SQ - Those play centres can be a nightmare for their prices. We didn't go often when the girls were little as they seemed to get bored very quickly....they much preferred the park/the beach or the garden. Hope your mood picks up for the rest of the weekend, the choccy egg should help ;)

My 2 are only just out of their beds - DD1 has a throat infection and looks and feels lousy, she's got an afternoon of college work, tv watching and medicinal choccy to look forward too. DD2 will be revising with her music at ear splitting volume, I would moan about the music but she's revising and that's what counts.

I've just had a huge turf out and clean of the living room - all the sofas and furniture out and cleaned under/over/behind. Have lit a nice smelly candle in there so it smells lovely at the moment. Just about to make a chilli for tonights meal....my inlaws love my chilli and request it everytime they come over.

I've had 4 orders in this morning for papercuts - 3 have already been designed and were just agreed on this morning and one is for a new design so I shall have a bit of a drawing session later. :) I'm so pleased to have found something I enjoy doing.

SQ when my girls were little, we used to always take some treats with us. I could often only just afford to go in, so if they asked for anything else I had to say no. If we ever ate out, they got a happy meal from mcd as they were only £2.

my decision on the job, maybe I didn't explain myself over it very well. I still take AD and im worried about my coping. The job I can do, just worry about home life - would I still be able to keep the house tidy etc. I know its sad to worry about keeping up with housework. Im a bit ocd with it.
Oh is fast asleep on the sofa, DD is watching a Disney film in her room, me well im curled up in the armchair under a blankey. It has turned chilly here.

I hope everyone has a nice time over the easter celebrations, reguardless what you have planned to do. I am treating the kids to 10 pin bowling later on today. After that I have no idea what we are doing - a few day relaxing at best. Take care all x

Attagirl SQ, welcome to the wonderful parental world of coming last in everything technological when played against offsprings!!! DD1 has a Wii Fit and there is the most fun programme on it that is penguins catching fish. You have to stand on the platform and lean from side to side when you're the penguin and catch fish that jump into the air. Both mine have it off to a fine art and get mega scores when we play, me? well lets just say that when I'm the penguin I never catch any fish and have to spend the entire game climbing out of the water back onto my perch!!! Glad you're Ok with the day now lovie, carry on carrying on IYKWIM!!! Lyn xxx.

    Afternoon all.

Been a manic week here. OH went off to work away, Came home yesterday after working 16 hour shifts everyday since Monday morning. So as you can imagine yesterday he was shattered. But he can never sit still, So after going into work this morning, He’s come outside and decided to fix a garden bench we was given.

I on the other hand, Am trying to do a million things at once. I have managed to tidy the entire house from top to bottom, Do roughly 6 loads of washing which is now out drying getting in OH’s way.

Time for a quick tea break whilst deciding what shopping is needed in order for me to meal plan for the next month.
OH is due to have his dental work done in approx a week, So a lot of the evening meals will have to be easy to eat / shakes ect.

Then tomorrow we’re out for the whole day to MIL’s house to help prepare for OH’s sisters 16th birthday party happening tomorrow! Sunday is a day of rest before it all starts again Monday (OH working).

Another spanner in the works here. OH was due to get paid today, Checked yesterday too to see whether it would have gone in early because of the bank holiday. Nothing, Still nothing today. So whilst at work, OH asked his boss what was going on. It seems no one remembered that they had to pay OH (Small business - Boss is OH‘s brother)

So now we have 5 days to go without OH’s wages. Luckily, Thanks to you lovely lot, We started putting money aside to make sure we was covered if something like this happened. Either way, we’re not happy.!

PS: Does anyone have some idea's on the best thing to use on extreme nappy rash? Its been caused from teething? x

Anyways, Tea cup is nearly empty…….be back later x

Teething bum! My health visitor said the two weren't linked.....well she was wrong. I always knew then DD1 was teething by he nappies.

I used to use just plain warm water to clean her up and then as much fresh air to the bum as possible...I'd have her on a couple of bath towels on the floor, nappiless as long as we could then a decent smearing of sud ocrem when the nappy went back on.

Some babies do seem to suffer more than others :(

  • That is exactly what I used to do Pooky, as much fresh air as possible which will dry it and then sudocrem when you put the nappy on.

I don't know where your HV found her facts from but I could always tell when both my DDs were teething. Their poor little bottoms would be red and sore over night, but leaving off the nappy for as long as possible was the best way.

Princess - as previous. Plenty of fresh air to dry it out, my HV brought me some Fullers Earth Powder to dust DS2's poor little blistered bum ( & me in tears too!) but as that was over 40 years ago it probably is 'Old Wives' stuff even though it worked a treat.

I'm sure that teething bum is caused by the huge increase in saliva going through the digestive system and disrupting the balance of things.

I agree with Pooky's suggestion, as much air as possible around the sore bits and Sudocrem. It works. Giving baby lots to drink to dilute strong urine is a help as well.

My trike doesn't have any form of suspension and even with a gel saddle I get quite saddle-sore sometimes, Sudocrem heals me in a trice.

Nutty, I would go for the manager's job and use some of the extra pennies to pay for a cleaner. It's amazing the difference two hours a week makes.

I've just remembered something that never fails to make me laugh re babies and nappies. Until DD was nearly 3 we lived in a flat where the main bathroom was through the bedroom. When she was about 8 months old, I was ill in bed with flu, and my exOH was with her in the lounge.

There was a horrified shout and ex came running through the bedroom into the bathroom with DD held at arms' length. He had put her in her potty chair (low chair with table) and on opening her bowels, she had then investigated the contents of her potty, whilst he did the ironing, blissfully unaware , until he looked up...

Thirty -five years have passed and his expression as he shot past the bed with her still make me laugh. :D :rotfl:

Edit: I remember Fuller's Earth being suggested, also cornflour though I think nothing beats fresh air to dry things up and heal. Manuka honey works on all wounds, and you can always eat what's left when baby has healed. :)

Thanks for all the suggestions. Its my niece and her parents are stumped! Baby has been teething since 8 weeks old, But the big teeth are really cutting thick & fast. So far she spends more time out the nappy then in one (loads of accidents, including on people) and plenty of cream. Wipes have been stopped and gone back to cotton wool & water and no cream found to work.
