  • I would be your first customer pic. I hate having to search fruitlessly for pretty, flattering shoes that I can wear.
I've done the crying bit as well ivy. Have been shoe shopping this last month or so and actually think the choice is getting worse not better.:mad:

Beautiful sunny day here at the moment so I suppose had better get the washer on and take advantage of the sunshine.

    Morning everyone.

I'd like to send my best wishes to all those having bad times. I never manage to say the right thing or say it as well as others but I do think about you and how your doing while I'm pottering around during my day. I struggle to find the right words of comfort and sometimes type and re type but it never comes across in the right way if that makes sense?

Anyway love to you all and enough of the mushy stuff :p

    The dog drama continues..............

Yesterday morning and this morning we have tried to walk the dogs at different times as Lyn suggested. We have left before the kids go to school (as they are older now) so we can get round the field before the dog in question arrives.

The owner has took to standing on the field earlier and as I've said I will keep mine on a lead and walk in the opposite direction but he keeps trying to walk towards us.

He has told everyone that he "wants to discuss the proportion of blame" with me?? I've already said 50/50 and I would pay half his insurance excess and he disagrees with that so there is nothing more to say IMO

    What would you do?

    PiC x

Edited to add infact I offered all the excess. grrrrrr

PiC - that sounds very close to harassment. I think you need to get some proper advice. In the meantime, I know it isn't fair for you to be pushed out, but could you walk your dogs somewhere completely different for a few days and see what happens? If he follows you, that will just support your case that he's harassing you. And in the meantime keep a record of everything. It sounds as if he is trying to intimidate you.

Have you posted on the pets board? I'm sure there are plenty of people who have been in this situation who can advise.

Hi all, its raining here and now has turned quite chilly. Took mum to aldi, lidl and mr s. We popped into wilcos too for weed barrier. As long as it isn't pouring on Saturday and sunday we will be busy laying weedbarrier, planting shrubs and then putting gravel on top for low maintenance borders.
Shergar, sounds like OH has a lovely nice home, I am glad he has settled in so well. Time for some ''me'' time for you young lady. You need to recover and everything will feel better very soon. There is a website called entitled I think, that you can search for all the benefits you are entitled to claim. Make sure you check, its better in your pocket then theirs, also you can claim a certain amount of travel expenses, so you can visit your husband.
SQ how is your OH coping? any news on the job front yet?
AOT, IVY and PIC my mum buys semi nice shoes from either ambrose Wilson or fashion world or simply be. They have wide feet fitting shoes and some of the styles are quite fashionable. They cant be too expensive either, other wise she wouldn't have ordered from them in the first place.
Need tog get ready for work now x

I have been in what should be comfy shoes for years and nothing actually was comfortable till I tried Hotter shoes.

As they are not cheap I wait till sale time and go to the outlet in Castleford.

Need to go with dd for treatment on skin so see you all later.

    Hugs to all.

  • Oh dear, I have Merrel Approach Shoes (trainers), Merrel Waterproof Trekking Sandles, a pair of really good Berghaus Walking Boots anad 1 pair of comfy Hotter respectableish shoes for everything else, and me wellies, Failed again!!! I did get a pair of flat black smart sandles for the wedding last year and I expect them to last me as summer going out shoes for the rest of my days, Oh dear!!!

PIC I think Greenbee has a point, if you've already discussed the matter with the GSD owner and he's not agreed with your offer and is trying to push you into doing other than what you've offered it does sound a little as if he's trying to intimidate you into doing what he wants. If you could find an alternative walking area for a few weeks it might give him time to re-think his position. If he pursues you to the new area you have reason to take some action to make him back off. You need a little settling time too love, and get your balance back and being able to feel comfortable on the patch you're used to walk on with the dogs. The advice to ask on the pets thread is good advice and might just find you the answer, Lyn xxx.

I wonder if part of the problem is that when he looks at his GSD he sees a poorly puppy still, his boy with problems and expexts for everyone else to see the dog in that light whereas you see a potentially dangerous situation that your dogs would not precipitate but will as you know react to when the GSD can't see them and walks into them?

Sheila I'm relieved to hear that everyone is ok about the situation an you can finally give you the care that you need. I work from 9.30-2.30 - in the world of care that little bit is knackering... and aside from rapport Idont have emotional ties to make that load even heavier. My hat goes off to our carers, I hope that when/if I should need to care for my loved ones I can do so with the same attitude that you all do. Sheila I think now is the time to enjoy and look forward to spending quality times with your OH :)

Our doors are being bombarded by canvassing at the moment - Tories and liberal. I come from Blair country, staunch labour - 'tis a little strange. Honestly haven't a clue who to vote in, neither euro nor elections next year. I feel like saying s*d the lot of ya but as a woman I must never letting vote slip. Too much history there isn't there.

Changing up the menu plans as weather warmer (albeit raining heavy today) and going for proteins with salads. Quiches will be staple for a while - do HM quiches freeze ok?

Weekend in work and its hectic as always. I no longer dread it (nerves!) as I know all the customers and what they require, but I don't get to see my family and that bit hurts. Needs must though. It's only 4 days every month huh?! ;)

That reminds me... I have paid tax of £116 this month. I don't earn enough to do so so know it was an error in tax coding - apparently stems from that bliddy nursery. As far as HMRC were aware I had 2 jobs and the caring role was supplementary! I don't quite understand it as I reported that I no longer worked for the nursery when my tax code was BR. Anyway, sorted but have to wait for my £116 back.

Changing power suppliers is up and running, not happy at having to pay by direct debit though but I am happy at a reasonable amount. Nice to see a supplier not charging too much 'in case'. I will be keeping a close eye and topping up if needed.

Went swimming last night. Girls are getting more confident in the water but it will be a long time before they can swim. Tempted to get pro lessons but so damn sure we can teach them ourselves.

Yup you can freeze quiche Fuddle - I usually cook it so it's 'just' done so I can finish it off in the oven when its de-frosted or do them as you like to serve them if cold.
Hope the rebate comes through pronto!

This is a quick guilty visit.

PIC: I would reduce your offer every day, and announce that this is the way it is going to be. I would also do what Lyn suggests and find somewhere else to walk temporarily and see what happens. I hope you are logging every troublesome event, with date, time, and record of the conversation. It may be very useful.

Ivy and all feet sufferers: I do empathise. My feet are sort of square although they go quite well with my tree-trunk ankles. 'Herring boxes without topses' have been my lot. I used to get away with the occasional footglove from Marks Expensive but only if they were soft leather. Just recently they have been stiff and overly fashionable, Well, too fashionable for this old dinosaur. Also my size is quite definitely six and a half. Whatever has happened to half sizes? Seven slips about a bit and six bruises my toes. Oh, to be standard in something!

Fuddle: You can teach your children to be confident in the water and they will probably teach themselves to swim.
I can't swim at all but when I was teaching, not one 5-yearold left my class without being able to swim a width. We were one of the first Primary schools to have its own pool and I don't know who had most fun, the children or the staff. Mind you, we did have our hairy moments. When the chlorinating plant broke down one of the men poured chlorine into the pool with a watering can. We might have got away we that but he spilled some on the side wall, a little girl sat on it and her dress disappeared in holes. Also, one teacher was paranoid about verrucas and poured so much Jeyes Fluid into the foot bath that the children emerged with orange feet. You can tell that there was no 'Elf & Safety about then. If it had been I would have been in prison by now!

The Rev has just popped her head round the door to announce that she has finished packing! I hate her sometimes. The clothes that I have to pack (when I have located a suitcase) are in heaps on my bedroom floor, mingling with the piles of winter clothes waiting to be sorted out and packed away for moving and the heaps of clothes destined for the CS and the heaps of clothes heading for that great jumble sale in the sky. It's a work of art getting to my bed of a night. 'Climb every mountain' takes on a whole new meaning.

Why am I worrying? I have nearly 2 days yet.

I was just sat here reading through and thought we could all meet up in a public place and I wouldn't know who the eck you were until you all took your shoes off :D

Sound advice over the dogs as always, we're just a very small village between some very busy roads so there isn't much options for walk areas. We stuck to the roads he was round the roads, stuck to the field same again, changed time.......

It's that time of the month do you think I would get away with clobbering him with my frying pan or would that be as waste of frying pan ;)
