Ok for the last time I am going to attempt this post, four times I have lost it, I started it at 5.30am! So apologies if I miss anything out its just I can't remember what I have typed.
AOT - hope the funeral went ok
Shegar - good luck at hospital today
Ginny - well done for booking your holiday
Stiltwalker - very impressed at DD new wheels
PIC - hope things are better today
D&DD - congrats on DS job
SQ hope you and DH managed to come to an agreeable resolution
Manic day here yesterday, I collected new kitty, OH worked 3.30am - 9.30pm and kids all had wide ranging pick ups, meaning I started pick up at 1,45 and finished at 5.30pm. Add in swimming lessons, usual chaos and excitement, it was a very long day.
Proud mummy moment though, DS10 six months ago was terrified of water on his face, last night during swimming was sat on the bottom of the pool holding his breath underwater
Oh thank goodness for that, finally managed to post0 -
Grateful thanks to whoever posted the cake recipe using a jar of lemon curd. I made this last night and it is a super cake.0

Oh kidcat - I've fallen in love. Kitty is soooooo beautifulSmall victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0

Where do you live and what time do you go out and by the way do you have a cat flap?D&dd well done that young man :T:T and well deserved too.
Pic hope the storms blow over and not in your direction - nothing worse than neighbours, mines the mother of 2 convicted murderers so I make nice whenever possible and so far (30 years ) we have happily got on. - You couldnt make it up could you?
LOL Oh my! I would make nice as well.
The old timers made a united front of standing in the street with their dogs this morning and as we walked passed they just stared and said nothing. I will just carry on with my own business and leave them to plot and scheme. It may take their minds off whatever else is bothering them I suppose.
I have another drama, it seems to be my week of it.
I will try and condense this story down a little.........
There is a GSD near us who was bought from a puppy farm and it has never been quite right IYKWIM. For the first year of it's life it has been banging into things etc and I eventually talked the owner into taking him to the vets. He had insurance so they sent him off to be scanned and found his brain had not developed properly and that he was to check if he got worse or stayed the same.
This dog has banged into my dog (GS) everyday to the point where I have put mine on the lead for weeks but while she is on the lead she is a sitting duck. My other dogs are nearly hanged as he runs through their leads as he can't see them as he has problems with his sight as part of his condition. This dog also runs into trees due to vision problems. Many times I have told him to put him on the lead.
My dog has always barked at him to warn him off but he comes over and bangs into her, not aggressively but he hurts her so she barks at him, well the other morning she warned him off and bit his ear or just caught it and made him bleed.
This morning I saw him on the street and asked how he was and he said he had to have two stitches. I said I was very sorry but I usually have her on her lead but I couldn't keep having her as a sitting duck and getting hurt and his should be on a lead as he can hardly see. He started going on that my dog had gone for him etc etc and that he had already paid £130 in vet bills and the dog was lucky not to lose his ear
Now I am sorry my dog bit him but she has warned him and warned him. He should be on the lead. I have tried walking away many times but because the other dog owners walk with us he follows with his dog.
I forgot to add his dog caught my dog but it was only a pin !!!!! as she has quite a bit of fur (as the Dyson can testify) so he was biting as well and last year his dog bit my Collie and she bit him back.
Other people have told him to keep his dog away and get it on a lead.
Now I would have as a good will gesture paid the excess on his insurance but to start going on about how much his vet bills are up to at the moment and that he could have lost his ear I think he's coming it.
Boy am I having a week of it, I won't be able to leave the house at all at this rate.

kidcat - i know it's not cheap, but I wonder if Feliway would help Wellington stay calm(er) as he gets used to new kitty. She's lovely. What have you called her?
D&DD - So very pleased to hear your DS got the job. I started beaming as soon as i read your post
Stiltwalker - Excellent news re DD's wheelsyou're exactly right, the wheelchair is an "enabler"! Our neighbour has a Galaxy and is very happy with it - he needed something that could take his hefty mobility scooter, and there's so much room in it!
Mrs LW - Thanks for explaining - that's a good idea. I had "Granny and Grandad" and my other grandmother was "Nanny", my other grandfather died before I was born.
My older grandson (DD1's child) has 2 "Nanny and Grandad"s, and if he answers the phone to me I hear him call "Mum! It's Nanny - your mum!" DD2's children have 2 Grandads, a Grandma and a Nanny (me!)
monnagran - The cheek of that woman!
Pretty wet outside today - OH is so pleased that he mowed the lawn yesterday :j (not that he could jump up and down, but you get the idea.). I shall find plenty to do indoors, I'm sure, and have a couple of new trousers to hem - they are a good fit, but 2 inches too long, so I spent ages yesterday unpicking the original hems. One pair is dark brown and the other dark blue,, both with perfectly matching thread, aaagh! I had to do it by holding the work a few inches away and peering over the top of my glassesAnd the cat decided it was just the right time to try to get onto my lap, of course.

Oh PIC that's awful, so ridiculous, of course the other dog should be on a lead if he can't see  What a silly owner!0

Love the pictures Kidcat. When you make a chocolate version of the cake how do you substitute the lemon curd?0
