Shergar, we tell our patients to expect the stuffed up feeling to last 2-3 weeks. It's nearly over.

When my youngest had the surgery, he said the stuffy feel lasted a month.

Best benefit is he no longer snores. Trust me, his snoring rattled windows.

I think the only thing that would stop DH snoring is a very close pillow ;)

Afternoon toughies I cannot believe you are all this quiet. What on earth are you all up to? :)

My OH had an operation to solve his snoring ten years ago. It didn't work and at the followup appointment I complained and was told tough. His snores could be measured on the richter scale!

He has definitely cracked ribs but still gone into work today which is worrying because the tablets they gave him are fairly strong. I have asked the question again about this job last night, he has been there six months and so far broken two fingers and cracked three ribs. Just how safe is it?

We did a soft play session this morning and then off to buy summer hats. Cannot understand how hard it is to find hats for kids, surely now is the time to sell them?

This afternoon I am planning movie and duvet to relax and chill as both ds are getting very fraught.

    Afternoon all

Kidkat - enjoy your relaxing afternoon. Ouch to DH though.

My DH's snoring got to the stage that I was tempted to smoother/strangle/divorce him - he saw the sleep clinic was tested and found to have sleep apnoea and now has a cpap machine which is wonderful.

DD1 is on her way home from her holiday - she's got a stinking cold and is looking forward to some "mummy" pampering. Toad in the hole with roast potatoes on the menu for tonight (her favourite) and an early night for her!

Had a customer come pick up a papercut today - she was so thrilled with it and has asked me to design something else too!

Need a kick up the bum to go do some ironing - I'm sure that ironing fairy has forgotton where I live again....who has her??? stop hogging!!

Delurking to ask Pooky - how does it go with the Cpap?

Is it loud? do you sleep in the same room? (sorry if that's personal) I think my OH has sleep apnoeia and also snores for England (that England team must be quite big, no?), when the spare room is unoccupied it isn't so bad as I have somewhere to go. Unfortunately next week we are on holiday - no spare room, and it is a boat so I'm thinking a spare room won't make a lot of difference.

    Ear plug time.
I wanna be in the room where it happens

    Afternoon everyone :)

Monna you'd have more freedom being married! ;) enjoy your you time.

Just a quick post before I do chicken and veg.

Weather lovely today but its brought out a problem. Seems we have ground bees that took up nest while the ground was bare before we grass seeded.

DH is doing a marvellous job on fixing/altering/make do and mend with the shed. we have to buy some more overlap but no where near as much in cost as a new shed! I'm on with staining the woodwork as the fencing. Slowly coming together.

My weekend on this weekend so trying to have a calm night. I feel pooped already so really need to recharge my batteries or ill be burnt out come Sunday evening.

Good news is I have changed suppliers for my electricity. My company have been really pants and enough is enough. They have given me 1000 nectar points as an apology for shoddy customer service but its not good enough. Thankfully, due to that prepayment meter I hadn't fixed. I am now with OVO and enjoying proper customer service. The direct debit amount has been set and it is an amount that I think is fair and reasonable... Even though I don't like them having a DD I did read about interest on what is in my account so have to look into that.

Meals have changed yet again here. We are not having meals as in recipes but consisting of meat and 2 veg, sometimes a potato but often not. I'm sinking my food budget into decent meat fruit, veg and dairy. I can't say I have noticed any weightloss though... about to give up on losing weight. I don't know what the heck I do!!

Blast, just lost a post. VJsmum, in my experience ( a friend used one whilst staying here) a CPAP machine is not particularly noisy. It gurgles and hisses a bit, but as nothing compared with the snores of someone with sleep apnoea.

My friend was once described by another close friend - prior to treatment - as sounding 'like the Titanic docking' when she snored.

The CPAP machine really improved her quality of life, as once she was used to it, she slept far more deeply and woke refreshed.

POOKY & MCCULLOCH......Ive also got a cpap machine , and yes I also feel refreshed after a good sleep, plus my terrible snoring has stopped , before I used the machine I woke more tired than when I went to bed............

WONDERCOLLIE.....Thanks for informing me of the blocked up nose that most people suffer for a couple weeks after the op , at least my terrible headaches have gone since the op ......Im sure I will benefit from the op, and I can only get better from now on since the op...........

Been beautiful day again, and the garden could really do with some rain , ive got loads of perennials coming through nicely , things seem to be quite a bit earlier this year , due to lots of sunshine during march.........

    CC.....Thinking of you daily.......

I had a hedgehog use to visit us all of last year , and he hibernated under the summerhouse in the winter, 2 weeks now and he is out every night coming to the patio doors for his evening meal, mealworms, crushed peanuts, sultaners and sunflower seeds.......I lay down in front of the doors and watch him feed, such a fascinating little animal , Bo the dog isnt impressed with it..............Take care all....Sheila

Not quite so chilled today. The man came to change all our smoke detectors and I'd forgotten he was coming. He manfully climbed over piles of stuff, dodging boxes and cartons, carefully positioning his ladder between bags and cases while I followed him round the house wringing my hands and whimpering grovelling apologies.
Then someone called round to give me a message - which took just over an hour, someone phoned for a long chat "in case I was lonely!" I had to run up to the shops and when I got back DIL was there with DGS and DGD. I had lunch at 4.00pm. Still, I have cleared out a few kitchen cupboards and chucked out things that were horribly out of date. A year or two I don't mind, but 2008? I really should do it more often, or better still, not buy 'bargains' that I don't really need.

This evening it's finishing off the Easter Chicks in front of the telly.
