  • It was WONDERCRUMP!!! but so is home!!! xxx.
  • Glad you are back safe and sound MrsLW and that you have obviously had a brilliant time. :T

The word 'ironing' is forbidden in this house since my lovely OH passed away - he did all that stuff for years as he had seen how useless I was. Now I only wave the implement at anything that will not improve by hanging in fresh air or damp bathroom.:rotfl:

Sorry to hear about the traffic incident nutty. I don't drive but am well aware of how many careless idiots there are about.

Well, my medical journey has taken another turn. Had blood tests last week to try to find out why am so exhausted all the time and it turns out I have B12 deficiency, which I know is Pernicious Anaemia as my late OH had the problem as well. At least its easily controlled these days with regular injections.

But, because of the way our surgery is run these days, I have to wait 3 weeks before I can see a GP to discuss it and the same before the first injection.

I'm away to pick up my crochet hook again now - am making a friend a shawl for her birthday but have, inadvertently, chosen a complicated pattern. I'm only on row 13 but has been pulled out at least 6 times. Can see is going to be a long job.

Welcome back Mrs LW - Sounds like you had a fab time.

Nutty - Sorry to hear about your troubles - it's one thing to bang into someone but to then be so rude and unco-operative is just daft. Hopefully you'll cheer up a bit when you see what I finished for you today :)

AOT - I was mindlessly crocheting last night whilst watching tv - supposedly making circle in square, granny squares....I sat for about an hour before I realised I'd just been making one huge square....need to engage brain before picking up hook!!!

The ironing fairy still hasn't shown her face, I'm going to have to give in and do some this evening as I need some jeans that don't fall down and they're in the bottom of the basket.

AOT that's not acceptable. Phone them and ask for an appt and say you're so exhausted and feeling pins and needles in legs, and you're unsteady. If you wait another 3 weeks you'll be so low you will take forever to pick up! My RV has pernicious anaemia as well and his jabs have come down gradually until he gets them every 4 weeks. We keep getting locums who loftily tell us no its 3-monthly, but our late lovely GP said it's as often as you need it. Just cos a 3-monthly one saves the surgery tuppence is no reason to make people suffer, and I won't have the RV treated like that.

Kidcat Just popped in to add my 'twopennorth' I HATE ironing sheets & quilt covers & always buy poly cotton but some are so thin they bobble & look shabby very quickly. As others have recommended Dunelm do Dorma poly cotton ( apparently they now own them) - a really good weight & I've had mine a couple of years now & they're still lovely. I always know which they are in the airing cupboard as they wash up really well ( & nice & crispy on the bed) I don't buy anything else now although they are a tad more expensive they are worth it.

I use to buy horrible cheap bedding when I had the boys young , trouble is it do bobble and the material is not good at all.....So I now always buy my bedding from next , yes you do pay a bit more but its quality that will last a long time and always look good........I usually buy from next when they have their half price sales which is normally 3 times a year, its a pleasure to iron good cotton..........

Lovely weather here again, so nice to have all doors open all day.......

Dam magpie raided the blackbirds nest in the garden , and left nothing at all, not happy , same thing happened last year with a great tits nest..........

My little hedgehog comes out to feed every night :D, love watching him, better than the tv.......

Ive got another SS meeting tomorrow with OH and the care home that he has been in since my op........

Ive been very tired of a night , I go to bed in between 8 and 9 , but always up about 5.30 to 6, and I do fall asleep within 10 mins of getting into bed, suppose I must need the sleep........
Hope all of you are doing ok , hugs and love to all the poorly ...Take care Sheila....

hi all, pooky its looks great!!!

Said young persons mum has called and offered to pay for all repairs, plastic trim bit is £140 plus it spraying to colour match the rest of the car. His parents are livid, and they are next door neighbours relatives. small world hey!! DD fianc! has offered to do the work, so should be about another £30 for the spray. Bit of an expensive mistake. She apologised for his attitude too, he only on on the road in february.

Sorry, had to reply to this.. if I found out either of my son's had been so rude I would have made them apologise to you in person, not say sorry for them!!
They would also be paying for ALL the repairs too..
That's just me, some of my friends say I'm far too hard, I feel that responsibility is lacking in so many it's shocking..

Hi all, was having a nice day until...... some egit ran into the back of my car. I had mum and DD in the car, and we stopped for the zebra crossing thingy, as an old lady was just crossing - not as though that should mater who it was. The traffic the other side had stopped too. This young lad, possibly about 17 was show boating and revving up his moped, didn't attempt to stop and hit the back of my car and then dropped the bike. His first words were, what did you stop for. My reply, the zebra crossing you ....... head. It was a rude word. Rang the police as he refused to tell me his name address or insurance details. As soon as I said I wanted them to attend, he reluctantly and rather cockily gave me some details. I am so angry.
Its only broke the plastic trim off the bumper, but it costs a lot to buy the car in the first place. He said it would cost about a tenner to repair, obviously he hasn't entered the adult world yet.

Sorry for the rant, ive spoke to OH. He was worried I was ok. Well I have to go to work now, just for a few hours.

    Take care all, x

We've just been through this a few weeks ago. I'm so angry on your behalf

MAKE SURE YOU CLAIM FOR THE NEXT FIVE YEARS OF EXTRA EXPENSE ON YOUR INSURANCE as only a few don't charge you extra if you have been in an accident even if it's not your fault.

Sorry if I'm not making sense but just got back from T's and the car started making a noise and now smells like it's going to blow up so downing a bottle of plonk and going to deal with it in the morning.

I have a cold sore as well!

And DH was accused of stealing wood down the lottie but that has been quite amusing as we are now calling him Robbin Wood and keep asking him where his merry men are :rotfl:

I'm pleased that accident resolved in the right way, Nutty.
A very good friend (male) came off his moped in an accident when he worked as a messenger boy for the Post Office (late 60s/early 70s).

He broke both wrists, but was one of eight brothers, so was relatively OK, as far as some things were concerned.....
