Kidkat - I've been so lucky with prom stuff, DD2 found her dress on fleabay for £13 inc delivery, new from china, it's beautiful and very well made. She's using DD1's prom bag (brought by my friend who doesn't have girls and want to buy something pretty), a £1.99 glittery scarf/shawl and some heels she already has. Her bra was all of £5 so she picked some bangles and earrings too....my girls are quite realistic about it being "one night" some of their friends dresses have been £100's."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. Weather has been super here all weekend, ive had to water some of my perennials as they are flagging , the ground is so dry , so iv had the hose out this afternoon, plus I topped the wildlife pond up, .....
Ive just put some more food out for my 2 hedgehogs, they will be along within the next half hour, as soon as it gets dusky........Thats my high light of the evening watching them 2 , im sure they live under the summerhouse ......They like mealworms, peanuts , sultanas, seem to be there favourite, at least they get a varied diet here..!!.....I also have a blue tit, nesting, a great tit, and 3 blackbirds nests, so I feed the birds better than myself..LOL.......Right I must now go out and shut the hens up before I forget and will get back here later...Love to all...... Fuddle you will need to cut down the brown canes when they have fruited, leave the new canes that grow this summer as they will fruit next year.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Pooky - DD19 did the same with her dress, and used my wedding dress underskirt to keep costs down. But the shoes, accessories etc added up and then add in hair and make up ( I am rubbish at both) we still spent alot less than everyone else though, her friends parents were spending hundreds and hiring limos etc. The irony being that they were being dropped at school for transport to the venue by bus!
Shegar I miss our hogs, we used to have a few at the old house and a fox too, but we don't get any here at all.
OH is unhappy as he has discovered where our old girl hunter has been leaving her dead bodies in the garden! She used to leave them at the back door but has rather thoughtfully set up her own morgue at the side of the shed.
Am running freezers down ready to defrost as they are in a truly awful state, have been using food from them all week and so far have cleared half a drawer - leaving 6.5 drawers to go! There appears rather a large number of raspberries in there which I may need to get inventive with0 -
Woke up to snow this morning and it's still sleeting as I write this!
Ginny, I actually have bought new printers cheaper than buying ink cartridges. It's so wasteful. But when I can get a new colour inkjet printer/copier/scanner for $42 instead of spending $108 on new ink cartridges, it's a no brainer.
Hope you all have lovely Mondays.0 -
Just remember that new printers only have small amounts of ink in them so whilst it seems more cost effective to buy a new one the inks normally do work out in the long run.
Another glorious morning here, all blue skies and no clouds (well there's a few over the channel in Frances direction but they're not here yet).
Waiting for DH's meds to kick in so we can go to a bootfair in the next village. Then I need to pop to the shops for something for dinner - it was all planned for the 4 of us but now I've been informed that BFs will be here too, it won't stretch to 6 (two of those being gannets).
Kidkat - good luck with your freezer run down - When I did the kitchen I moved to a fridge freezer rather than separates, it took a while to adjust to a smaller space but I find it much easier now as stuff can't linger for months like it used to in the other one.
Need to cut the lawns today - blugh - I hate that job, the mower was one that the previous owner left and it sprays the cuttings around so much that it takes longer to clear up than it does to mow. I just can't justify a new one whilst this one still works. Maybe I can bribe DD2's BF to do it for me? In payment for dinner....."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Morning all,
Its been a full on weekend. I had a dress I found in a CS that needed some alterations so we took it into town Saturday, had lunch in the park and then I hopped over to the fabric store. Its a very nice Hob3s dress, so I didn't want to attempt the alterations myself. The rest of the afternoon and yesterday was devoted to gardening, sewing and tidying with some laundry thrown in. OH is off work today so is doing a few errands but making me pancakes for breakfast to start so I have to work.
Princess, I hope your OH is starting to feel a bit better now.
Nutty, I hope the kidney stones have made their way out.
Kitty is trying to climb the curtains again, must go and give her a play before she tears the house down!0 -
Morning all, been MIA for a few days. Saturday after taking more tramadol I managed to help do some of mums garden. Its not been touched for over 3 years so its more of a collection of ivy than anything else. We ordered a tonne of gravel to be delivered next week, with the plan of laying weed barrier down, inserting new shrubs and then putting gravel around to help reduce weeds and ivy for her.
A garden company quoted aver a thousand to clear the area so you get an idea on how bad it is. Needless to say, she is very excited about it all. We had a huge tree stump from a conifer that cant be removed so we put lots of compost around it and have planted creepers in and around it. Its looks great!!!
Yesterday we continued and managed to clear an area ready for a veg plot. It will be a small one, but gives mum something to potter with. OH has agreed to go over at least once amonth and give it a tidy up so its all in hand.
Today we are finally chilling and its back to work tomorrow. The kidney stones are still niggling around but if the pain gets bad I just have to take some pain killers and carry on. Ive had them for years, some have been removed already but there are a few left as always.
Well must get dressed, will pop by later and catch up with you all xBSC member 137

Kidcat, try them in muffins or instead of lemon curd / jam in the Doorstep staple cake mix...they will have plenty of moisture so don't add much liquid2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇
