mcculloch - great to see you on here too!
Really sorry that the past couple of days haven't been terribly OS. Busy though....
About to do a TGI Friday's survey in the hope of getting a free appetiser next time, but I doubt that I'll go near one again for the next few months when it's valid.
Just done the washing up - does that count as OS? Back on track tomorrow....Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0 -
Bit of an exhausting day, long dog walk (and run, but not by me!), putting up zebra stripe curtains (DD), much picture putting-up and transferal of plants from one place in the garden we recently planted them to another - much joy from DH at the prospect of that, as you can imagine. We are moving the (sofa-devouring) house rabbits outside into a second-hand shed and the plant spot is shortly going to be slabbed for a run. Still, I'm going to use the opportunity to get more productive plants into my garden. Eventually.0

Hello folks,
don't think I have posted since Friday! Friday DS7 had a friend over and I did some chores including defrosting the little freezer that was resembling a mini ice-age all on its own. I have been dreading doing it for ages so really pleased its done (and I can open the top drawer easily now!)
Sat was cheap cinema, home for a late lunch and then a trip into town to keep kids out of DH's way (studying again.) I can't get much real shopping done with them but did find a new Asian greengrocers (nice change from the supermarkets that dominate) and got some cheap strawberries and some bargain priced and ginormous (think the gigantic turnip) jacket spuds. We spent ages browsing a toy shop (groan but DS9's birthday next month) and they had an icecream (DS9 gave me a couple of spoons of his, DS7 didn't!)
Today we went to a favourite outdoor place, lovely spot to play and picnic. Great weather and lots of laughter. Icecreams again, me too this time, it was really warm and they had me playing footie and chasing them around a maze so actually the icecream was medicinal! Boys mentioned DH several times throughout the day, saying what a fab day we were having but it would have been even better with daddy. We will all be so glad when DH's course finishes, its severely cutting into our family time.
We threw caution to the wind and had a Chinese takeaway for dinner, boys on the fussy side with food but they finally both love a couple of the dishes at our local takeaway (which we have about once a year!) The chef came out and knew me and DS9 and I knew her face but couldn't remember who she was. The penny dropped at home. She must have thought I was acting strangely bluffing my way through the conversation. That seems to happen to me a fair bit, people remember me, my name, the children, everything and I think eeek I can't remember anything about you! Anyway she had dropped 4 fortune cookies in the bag which we have never had from them before which pleased the boys no end. DH and I packed the kids to bed early with games consoles (a treat in bed) and then books so we could watch something on TV together for a change. One of those really happy days....
DH is snoring away... yes another loud snorer, hope I can get to sleep tonight
night night to anyone still up

Pooky I like them crisp and not slippy, will have a look at dunhe!m now thank you
That made me look twice... hadn't been on for a couple of days; my mind was going overtime as to what could be sometimes crispy, sometimes slippy and sold in Dune!m. :rotfl:Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
Hello all hope everyone is well xxx0

Y'all are starting Monday and I'm just finishing up Sunday.
Just a flurry of snow on Saturday and it didn't hang around. Dog walked. He seems to have lost a chunk of fur. I can't think how. It's undercoat. I don't know if he got a claw stuck and pulled it out or rubbed against a tree. He doesn't seem to be in pain or tender but the skin is hot and doesn't feel right. He's off to see his dogtor tomorrow.
Husband is settling into retirement. Changed all the tyres on the cars and is going to do his truck tomorrow. The lawn has been thatched, potting soil scattered and I saw a tiny bit of green in the front flower bed.
I'm off to work at 0530 tomorrow, it's an early start day but I finish early so that is great. Unfortunately, I've seen the staff roster and the Charge nurse and myself will be doing most of the work. Three of the four working with us are all retired and have come back "to socialize and get out of the house" their words. It's going to be a long and hard slog.
Where's Fuddle? I hope she's not burning the candle at both ends to quickly.0 -
Morning all
Kidkat - I don't think I've ever heard of sheets being described that way....are you sure it's sheets you're after?
Lovely sunny morning here, might venture off somewhere with DD's later when they eventually rise from their pits. I wish I could sleep like a teenager again, I seem to be awake at just gone 5am every morning lately.
Wonder - Hope your woofer is ok, love the idea of a "dog"tor.
SQ - Sounds like you had a lovely day with your boys. Hope DH's study was productive.
The ironing fairy still hasn't been, the hoover fairy seems to have joined her in her holiday and the dishwasher elves seem to have given up hope. You just can't get the staff these days!"Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
Morning all.
Haven’t really got much to report at the moment.
Still having family problems on both sides. So most of the time, OH and I are hiding from them.
OH is away this week in Devon. He left this morning at 7:30 and arrived in 2 hours. No bad going.
We spent practically all weekend getting on top of everything, Including the housework, But suddenly the house seems a tip. So I will slowly potter around today to get that done.
Hope everyone is enjoying the sun. xFuture goals:
Become debt free.
Beat Depression.
Be happy & healthy0 -
Loving the " Dog tor" as well
Washing and lots of it here. I want to be on the allotment not spending this lovely weather on household chores (stamping foot like petulant child)
I managed to sell a few bits on Eb@y yesteday, it's still like doing a deal with the devil but there is no other choice really. FB is ok for odds and sods but it's a faff of waiting in and people not showing up.
A fella has just been to pick up an item of furniture so that's one less thing cluttering the house up and I'm treating the kids to a cinema ticket each for Spiderman as they really don't ask for anything.
The middle one even tells his friends he only asks for needs not wants as it's not fair.......... oh that will change I'm sure when the teens really kick in (boys are a bit slower at getting to the Kevin and Perry stage IMO)
Well Cinders must get back to work, can't sit here all day chatting
