  • D&DD I still share the silly things in life with my Dad and he 's been gone for 18 years now, but he's still here, laughing when I do something daft and listening if I have worries, I'll extend the service to my girls when the time comes too, and join him in the giggling corner, Lyn xxx.

Morning all, just wanted to pop in quickly and wish you all a Happy Easter.

I know for many of you the holiday may be challenging, family troubles of one sort or another or loss for CC. I'll be thinking about each and every one of you and hoping that there is brightness in your day at some point over this weekend.

OH is back in work on Tuesday, so a few days later I might finally have recovered enough to be back in chatting, he can't half talk a lot!

Morning all, I really miss my dad, nan and my doggy. All sat here with me just invisible to the naked eye. When my DD went into hospital to have her spinal op, on the way home over a very big hill there was a strange scent in the car. It was daffodils in august!! and we both swore someone was on sitting in the back seat. We glanced around at the same time. When we got home my mum said my nan who passed away loved daffodils, and it was her way of saying she was looking over DD. She was in intensive care for 5 days, DD said she saw nan sitting with her...... I believe I really do.
I have a dilemma for you all, I have been offered the managers job at work. Its 37 1/2 hours a week, don't have to work sundays and its a payrise of a pound a n hour....... DO you think I should consider it? money would be helpful towards youngest going to uni next year.... hmmmmm

Said lad has been to appologies and brought me flowers and money for the car repairs. I was nice to him and said time to slow up etc.... line firmly drawn under the event.

take care all, and enjoy the sunshine x

    Morning all :)

oh that's nice Nutty glad its all done with now.I'd weigh up the pros and cons for the job is it likely to cause you a lot more stress and is it worth it for a pound an hour? If you pretty much do the same I'd grab it :)

FairyP I hear ya.. mine is off atm too and he's wearing me out lol and not in THAT way!!!

Speaking of which being summonsed to sort out my pots...
  • I talk to my late OH all the time - about anything and everything. I know he is listening and laughing at me as usual.

Pooky, I've done that kind of thing before. This pattern is a nightmare as it requires double counting in every row as well as numerous stitch changes in the row. I managed 4 rows yesterday - but had to pull them all out later after discovering an error in the first. At this rate she might get it for her NEXT birthday.:rotfl:

It is a lovely sunny morning here but have no idea about the temperature as not been out side yet.

    Have a good weekend everyone.

    Morning all,

congrats on the promotion offer nutty - what reasons are there (if any) for NOT taking the job?

Fighting low feeings today, edgy and teary. Think its because of this weekend, every special date I seem to feel like this. Wanted to go out in the sunshine with my boys but feel like I need to hibernate. A day in would be fine if DH wasn't studying. So far I have let them watch lots of TV in their PJS and start on their Easter eggs. They are happy easter bunnies! DH is getting on ok (PC and only TV in the same room) but doubt that will last all day.

Yesterday I made a bit of a boob (love that phrase!) Had tickets for free entry to a play centre that we haven't been to for a long time. DS7 has been asking to go for ages and so the tickets seemed perfect. DS9 wasn't as keen to go as he is outgrowing them but agreed to go along with DS7. Despite there being no small print anywhere, they refused to accept the tickets (term time only) so I ended up paying, I couldn't break a promise. DS9 got bored really quickly and my headache was not improved with screaming children and loud music. I gave them some money to go to the food counter for a little treat and they came back to tell me the cheapest thing was more than I had given them. I rarely buy chocolate etc in these places any more and was shocked at the prices. We came home earlier than planned and I regretted wasting our money going - would have been better going to the park. Still I think DS7 enjoyed himself lots and he often has to "upgrade" to things DS9 likes doing and I wanted him to choose an activity he wanted for a change.

DS7 has just announced he has SIX wobbly teeth. 3 I knew about but another 3!

Well on the plus side. DH bought me a B-a-i-l-e-y-s egg. I am not drinking alcohol with the ADS so the egg is the closest I will get! Looking forward to eating that, it has truffles with it mmmm.

another cuppa or some chores.... wanders off to consider....
    take care everyone

ps to my last post, smilies don't usually work for me anymore.... AND I didn't try to add any but when I just saw the post, a glum smilie has mysteriously appeared.... spooky??
  • SQ take time to just be when you feel sad or life becomes just too much, we all get days like that for whatever reason and it's perfectly normal, just part of being human. If you know any way to settle yourself, even if it's just a cuppa, 10 minutes off and a bikkit, then do it and don't feel guilty. If you need half an hour in the bath on your own to relax, then do it. If you need an easy lunch/supper that doesn't take any effort just make beans on toast etc. no guilt, no problem just be kind to you and the day won't seem so bleak my lovie. The housework and any jobs will still be there tomorrow and the world is definately not going to grind to a halt if you don't do them today. Do something you enjoy, sit in the sun and soak up the rays and don't feel guilty for spending money yesterday, you're allowed to if you have to and your littlest DS enjoyed it so it was worth doing. Hugs and love Lyn xxx.

Thanks so much for your wise and kind words Lynn. I am being kind to myself, decided to just go with the flow as you said. Laundry on the line and more doing so the nice weather is being put to good use. I have played on the Wii with the children (they were made up as only 2nd time I have ever been on there) playing a racing car game and coming last every time. We also snuggled up watching a wildlife documentary together. I am now feeling ok with not feeling ok IFYKWIM.

Hope everyone else is getting on with whatever they need and want to do today. Sending out my special hugs
