Hello doorstep friends. I am about to go catch up a weeks worth of posts but thought I would show my face first as our connection is a bit hit and miss at the moment.

OS news? Well the strawbs are planted as are the peas. Really very happy about that small progress. We get much more sun in the garden than I thought so more hopeful than initially to get growing our own.

Rotary airer still isn't bought! The plan is to get one at the weekend using our nectar points.

I have lost 5lbs in the past 2 weeks. All I am doing is calorie counting but I think the success is mainly down to an increase in veg consumption. Finally the girls are more willing to try others and I think that is down to tired of broccoli and carrots every evening. We are eating green beans, corn on the cob, asparagus spears etc and they are wanting to try. They find they enjoy! Youngest is loving tomatoes and cucumber at long last. Their new favourite is lentil soup (from a tin - sorry, time poor!)

I earned carer of the month this month. :D I won't go into details but I have experienced some not very nice experiences these last few weeks. I am still standing, still mentally fine, coping and committed to my job - I have over come so many challenges and have not given up. My management team have been such a great support.

DH has been at his AGM for te past 2 nights so we've been home alone of an evening. I have missed him like you wouldn't believe... but it made me want to spend oodles of quality time with the girls - we too have made a lemon curd cake. I'm fancying trying the marmalade version - chocolate orange! ;)

Fuddle - weightloss! Oh yeah, we'll a bit eh?!
  • PIC do you have a Dog Warden at your local council offices? it might be worth taking some advice from them if you do? The situation for the GSD is dangerous as if he can't see properly and takes on the wrong dog he could be in for much more damage than 2 stitches to his ear. If not that would you consider contacting the RSPCA to ask thier advice as the owner is not being very responsible with his pet? If you've had enough of the confrontation would it be a possibility to do a different walk or go at a time with your dogs when you are sure he won't be walking the GSD? I think it's very hard to be objective when it comes to loved pets isn't it?

Kidkat you'll need to make a huge fuss of the first kitten or he will develop a chip on his wee furry shoulder and change. This happened to my daughter and the two cats never did get on. Is a pity you couldn't have got two kittens together.

The man is a policeman and it was him that said regarding the law if both dogs are off the lead then neither can be held accountable it would be a civil matter. This was when there was another dog dispute on the field and we were discussing it.

We go at that time as we see the kids off to school and do two runs (two dogs each run) we have gone different directions but as the other dog walkers always walk over he comes as well. We have stood still to let them all walk on and said oh we'll catch up but they stand and wait. We have been blunt but no one else wants their dog bashed into so they don't want to walk with him.

    So playground again.

  • Oops, difficult situation then and goes to show that just because he's a policeman he doesn't necessarily have common sense doesn't it? Don't know what to suggest now as the only other option would have been to talk to the local police station and take advice from them, sorry!!! xxx

    Me again :p

Well done Fuddle and 5lb is fantastic news.

I had a friend take me out for coffee as they had an unexpected afternoon off work. We went to a local restaurant which was holding a wake (didn't know before walking in) it puts things into perspective doesn't it?

Hopefully I'm just having a bad run and that's my quota over hopefully.

Sorry for overtaking with my misery everyone xx

Pic hugs it always seems that these things come at once. Hopefully it's over now.

Mardatha we are making tonnes of fuss of him. No one is allowed to fuss baby kitty until bigger kitty has been fussed etc. He is just out of sorts over it. Bought more dreamies today as additional bribery and have ordered more feliway as someone suggested Thank you.

The dreamies were gratefully received, in fact so enthusiastic was he that he managed to bite down on my finger. Oh my word how painful was it, never had a cat bite so hard. He is now glaring at me because he appears not to enjoy the taste of my blood. :) gave him a few more dreamies so he doesn't feel he has done something really awful.

Pic, its good you have here to get things off your chest, nothings worse than no one to talk to and we are all here for you. Things you have been going through wear you down if you dont share. xx

OH is very fragile at the moment - physically and mentally so am walking on egg shells. Glad we are going away soon, its not too far to Lincolnshire so if we have lots of breaks we will do fine. Am writing a list for Mr T as delivery is £1 sometimes and my bus fare is £2.40 - no contest! Need lots of nibbles to take as thats what costs when you are in a little village.

Wish the weather would buck up as its cool and grey here. Off to make some scones as we are short on cakes, not sure if I have any dried fruit so it may have to be cheese ,note to self - tell hubby they are savoury or he will put jam on :rotfl:

Ginny - before they moved down south my MIL regularly served us cheese scones with jam and cream on! On purpose! Needless to say on those weeks 'I wasn't very hungry' or 'sorry, I had a big lunch' - just odd is all I can say.

Sorry to hear OH is in a bad way at the moment - sending love and hugs your way - X
