PIC I am sorry you are having to go through this with everything else.

My DD had this when she was in her early 30s, was dealt with in day surgery and she is coming up 42 now. It isn't any good my saying don't worry because of course you are worried, but just think what a good thing we have screening, and as everyone has said if it needs treatment the earlier the better.

Can I just say your latest post on your blog is excellent and I read it out to my DH. You have such a way with words, just like MLW..

Sending lots of hugs to you and your DD.

    Much love

PIC - Hope everything is ok x (reminds me I must make an appointment for my test)

SQ - Glad you're making some time for the gym (and enjoying the showers) Washing your hair with a jug is never fun...I'm off to get my hair all cropped again at the weekend - I had it past my shoulders for a while but just got fed up with it - had it cut silly short and will never grow it back again - I can towel dry it in 2/3 mins, a bit of wax through it and done.

What a gorgeous afternoon - so warm and sunny here, have done some gardening in between working and sitting on my swingy swing. Have dragged the BBQ out to cook tonights dinner on (burgers) and I shall enjoy a bit of al fresco dining and bat watching as the dusk falls. I'm a cheap date :)

Hi all, back from sunny Lincolnshire and ready for my own bed once I retrieve the book Im reading from somewhere amongst my luggage. I my bath, mattress and Dgs :D greenhouse full of huge seedlings demanding attention so will ahve to get onto it when Dgs goes home on Sunday.

We popped in a lovely garden centre - god knows where - one the way home ( for a wee wee ) and beside buying some lovely geraniums and daisys I also got offered a job :rotfl: the lady was desperate for someone who knew their asters from their elbows and offered to set a tent up for me to live in.

Had a truly frugal time, happily, but did buy some nice warm slippers. came home with half the spends budget still in Oh's wallet :j

I'm glad you had a good time Ginnyknit didn't you fancy living in a tent? :rotfl:

    Thank you everyone for yesterday.

The earliest appointment the nurse could make for DD was 7th June which I thought was still quite a wait so I thought we could ring for any cancellations as some people may have the decorators in and have to cancel theirs IYKWIM

DD has been so upset lately, she had a flare up of psoriasis on her face which was made worse by the chemicals used in the kitchens at work. The more she worried about it the worse it got and her anxiety levels hit the roof as people were staring and commenting. She works for a well known supermarket and after having a couple of weeks off work she went back with a "fit note" which clearly stated no chemicals and no working with food, with gradual build up to her normal working hours.

I appreciate there are only a few jobs at a supermarket that don't involve handling food but when she returned they stuck her back on where the chemicals were for the first week, then kept sending people to ask her when she would be back on normal hours.

Things came to head when the manager (nasty piece of work) said she was no use to her and would have to go on checkouts.

This was still handling food and an even worse position for people staring and there was no where to go when she had an anxiety attack so the Dr signed her off.

She is trying different tablets as her anxiety is through the roof and she has to go up the hospital twice a week for the light treatment for her psoriasis to which she had a reaction to.

The poor thing was already wound up before she kept getting missed calls from the Nurse so when she couldn't get through she drove down there as she couldn't take anymore.

The Nurse had rang as she knew what a mess she was in and wanted to speak to her before the letter arrived which I thought was really nice of her.

They have changed the tests but hers is in the middle of the spectrum so if the Nurse hadn't bullied her into getting out of the way last week heaven knows what mess we would be in.

    DD is only 26

So if anyone out there is "putting it off" Pooky I'm not pointing fingers here ;) GET IT BOOKED!

Anyway my lovelies, thank you for being there and always having just the right thing to say x

    Morning all,

Nice and bright here which unfortunately means I'm awake early!

PIC it does sound like such a lot. She will pull through this tough time and she'll have her health to show for it as well. Your dd manager sounds like a frustrating boss. I know you know this, but remember, finding abnormal cells early is like cancelling a download on a dodgy computer file--you'll get it cleaned up, be a bit more vigilant with checks and all will be well.

I think its all day in the garden for me. Will have to dig out my hat. Plenty of weeding, a bit of watering and might do another round of a few things before I settle down with a book.

Puss had to be rescued from the top of a door last night! She is turning into a daredevil!
  • PIC thanks for letting us know exactly what the problem for your poor lovely DD is, what a load to be carrying love, poor kid!!! I hope a nights reflection has let it assume more manageable proportions than it had at lunchtime yesterday for both of you. My youngest has had psoriasis for years now and a few years ago developed psoriatic arthritis and it was the enormity of it that was the most difficult thing for both of us, knowing that it would need treatment for life and that it was likely to get worse as time goes on.. However, once I'd had it explained to me by my lovely GP and actually understood that it was completely controlable the size of the problem had shrunk to being manageable. Doesn't mean I don't still worry but does mean I'm not on the ceiling with it any longer. You'll both find the strength to deal with this and your take on the situation will change as you know what is likely to be the treatment and outcome. I hope you get a little period of calm and peacefulness in your lives after all the happenings of these last few weeks and time to catch your collective breaths. We're there with you when you need us and will always be so pet, Love and Hugs Lyn xxx.

I'm back :) Had a lovely time in Florence, and have been reading my favourite threads like mad to catch up.

PIC - Aww, your poor DD :( sorry things are so hard for her and for you as well atm. You have had lots of reassuring advice re the smear, from people more knowledgeable than me,so I won't add to it except that my DD had similar and had to have annual smears for a few years, she too was in her twenties and is 35 now and absolutely fine. Your DD is lucky to have such a loving, supportive Mum :A

Stiltwalker - I now completely understand why you felt it was worth queuing for so long to get into the Uffizi! So glad DD is enjoying her wheels. I followed your link to Square Peg Clothing, what a lovely company!

Mrs LW and silvasaver who found a slow-worm in their gardens, how lovely! I remember seeing one once when I was out for a walk with my Dad a very very long time ago (I was six) , and he explained that it wasn't a snake, but a legless lizard.

Sadly the lanes and woods we used to walk in are gone now and there are houses there instead.

kidcat and saving queen -Well done with the gym :j :T

Pyxis - It seems there's now a Hotter shoe shop in a town I can get to on the bus :) So next time I'm looking for shoes I can go there and have a look.

I'm not ignoring everyone else but can't remember what everyone said :)

ivyleaf - so glad you had a good time - wish I could go back DD would love it but might be a bit difficult with her wheels - maybe in a few years when she is an expert - she 'ran' off from me in Tescos the other day though so maybe not that long til she's a pro!

It's been a pretty intense week for us here this week. As I have posted earlier we were offered social housing suitable to adapt for the children and got the keys on Wednesday - and the wheels are going amazingly well too - well as if that were not enough big stuff, we finally got the phone call we've been on pins for for a few weeks now telling us that DD's very own talker had arrived and just needed to be checked off and picked up so we collected that yesterday and took it into school for DD after lunch. She was delighted (and so were lots of the kids in her class too, bless 'em). Pretty impressed with a wait of 'only' 3 1/2 months from assessment (it took 4 months just to get a commode chair!), the health professionals really pulled their fingers out on this one for her - there really will be no stopping her now. Right must get her off to riding - catch you all laters XXX
  • Oh wow Helen, after a famine a feast eh? watch out world, Little Miss Stilty is on a roll (literally!) and has words too, watch this space and see her grow, wonderful news and good luck with the house move, Lyn xxx.

stiltwalkerwhat good news! I'm really pleased for you.

Lyn I'm glad you had a good Doctor who explained everything as that can make all the difference, they are an extremely rare breed nowadays so keep hold of them tightly.

Is it bedtime yet as [STRIKE]the alarm clock[/STRIKE] Devil dog had me up at 4.30.

I hope everyone has a lovely day in the sunshine x
