I have had cheese and fruit cake which works but jam and cheese scones _pale_ I found the bags of fruit so 2 dozen scones made and mixed up a couple of cheap cake mixes with a dollop of dessicated coconut and a drop of extra water - just checked them and they are yummy.

Its a tad cool here so am leaving the greenhouse firmly shut to keep my babies warm, hope it bucks up soon or I am going to have a jungle in there eventually :D

Hubby is quietly pottering after eating a little meal and am hoping he has an early night so he feels better tomorrow. Dgs comes home tomorrow so that will help him. Thank you Stilty and Lyn xx

Love the pictures Kidcat. When you make a chocolate version of the cake how do you substitute the lemon curd?

Sorry just realised I hadn't replied earlier, I usually just swap the chocolate jar of spread stuff and use the same amount as the lemon :)

Ginny - hope all settles for your OH.

Pooky how is your OH doing this week?

Another proud mummy moment - DD8 has been selected to be on of the team of four representing her school at a tennis tournament! :D:D
And she came home with an special award for being helpful to others in her class and making the new girl welcome etc

Hi I've spent the last few years reading and money saving rather than posting. But (sorry to start a sentence with a but) this thread has been such an inspiration over the months because of the true community spirit that I really must make the effort to comment, and hopefully if you are OK with it, join in with.

I'm a working Mum of two teenage boys, a wife to a self employed husband (and all that extra paperwork!!) and quite active with PTA and fundraising projects - hence the BizzyMummy name which was created a few years ago. Thankfully its all a bit less Bizzy now they are teenagers but a lot more expensive...

Looking forward to joining in - although I do feel like I know you all already, as you are such honest warm ladies.

    Welcome bizzy mummy.

Ginny, sending you love and strength and a tube of bongelia for those times you have to bite your tongue:cool:

Fuddle well done on the 5 lb and on the award. It's nice when your employers recognise your hard work.

Kid at, proud moments are even better when shared. And what a sweet kitten.

PIC , no advice I can give that MrsLW hasn't already given, just sending you hugs and a pair of virtual blinkers ;)

Me, well , just carrying on. Taking each day is it comes, trying to find small but good moments in my day. Today's moment.. I was at dinner with my BIL MIL and niece and nephew, my nephew was playing mine craft on his tablet and gave me a huge "squish" saying love you , but carried on playing on his tablet with his arms around my neck.... Made us all laugh.

Thanks for asking after me - Im glad you are doing ok and things progressing with hubby and sister xx

My head still feels like mush hence poor concentration etc. I have the added worry that we are currently in the processor moving my parents to live in a bungalow near us as both are in very poor health. I must get better quickly so am getting frustrated at my lack of ability:(

Lovely to start to catch up on everyone's news xxxx
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

    Hi Bizzy

Thanks CC I've never had virtual blinkers before what an appropriate gift thank you. Funny how kids can do just the right thing at the right time isn't it?

DGD is addicted to minecraft, she plays with her tongue sticking out lol.

Hope you all have a good day

    Morning everyone.

Where to start? Seems ages since I’ve had five minutes to myself where I can have a cuppa in peace.
So, OH had his dental appointment for surgery on Monday. Half way through he gets told (After they have cracked the teeth) that they cant get two out. Therefore they will continue with just one, And stitch that.

Roll on Tuesday, OH is in agony, being sick, not sleeping, not eating, All thanks to the 2 bad teeth. We was told apon leaving the hospital that we will receive a new appointment on Thursday and to hold off until then.

Yesterday comes, After being wide awake for 3 solid days, I had enough of hearing OH being sick, I called the hospital and got told to get OH up there for midday.

Over an hour later, Their calling the dental hospital for a emergency appointment. At this point, OH is still suffering and I loose my temper. Because they come back with the next emergency appointment is in 3 weeks time.

This isn’t good enough when someone is suffering so much & when a dental surgeon caused the pain by cracking the teeth then deciding to leave them. So, With tempers fraying, They amazingly made appointment for this morning.

So that’s three days off work (The dental surgeon suggested going to work to relive pain) and a very sorry OH. Never mind the fact, I also have my dad to worry about with his test results coming back Tuesday on whether the lump in his made hood “could” be the big C. On top of both that, I’m running the house, sorting the pets, helping my mum who is also unwell and trying to sort me out.

I went to the stop smoking clinic yesterday and got all the aids. I am trying soooooooo hard not to smoke, But the stress, worry, panic, is just overwhelming.

Anyways, Cuppa is empty now. Really must get ready for what seems yet another long day.

    Hugs to everyone x
