...Well another night where I see the sun come up. I can't get to sleep. ...

CC, when my dad passed, my mum used to use her non-sleeping nightimes to sort out all the family photos and write on the back who was who, when & where taken. It was a massive help when she died in 2005 as we didn't have a clue about the ones older than us.
Thanks Mardatha. Unfortunately our Practice Manager seems to regard patients as interruptions to the smooth running of the office! I managed to get to see a GP yesterday by ringing continuously from 8:15 and got the last available 'book on the day' appointment. GP wants all sorts of further test and I'm not looking forward to them at all.
As for the B12 injection - it appears I need 6 of them over a two week period with the pattern of Mon, Wed, Fri repeated and I can't have them because the practice can't fit that into their schedule. Have now been told I'll have to wait til they can - no idea when that will be.:mad::mad:...

AOT, I agree that you need to follow that up with the Senior Partner - that is absolutely appalling that a patient in need has to fit in with the staff.

Just a late night call before I iron a few things to pack. We are off for the weekend tomorrow morning early.

CC: Don't rush yourself. This is a different life you are living now and it will take some time to adjust. Quite apart from the grief, which must be indescribable, you must be exhausted and out of your depth. Lovey, give yourself time before trying to get into routines and worrying about when, if and how long you are sleeping. Treat this as 'time out' when anything goes. When you are feeling a bit better and more able to cope - at least some of the time - then you can start getting back into some sort of routine, but it will probably be different from the old one. Just be gentle with yourself. And come on here to rant, weep and unload, it's a safe place.

AOL: I heartily agree with everyone else. It's hard to put your foot down when you are feeling so low but just keep telling yourself that you are paying the wages of these medical people and they are not giving you what you have paid for. There would be plenty said if it was a firm or a shop who was messing you about, and this is no different. In fact it's worse because your health and wellbeing is at stake. Be Brave. Be Bold. Be Persil Automatic. (as the Rev has been known to sing in church.)

Kidcat: That's awful. My DS1 works as a recovery driver and heads would roll if he left someone for that length of time. If anything is said to your DH about him not being at work at 3.30am he can surely cite the hours he was abandoned today. As he is still officially at work there must be some 'Elf and Safety rule about the hours he is able to drive before taking a break, and NO, sitting in a broken down van at the side of the road does not constitute a break.

Morning toughies :) OH finally arrived home at 9.30pm throughly annoyed and exhausted, he was out again at 3.30am and had no way of communicating that he couldnt do todays run. He has said that he should be finished and back for 2pm and he will come home early. But I am really not happy, as I dont think its safe.

I am supposed to be packing, but am more procrastinating as I am too tired to move today, cleaner has arrived so I have taken the decision to sit for an hour while she is here and hopefully my energy will catch up with me :)

Monna - have a lovely weekend.

Nutty - glad your car is being sorted, I hope he has learnt a valuable lesson through this :)

Morning all, have been to aldi, lidl and mr s already. Used yet another voucher in the first, although me and mum had to put our shopping through together to use it. Gave a spare to a lovely old couple. They thanked me more than once on the way round the store. They had a beaming smile and treated themselves to a couple of things. I left another spare with the till operator. She always helps mum and I know she often forgets to buy the paper for the voucher. I offered to get her another next week if its in the mirror paper.
Window cleaner has been and as I took mum home he was sorting out the guttering for her as it has a slight green tinge to it. He only wanted £5 to clean it all, so she is more than happy. He calls every 6 weeks so not too often, but enough to keep on top of things.

Tomorrow we should receive payment for the car repairs, OH has elected to go out as he is still on the angry side. I can understand why, they were all for paying then wanted to go through the insurance until they found it would be on his driving record. So tomorrow morning they are due to call and pay me. We will see.... I checked with my insurers and if they don't turn up, we can claim against him. They agreed to help sort it for me.

Work have asked me to cover the shop this weekend, and I have been brave and said no. I am having 4 days off, and I will be back next Tuesday. I have also made a decision that I will do my 'fair' share but I wont be made to do any more than I know I can manage.

I got my DD (18) 2 Disney dvd's, they are on bogof, so we got finding nemo and princess and the frog. We love Disney, I am such a child when I see there shows, and such innocence.

Well must get ready for work, take care all x

Nutty well done for saying no. You have put up with alot from them and it's only right you should get a break every now and again. As for the car repairs they do realise it's on his driving record anyway? Any accident whether they claim or not is declarable and bring as you have spoken to your insurers and how the police were involved it will be on the database so he has to declare it or his insurance will be invalid.

Yes Nutty he still has to declare the accident, as do you, though obviously you will be not at fault.
Kidcat I hope poor DH is OK today, and that his work put in a huge complaint to the AA. Hopefully you've found a bit more energy now. We're packing too, I'm taking the children to my parents in Kent. We couldn't get cover for the animals so DH is staying here. I don't think he minds that much actually, I expect he'll do lots of relaxing, watch a few DVDs, read a few books, take the dogs for long walks. And why not.

I made my children pack so it went quite well (until we discover the things they don't have when it's too late).
DS has been out with friends every day this week, so am off to treat DD to a Pizza Hut buffet meal. Don't say I don't know how to live. Ha!

    Evening all

Kidkat - Possession - Hope you have fantastic Easter breaks away.

I'm not sure where this week has gone, I'm sure there was lots I was going to achieve....ahh well.

Had some things put into perspective this evening as a friend is in hospital having a tumour removed. Our neighbours across the road have just returned from the hospital after the husbands 2nd dose of Chemo and B-I-L has heard his multiple tumours have grown....sort of makes you think....s0d the housework ;)

No real Easter plans here - we don't really do anything. Inlaws coming for dinner tomorrow night but they will sit and watch something suitably boring with DH (I'm not a sci-fi fan but they are) so I will be allowed to play on my lappy and sort some new designs.

I need a real kick up the bum, grocery budget wise - I did a big shop yesterday - ended up at a supermarket this morning and spent another £32 and yet need to go out tomorrow for supplies for the evening meal (granted I didn't know until about half an hour ago that we were having guests) but really......someone slap me!
