyone else. Be kind to yourself, do what you need to get things off your chest and try to take time to unwind. All things pass and then you will be due a calm and happier period of your life. We are all here thinking about you and your DD and sending positive thoughts and warm hugs

I am struggling to keep up with posts at the moment. I have a bit more energy in the day so getting more done and then more tired in the evening. I am trying to prioritise what's most important and one thing is the gym. I have only been twice this week but it has made such a difference to my wellbeing, I even sleep better after I have been. My weight hasn't changed but for the first time today I could see a small improvement around my waist and my jeans were a teeny bit looser. Yipeee!!!!!!!!!!!! Also enjoying the shower after so much (I have to wash my long hair with a jug at home)
Had a nice day today, a birthday breakfast with friends for one of our number's birthday, a quick browse in a couple of chazzas, a few sale bargains (children's gifts to put away) elsewhere and a lovely sunny day with washing on the line. I have no summer trousers (or skirts or dresses for that matter) that still fit me and I have scoured the charity shops when I have had a spare hour this week and now have 3 loose linen/cotton pairs for about £7 in total, one new pair from Neckts with the tag still on. Lucky me. I am gradually getting rid of my cleared out (too small) clothes to charity shops as I pass by and made up a bag for a slimmer friend - only given her kids clothes before so wasn't sure how she would react but she was thrilled and gave me a lovely toiletry set as a thank you.
Enough rambling, promised DS9 a "go" on my lappy, stripey cat is meowing pitifully for his dinner and guess I had better get our dinner on....
