(((Hugs))) Sheila. I'm glad he's settled, albeit too far away. Just take some time to rest yourself now.

I've received the most hilariously rude email from someone who wanted to sell their book in our stores. Among other little gems he wrote 'Without wishing to sound too pompous, at 70 I tend to deal with CEO’s of organisations and, indeed, last Monday, **** ****, who is a good friend and, of course, Chairman of **** Bookshops, had lunch with me in Monaco.'
He also asked me how we should proceed to the benefit of us both. Well after receiving your very rude email I'm afraid we won't be proceeding at all! Gave me a chuckle though.

So glad your OH has found somewhere he can be settled and feel comfortable - very important for both of you. Shame its so far but when you have built your health and strength up it wont feel as bad for you.

Went online at Mr t to do a shop and because I havent been on for a long time I hd to go through every shelf and couldnt use my favourites till next time  Got the bus and a lift back as I needed my sanity more than a delivery. Will sit and do a delivery next month then I can use it regularly with no fuss.

Hugs Shegar - glad you have finally got OH sorted somewhere nice. It will be a big change though so take care of yourself - X

Tired tonight as was at a regional meeting today and it was a b*gger of a drive to get there and back - I'm such a country bumpkin and don't really like to have to tackle big roads and lots of traffic! Time was when I'd drive anywhere anytime but I've turned into a right wuss! Looking forward to the sat nav in the new car as it might make it a bit easier for me.

Can't remember who was off to Florence but have a fab time - I love that city. If you can book timed tickets for the galleries before you go it will be a big help, the first time I went we didn't know you had to and I waited 4 hours for the Uffizi and 2 for the Accademia, well worth it but avoid if you can. I also had the best museum lunch in the Uffizi about 8 years ago - ex hubby had disappeared taking (not very good) photos of various building as he'd threatened divorce if I made him look at another picture of the Madonna and child (with hindsight I should have taken him up on the offer - lol) and I had lunch in the 'posh' bit of the museum caf! - table cloths and everything! - lovely lasagne, salad and a glass of Prosecco for about 15 euros all on my own with a rather attentive Italian waiter to boot! Way better than a plastic sarnie, a bag of crisps and tea in a paper cup!

    Take care all - X

    Princess,

Kills you doesn't it to bust a gut for others and feel nothing is working... Oh, ask me how I know ??? . Got that t- shirt right enough.

You ARE making a difference and a positive one too, even tho it doesn't seem like it.

Sometimes we can't see the tapestry come together when we are bogged down with little stitches. But each stitch helps the whole picture.

Your doing good. Take care of yourself.

Thanks stilty - We have booked tickets for the Uffizi for Tuesday, and also for the Medici Chapels on Monday (I wanted to see them anyway as they were closed for restoration last year, and most of the museums etc are closed on Mondays). No tickets for the Accademia yet - I think OH doesn't really get why I want to go there to see the actual David when there's a copy of it in one of the piazzas I could look at instead! We would certainly be physically unable to queue for two hours, let alone four

Shegar - (((HUGS))), I feel both relieved and sad for you as I know you didn't want your husband to have to go into a home, but it just couldn't be helped, and you will have a chance to get your strength back. It sounds as if it's a very nice home he's in at any rate xx

kidcat Big ((HUGS), sorry things are so difficult atm, likewise savingqueen

PIC - I love pretty shoes too, but I have so many problems with my feet that I've had to wear what I think of as "old ladies' shoes" since I was about 50 (I'm 60 now). I actually cried in a shoe shop some years ago:o because there were so many pretty, strappy, high heeled sandals in there (it was only Clarks, too!) and I had to have flat, "sensible" ones. Still, it does seem a bit easier now to find flat sandals that are also quite pretty - I just yearn for higher more elegant-looking heels occasionally.

    Morning everyone.

I'd like to send my best wishes to all those having bad times. I never manage to say the right thing or say it as well as others but I do think about you and how your doing while I'm pottering around during my day. I struggle to find the right words of comfort and sometimes type and re type but it never comes across in the right way if that makes sense?

Anyway love to you all and enough of the mushy stuff :p

    The dog drama continues..............

Yesterday morning and this morning we have tried to walk the dogs at different times as Lyn suggested. We have left before the kids go to school (as they are older now) so we can get round the field before the dog in question arrives.

The owner has took to standing on the field earlier and as I've said I will keep mine on a lead and walk in the opposite direction but he keeps trying to walk towards us.

He has told everyone that he "wants to discuss the proportion of blame" with me?? I've already said 50/50 and I would pay half his insurance excess and he disagrees with that so there is nothing more to say IMO

    What would you do?

    PiC x

Edited to add infact I offered all the excess. grrrrrr

ivy I can't remember the last time I got out of my wellies or walking boots, because of my back I have to have shock absorbers (sp) built in to my foot wear. Maybe we could start the pretty shoe company with comfy straps, glitter and shockers built in :rotfl:
