Remember in the 60s we all believed that hippies ate KitteKat on toast. It did smell very like fish paste lolol

Thanks Pyxis and whoever mentioned Ambrose Williams. I don't usually buy shoes online, the Ecco ones are the first pair I've bought like that and it was only because I knew what size would be comfy. It just seems like so much hassle having to send them back if they don't fit, and there isn't a Hotter shop or outlet near us ;)

It's very easy with Hotter. You just ring up and say and ask for a return, and they send a courier to pick them up. It you're going to be out, you can leave them in a pre-arranged safe place, eg behind the bin, or whatever.

  • Morning everyone. Lovely weather here but rain and high winds forecast for later. Yuck.

Oh the problems with feet. I just seem to find a company that does shoes I can wear when they change the designs etc. I've tried M&S footglove as well as Ecco in the past with nothing to show but more painful feet.

Have got along nicely with Hotter for a few years but this year they seem to have restricted the designs they have - in my just wider than normal fitting - and I'm also a half size.

As I have problems with toes as well as generally arthritic feet - I have medical insoles that have to fit inside my shoes - shoe shopping is just awful.

So I extend sympathy to all of you who have similar problems.

Pyxis I do the same, in fact sometimes have 3 pairs in one design.

Monnagran - hope you have a great holiday.

Ivyleaf, I hope you feel better in time to go to Florence. What a shame to have to miss it.

    Morning all

Shegar I am so glad your DH and you have found a home he is happy at. Both your quality of lives will improve - have a lovely weekend together. I am sure he does miss you BTW - men can be funny creatures! Good on the healing too :)

    Monna, have a brilliant holiday.

Bizzy don't worry about replying to everyone - too much going on just dip in and out as and when :)

I'm feeling a bit yucky today, horrible time of month stuff, discovered a verruca and have some skin things that point to stress and my counsellor had to cancel today and I could have done with going. DS7 had the strops this morning but sorted him out by school run. Never mind had a good day yesterday though, saw an old friend for coffee in marks and suspenders caf! and went to the gym with a friend later.

DH is holding up though his sleep pattern is terrible. I bet he comes down with something once things work/studywise calm down. Thanks for all the good wishes for him/us. He had some good news yesterday which has helped - the 1st draft of his accounting report was praised by his tutor so hopefully he will pass that element at least. he worked v hard on it and I have to say... ahem... that my proofreading helped to polish it ;)

Today I have a tons of odds and ends of shopping to get and clothes to return all over the place- still fun and games with DS9's clothes and this morning DS7's trousers wouldn't fit properly though same size fit yesterday!!! good job I had an old pair of DS9's in a bigger size and remembered where they were. I made a journey plan to minimise time/petrol... better get going (big sigh)

Have the best day you can....

MRSLW and Pooky thank you for the mackerel tips :)

I have just returned having been called into school to "look" at DD8!!! I was asked to collect her on the phone but got there and they simply wanted me to look at her?????? She is complaining its hard to swallow but its not sore, clearly she has something brewing but as she is ok in herself they want her to stay?? I said ok but if you call me in again I am taking her home, if you need me to "look" again send me an email photo.
I know its harsh but I have been in every day this week, as she cant wear school first aid stuff and she has a cut on her knee they keep removing the dressing and then calling me to replace it.
I am being driven batty by it, between that and the issues at DS10 school with the group I havent managed to achieve anything properly all week - quick race in and grab absolute essentials only type shops and that is it.

DD19 is complaining this morning that there is nothing in, and she is right, I am going to spend my weekend shopping at this rate.

Yes, well, ahem, I must admit that if they're really comfortable and have other colours, I've even been known to have FOUR pairs in the same style!

Cheaper in the long run than having shoes you don't wear much because they pinch!

Hotter sound just the ticket for work shoes but I was wondering if it is a catalogue or a credit account. I don't want either (actually I am not allowed either more but I don't want either either... Is either spelt te same way as iiiither? I digress!)

I didn't think is get the washing out today but turns out the be a bliddy great wash day :D

We just eat mackerel as a piece next to a bed of salad and a slither of toast. Haven't had it for ages. Best mackerel was that caught by DH West Coast of Scotland. Mackerel pate is nice but my fave is smoked salmon pate. Yum yum

Brisket and roast veggies for tea with a Yorkshire pud :)

I have last weeks carrots to use up so fancy making a carrot cake this evening but dithering as it will use a lot of olive oil. Heavy weekend of work ahead of me so should really iron and do odd jobs but I fancy drifting off to the place of calm I can go to when baking.

Pooky get out of my freezer.

My car is in for service today and I was too tight to pay the £10 damage waiver on the courtesy car. Result I am now too paranoid about someone damaging it and me having to pay £500 excess that I don't want to actually drive it anywhere.

When my car went in for repair I had a courtesy car for a week and walked to the PO once :rotfl:

Slap my hand Ladies as I've been spendy with little shame a whole £21.95 all on me.

Rover the dog mobile has passed his MOT today and we have had to run ins with anyone so today is a good day.

I'm just sat listening to the wind hoping my poly tunnel is still in one piece. It's one with the pop over cover not the pulled plastic

I have wide feet & I'm a half size, I buy Van Dal shoes, arm & a leg cost wise, but as I'm on my feet all day it's worth it.
I'm currently sat with my feet elevated, my ankles are hugs, I'm too old to go 28 hours without sleep, but it was so worth it to be there with DD & SIL when their twins were born.

It's not a credit account; you pay when you order, either by phone or post or online. You can have a brochure, or look online, or there are some shops.
Either is pronounced either as either or as either, but both either and either are spelt as either. :rotfl:
    Ditto neither!
