Monnagran, have a wonderful holiday x
Mrslurchwalker, how lovely x0 -
Happy holibobs Monna - you're very organised with your clean drains and loos and bedding! Hope the weather is fab.
Mrs LW - what a lovely experience. That's something you should write down for Zebra to read when he's older.
I asked my parents to write me a "memory" list a few years back - just snippets of stuff they found memorable during my childhood - any family secrets/traditions etc - all stuff that probably hasn't come up during normal conversation. They wrote loads - Mum made a beautiful scrapbook containing copies of my grandparents wedding certificates and photos, my maternal grandparents ration books, bits of lace from a handkerchief that my great grandmother had at her wedding (it's been to every wedding since but then started to disintegrate), there's so much stuff in there, it's fab. My dad wrote a family history as far as he could remember and there were snippets about when they met and dated, all lovely things that I just wouldn't know otherwise. A real heirloom to pass down to my girls and their offspring in time. I think every grandparent should do one.
Mrs MH - hello - we don't see you over here much - pop in more often
I've been sat in the conservatory all afternoon hand sewing the binding edge to a patchwork quilt I've made - I was surrounded by kittens and the sun kept coming out from behind the clouds....it was bliss. The quilt has been finished for months and sitting there begging for it's edging but I never quite got round to it.....it will be finished tomorrow and will adorn the bed over the summer months.
Chicken and veg lasagne for tea for DH and I, DD1 is at work until 10pm and DD2 is in "I can't cope" mode, getting stressy with revision - she asked for her favourite tea of hotdogs cut up, mixed with beans and toast on the side to dunk.....sometimes I think she's still 5 not 15"Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. Nuttyp sitting on the front with a bag of chips at Skeggie is definately on the 'Things to do ' list
Ginny just a thought but Mablethorpe might actually be closer to where you are going. Has a prom etc and isn't as busy as Skegvegas.
We have had rain/sun on and off all day and the wind is blowing cool. So you will need the warm clothes. My self & hubby; 2 sons (30 & 26). Hubby also a found daughter (37).
Eldest son has his own house with partner & her 2 children (11 & 10)
Youngest son & fiancé now have own house.

Daughter married with 3 boys (12, 9 & 5).
My mother always served up leftovers we never knew what the original meal was. - Tracey Ulman0 -
Flippin' wind
Lots of damage to my poor plants to clear up but another windy day forecast tomorrow too so hardly worth starting yet. Lost half a dozen raspberries,a branch off the apricot tree and loads of plums.A few of the potatoes have snapped clean off too.
Everything is so far advanced because of the nice weather we've had.We usually get battered in April when things aren't so far along, theres a few trees down here too and we've had lots of sirens around and about today.0 -
Monna - have a fab and very well deserved holiday.
What a lovely thing to have Pooky.
Today, little Miss Stilty really got the hang of her new wheels - we have a self propelling small person!! She is still slow and her steering needs work (the Mind your Toes T-shirt from Square Peg Clothing really said it all) but she has the idea and the basic skills now so she will be away in no time at all. It's amazing and frankly quite terrifying all at the same time as she's going from dependent on us or a walker to soon being able to muster quite a speed in her wheels - I may need to get myself some trainers for chasing after her!! and a t-shirt for myself that says sorry about your toes on the back lol!
Take care all - and if you see a small person in a wheelchair with a mind your toes t-shirt and an infectious grin - steer clear, the t-shirt means it!!!!0 -
Monna enjoy yourself you deserve it
MrsLW what a lovely memory to pass on
ginny - we did mablethorpe a few years back, its lovely
stiltwalker - brilliant that DD is getting about, good luck with catching her
I am feeling yuck with a migraine that I have ignored and now feel sickly. But I have managed to get everything into place in the living room and unpacked too which is a relief. Next is dd8 room tomorrow, am so looking forward to a finished project0 -
Am sat looking at all the flipping fishing gear OH has packed and beginning to think I may be travelling on the roof :rotfl: Truly O/S all the food is packed including red and brown sauce - no way Im paying village shop prices for anything. Bag of yarn, magazines and box of meds all ready. Just need to throw the clothes in a suitcase when Dgs has gone home in the morning. DD said we could take him home to his Daddy at bedtime but little man would be upset and I would miss my morning cuddle.
I think we will have a trip to Mablethorpe, I went there many years ago and loved it. Wasnt impressed with Skeggie lst time - too many rides and long walk to the beach. Apparently the new people who took over the onsite restaurant make fish and chips that are amazing so thats on the list as a treat. I think hubby has realised holidays will be a thing of the past so has dug out a bit of our savings so we can have life a bit easier. We wont be going crazy as I hate spending money when I can do it cheaper but if it makes him happy then its ok.
If I can get hooked upto the wifi I will pop by and say hi - I couldnt get it last few times but we are in a different cottage so it my work. hugs to all
Monna have a wonderful time - its well deserved xxClearing the junk to travel light
Saving every single penny.
I will get my caravan0 -
D3 I'm going out to plant my tatties today, and my green stuff as we've had some much warmer weather this last week and my garden's just starting to waken up now.0
-
My green stuff has germinated mardatha .... mind you I am in a much more secluded spot and in town too.
Dad has bought me a plastic greenhouse .... so I may do battle with that later so that my chilli plants can be relocated.
But I have finished cutting all my bottle for my 2014 experiment - the Bottle Garden.
If you can spare a few minutes there is a Youtube vid that explains it all.

Aftrnoon Toughies, DD and Zebra have just left for home after the most lovely fun weekend here with us. He is a little love and beginning to develop his own little personality too. He only cries if he's hungry or tired and chats away with a-goos and awwwyyyysss and smiles, smiles, smiles with dimples!!! Such fun, so wonderful being Oma and Opa. We took him visiting and he had cuddles with all the village ladies who wanted to meet him and totally captivated my brother and sister in law, besotted isn't even beginning to describe thier response to him. They've decided that aunt and uncle isn't what they want to be so they are Grunt and Grunkle and that's what they'll be from now on, cute eh?
We've been catching up on house jobs and garden jobs and are tidy again (you really can't housework when there's a Zebra to play with can you?) and all I have to finish is a little bit of ironing which can wait until tomorrow. It's a lovely day out there so I'll take the dockling for his walkies in a few minutes and then have an easy afternoon and maybe read my book in the sunshine for a while. Have a lovely afternoon everyone, Lyn xxx.0
