Wondercollie, your summer sounds as short as mine. I get dead miffed reading all the excitement on here about plants when i can't even start for weeks!0

Just a quickie regarding printers - I usually buy an 'all in one' as I sometimes print off photos or need PDF copies. My last one was an Ep*on & would only work if all FOUR ink cartriges were operational & wouldn't accept refills. :eek:You couldn't switch it to one colour only. Needless to say the next one I bought (good old sauce type) has the same 4 different ink cartridges but will operate with one colour if necessary & JL gives a 3 year guaranteeSmall victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0

Good afternoon everyone. We had a lovely, sunny and warm morning but got cloud cover now and mist forming on river. Glad I got out earlier as it seems to have got much chillier as well.
Well I've had 3 B12 injections this week - got another 3 to go - and am so pleased to be able to say it seems to be working.:j
I actually enjoyed my morning shoe shopping with the daughter-in-law, was able to wander around with dragging myself and still feel ok now I'm home. It's so wonderful I can't quite believe it - but really hope it continues. I might - just - be able to get my life back - or some of it at least.:j:j
Have a good day.Use it up, Wear it out, Make it do, Do without.0 -

Finally I am back in the world of frugal clothes drying... Rotary airer has been purchased (with nectar points
) and is in place. It will need cementing in but earning its keep as I type.
We have invested in a blueberry plant and is planted in the Belfast sink. That was meant to be the herb garden but really deep and wide so putting to blueberry use. We also bought more strawbs today too. DH is really getting into growing our own as well so that's nice... normally just been me dabbling.
We're having ribs this evening with homemade thyme wedges and corn on the cob. Fresh fruit salad and ice cream to follow.
DH was gifted a bottle of gin yesterday so I think my Saturday night tipple will be a gin gin - gin and ginger beer (from Christmas will it be ok?)0 -
PIC I have just read your blog, what an absolutely wonderful post. Never a truer word was said.
Much love

Evening Ladies, thank you so much for the wonderful welcomes.
I'm really sorry that I didn't post this last night - (I fell asleep infront of a film OH had wanted to watch for ages!! whoops...). I will try to post my thoughts as often as I can though, as I understand how they affect how I spend!!
Have had a very productive day in the garden - moving a very old shed in order to build a new office type shed so lots of recycling! but very sore back!! Have got two more days of this so Radox at the ready!!
Hugs to all that need them and can I just say CC - wow, you are an inspiration and I think about you often.

I've a question for the gardener amongst us... raspberry canes? Do they fruit year after year or a one season only fruit? Thanks
We've been off wandering around the grounds of a national trust place today. We have used the yearly subscription to the point where we get free entry/NT beach car parking for free now for the remaining 10 months. We stumbled across den building so the girls got stuck in and crossing off another on their 50 things list.
I won a solid pine chest of drawers on eBay this afternoon and at a good price for second hand. It will need work but so does the pine wardrobe we inherited from the previous tenants. They will be lovely but until we start on them the extra storage will be well used. 4 whole drawers and a surface as a dressing table... Beats sitting on the floor as I have done for the past 6 months.
Beef brisket in the slow cooker for this evenings meal plus cooking some chicken thighs along with the yorkshires and veg for picnic sandwiches if the weather is ok tomorrow. I only have 1.5 hours work tomorrow so will get a decent bank holiday.0 -
Afternoon all
What a glorious weekend so far - was chilly but sunny yesterday but it's been just lovely today.
Popped to a local bootfair this morning and the 2nd stall I looked at had a whole big tub of patchwork pieces all in vintage fabrics, ready to sew together - I snaffled them up quick as others were lurking then tucked under some magazines I saw some laura ash-ley packs of hexi-cut fabrics - all early 80's stuff and the packs were unopened! Yay - I'm very happy. Can't wait to get stuck in and make something lovely with them.
Then took DD2 shopping for Prom essentials (strapless bra and shiny things) - she fell in love with some running gear in Primarni so I treated her to a set, she loves running and often goes out around the village - she came straight home, tried it all on and was out for an hour....I wish I enjoyed exercise as much.
Fuddle - Glad you got your washing line sorted - It's lovely to be able to chuck it all out this time of year and know its going to be dry and smell fresh when it comes back in."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
Pooky it's been beautiful here as well.
Have two loads of washing on line, garden being mown currently and I have had a mad burst and rearranged the living room furniture. Finally sorted where everything is going and what we are putting in the room. After a trip around !kea yesterday to get our heads sorted.
Now its a case of unpacking boxes and being ruthless. Nine boxes emptied so far and for full boxes for charity shop. Still close to 20 more boxes to do but am hopeful I can get it finished by Tuesday. Then it's on to tackle dd8 bedroom and get her stuff all back in, sorted and put away.
Need to shop tomorrow and get organised for school Tuesday, hopefully we can manage a trip somewhere as well.
Pooky I found prom so expensive so am jealous you got to use primarni we didn't have one close enough.0
