    morning all,

Cornish chick, so nice to read a post from you, the twisted fire starter made me smile with a tear in my eye!! for my dads funeral I did a wreath with vegetables attached to it, a primula in a pot and a hand trowel. Dad was a farmer, and loved his vegetable garden. Made everyone smile, lots of photos taken to show others down the pub! made my brother angry at the start but after the service he agreed it was funny as everyone was talking about it.
Just take every day as it comes, do as you please and whatever you feel or want to do is all acceptable.

DD hasn't heard from the interview, so I have a feeling she hasn't got it.

Have just sent DD to the shop for my newspaper - I need my aldi voucher! and she is having her haircut.

    Will pop by later,
pooky, I hope you enjoy the challenge with DD paper cut idea.

    take care all x

    hi everyone
cornish chick - Big (((HUGS))) to you. You'd be surprised to know how much you are thought of by us all even though we've never met. Glad the funeral went well.

Shegar - You must be feeling very battered and bruised, I know my DGS did, but it will all be worth it. So very sorry to hear about your sister

kidcat - Hope you are doing ok today.

nuttyp - fingers x'd your DD gets good news about the job. I'd love to have seen the wreath you made for your Dad.

monnagran - Have fun while the Rev's away ;) You're quite right, things do go missing when a house move happens.....! Not your fault!

I'm trying to gradually do some sorting in our son's room lately. He's not actually a hoarder, in that he doesn't acquire things specifically to hang onto them, but has lots of stuff in his room such as old letters and feels too tired/busy to have the motivation to sort it out so the walls can be re-plastered. His sister has offered to help, but he's too embarrassed about it to take her up on her offer! But I think he can cope with me doing it, if I do it very gently. Of course, a lot of the reason he's tired is because he has all that "stuff"! I read the Hoarding thread regularly and that helps, knowing others are in the same situation.

I will post a pic of dads wreath, will ask mum for a copy of the photo. Not something everyone wants to see, but there was some humour in its making and a different outlook on a tradition of only being flowers.

aldi voucher in the sun is valid today until Saturday the 19th of april. so if you shop there weekly you can use one this week and one next and the following week the mirror should have a voucher again valid for a week .
so..... for the next 4 weeks we could therotically have £5 off a £40 spend .

    I love a good voucher.

Hello all :hello: Can I join please?

I've just realised that today is my 10th anniversary of being on MSE - that's longer than DH and I have been married! So, time to join in on new things.

I'm on my Easter holiday from school (I'm a teacher) for a fortnight, so I think it's time to catch up on being OS. Even though I've been trying to be OS for ages and have posted on other threads, I need more impetus! :o

I have always done batch cooking, but my freezer is now empty as I run down stocks during term time. I also have a small problem with hoarding. To be honest, I genuinely think it's because I was brought up with it. My dad has been a hoarder and when we cleared my grandma's house, we had to give away 15 tea services. I wish I were joking.

So, onwards and upwards! I have an office (3rd bedroom) to declutter! :o

A good morning to you all

please join the madhouse Vicky :) - you will be made very welcome!

thanks for the voucher thumbs up nutty - very useful to me. we are off to our local park later and pass a paper shop so will pick up a couple of papers.

Hi cornishchick - thanks for posting, we are all thinking of you every day. As everyone says just take one day at a time, even one hour at a time. You are one inspirational woman and so glad you are part of our online family. Huge hugs to you today.

Shegar - sorry to hear about your sister - sounds like she is made of strong stuff like you. Hope her treatment goes well, keep us posted. Hope you have a restful day today, one step further to recovery.

Good luck to those decluttering and sorting out today. I still have a looong way to go but have made noticeable progress this week already - well will be once the (many) clothes bags have gone.

One load on line another to follow soon. I have done something to my neck, been like it for a couple of weeks. I can still do most things ok if I turn my whole body round instead of just my head but hopes it doesn't start to affect my back, then the real fun would start.

The funeral went well yesterday. Very lucky that 2 other friends (of my friend) went as well so we all sat together otherwise I would have been in a row on my own. One of these friends and myself went back to the house and rescued a hapless male relative who was making individual cuppa requests one by one. One of us took a kettle, jug, cups and teabags and the other the same with mugs and coffee jar and we did rounds, far more efficient and glad to have something to do practically. My friend held herself together well and we all hugged lots. Her little boy who is autistic coped amazingly, very proud of him. He alternated hugging his mum and dad, such a sweetie.

My two are having a mad half hour, champing at the bit to go out but the garden doesn't appeal (my poor head!) but I have to wait until the 2nd load is finished first.

    ok enough rambling, laters alligators
hugs all round and a little bit of sunshine for you all, especially those far north :)

Cc Thank you for taking the time to let us know how you are doing. Taking things one step at a time as you are doing is the only way to get through all these things.

Welcome vickya my grandfather was a hoarder and I was left with most of the sorting afterwards.

Ivy good luck clearing your son room.

I have woken with some energy today so am off shopping ( buying my vouchers first - I have an issue with buying the offending paper however am told a local paper has same couchettes)and then taking kids out for an hour this afternoon. We can use our membership cards for somewhere making it a freebie.
Then tomorrow I will need drag kids shopping poor ds15 needs tops as he appears to have grown over night. I think both dd8 and ds10 need school shoes as well so will commune the trips and get all sorted at once.

OH in Edinburgh again today so it will be another late one tonight meaning I get to to the swimming run again. Looking forward to this one as it will the first ds10 has dine with his new prescription goggles so am hoping they make a big difference to him.

    Morning all.

CC thank you for posting & the funeral sounds lovely. I’m pretty sure that the fire starter would have had some shocked faces should you have used it x

FPK: Where are you hun? Hope everything is well.

Where to start? Well, I have been flooded with people offering me their aldi vouchers, So far, The count is up to 3! I have said to OH that I will keep an eye out for a few people in the store on shopping day to give a couple away. I have seen our some of the local fb selling pages that people are selling them, Which is only going to result in them eventually getting banned. Makes me so cross.

OH washing, ironing & packing is all done. I don’t know how I am going to manage alone for a week. Normally OH is my support therefore, I will be home for a entire week. Feeling really nervous about it too.

Kidcat, Sedation is great. Hope yours went well. I only remembered one thing and that was at one point I felt a tugging feeling whilst someone was holding my head. Then, I was told that it would take around 30 minutes to come around from the sedation, I was up, walking, talking and trying to get home within 6!

Ebay, I was a buyer who brought a gilet, Over 3 weeks later, Loads of call’s to the sorting office, Emailing the seller, I found out (Through) ebay, That a lot of people are reporting scams. Lucky I managed to get my money back, Inc postage, But it’s beginning to become a right pain. I never sell on there anymore. Its not proving fruitful for us.

Looks like I am back at the doctors soon, Everyone around me has noticed that I have little or no energy. I can’t even do something simple like dust the living room before I am completely shattered. I have a suspicion it may be down to low iron count. The reason for me saying that is, I had a blood test done recently and was told my iron is borderline and I should take iron supplements. Then, A on call doctor told me not too. Seems to relate. I also cant stop sleeping. I could sleep 10 hours solid then I wake feeling like I haven’t slept a wink.

Anyways, that’s me, Better stop my rambles now. Take care all x
