cc..glad to here your plodding along, think giving nic nacks to his/your friends is a great idea , sure they would love it, but do whatever is right for you , ..will think of you tomorrow night when I am running along, where I live there is lots of very steep hills, the view from the top is fab, so I have to stop to admire the view, ...well that's what I will tell people, its good to blow the cobwebs off ...that's if I haven't been tripped over by my little dog, she is great all the way round and happy to run along , but I must have the only cocker spaniel who doesn't like mud/puddles/water , she will just stop dead or jump to go around them, which would be fine except for her lead then trip's me up , sending me through said puddles ...ho hum ...x

CC I think that is a lovely thing to do, it's one of those things he would secretly love to have but it's not done to ask. I'm sure it will mean the world to him.

I'm going to try to sort the rhubarb out on the lottie today but I still have a quiffy tummy so dare not go far :rotfl:

    Morning toughies :)

CC I think that's a lovely idea. I had the sad task of helping my mum clear my Nan's flat and I wanted to keep everything (totally impractical but I just couldn't bear to part with her stuff) but we ended up doing a similar sort of thing with her friends.

Many a tear was shed as we delivered her little knick knacks, she had nothing of real value but she always had names for her stuff so it was lovely seeing people say "ooh that's Bert" etc :)

Stilty glad you had a lovely time yes the weather has been great hasn't it? I forget everyone North of Watford is used to subzero lolol

PIC hope your tum feels better soon nothing worse than trying to dig like that!!

Burtha keeping my fingers crossed for your scan

I didn't think to mention Debenhams for Floss I get all my boys work/smart suits and even a fair bit of casual stuff from there, very good quality stuff I agree.

I'm in a CBA mood today...I may have a lazy day indoors with DS3 even though I'm boring according to him as I'm useless at console games which is his new best thing! Good job DS2 is about.

Time for more caffeine,it might kickstart me into action but then again it may not lol

have a great day all XX

Burtha we had a dog who used to avoid all puddles and we even had to clear a path for a wee in the garden when it snowed. If it was raining he would just turn around and go back in the house - would never walk in the cold either. Bless him, he was a character. In our old house we had a coal fire, many a time an ember would fall on him and you could smell singed fur!!! he didn't move tho, as he would be colder if he didn't lay on the rug next to the fire!!!!!!

Just been to aldi, I was there for 8am and then I popped into lidl to get the other DD some purple towels for her new home as they were on offer. We then popped by the farm shop and got home for 915am. Brilliant!!
Just rang the builders on behalf of my daughter, she is in the process of buying her first home on a 50% buy and 50% rent basis. She asked for the colour of the worktop and kitchen doors, and would they tile the bathroom walls - the estate agents just said you will find out when they are built. So I have rang and they have assured me they will call back later with the answers. fingers crossed they will be able to help.

I need to report the big yellow ball is in my garden and its lovely and warm. just a shame I will be at work at lunchtime.
    take care all x

    Morning one and all

thinking of you today burtha - hope the scan goes well

pooky - had a look at your crafts page and am blown away!!

Well we got to the park yesterday but didn't stay long. There were a group of about 6 adults with a single small child there and a dog on a lead. All fine til they let the dog off the lead. This is a small playarea with gates clearly saying "no dogs except guide dogs" and outside a huge green and semi-wooded area with paths where many people walk their dogs. The dog weed on the slide and they didn't clean it and as they were acting irresponsibly I decided we were safer away from the park. Not the dog's fault but I didn't feel safe. Some "joker" had padlocked 2 swings together as well.

We then went over to a friend's house - my friend and her son and stayed from 2.30 til after 9pm. DS7 rarely stays up (or awake) past 8pm so he loved being out at that time. We generally like routines for the children but in the school holidays, I think some rule breaking is the order of the day!

Today I am feeling sleepy and we are not dressed yet. DS9 has friend over to play after lunch and although I intend doing some chores whilst they play (hopefully without any fallings out) I would like the living room tidyish before they come. it is the very opposite at the moment, as is the kitchen so best get cracking. Yesterday's dishes still unwashed and yesterday's washing still on the line.... and that's about as "naughty" as I get ha ha

Had some sad news today, another friend's father has passed away. That is the 4th similar piece of sad news from good friends we have had in the last 8 months. I have been doing a lot of deep thinking this morning.

sending lots of hugs out today, please take one and pass it on

and a ps.... my youngest has invented a new sport he reckons should be in the Olypmics. He runs the length of our hall and living room which has a long narrow "path" until his PJ bottoms fall down. I think I need to sort out the elastic! He has had DS9 and I in fits.

I love the sound of that game!!! I'm currently doing my version of it and "oooching" up my jeans every 5 seconds - DD2 took pity on me and went to find me a belt :)

Off to DD2's orthodontist appointment in a bit and then a quick trip to town to post some parcels and grab some essentials - looks like a fab spring day out there and we'd hoped to go to the zoo this afternoon but DH has already had a couple of falls this morning so we shall stay closer to home.

burtha -Thinking of you today, hope all goes well.

monnagran - I wasn't going to mention mice playing, it's a sore point in our house atm as the cat is pretty useless as a mouser :D Glad you're enjoying the break!

kidcat - Sorry you feel so worn out :( I hope you can get to the doc asap.

cornish chick - Giving your husband's bits and pieces to his friends sounds a briliant idea, they will love to have them to remember him by :)

VickyA - Hello! How nice to "see" you again! Glad you're ok.

stiltwalker -Glad you're having a nice time :)

Floss - Brilliant news, well done! You have already had some good suggestions for work clothes, just to add that the ones in BHS look nice and are good value if you have a branch near you.

Sorry not to mention everyone, can't remember what everyone said, but sending hugs to everyone in need of some :)

I think we're going to the tip today, will have to see what we can get into the car without damaging the suspension ;)

Just had the good news that I've been offered a PA to Director post with a local NHS trust, so any ideas to find good smart workwear (suits/dresses etc) would be gratefully received...but please bear in mind that I turned 50 just over a week ago so nothing too short/ tight/ skimpy please!

    Hi Floss,

I have a similar job and order blouses from TM Lewin. They do 3 for £75 sometimes £60. Very good quality. Todays model is 4 years old and looks fine! If you live near a store they always have a clearance line and I find the skirts the best quality. I also buy shift dresses in Marks or BHS. Very easy to wear. Go for the best court shoes you can afford and reheel regularly. Congratulations
