Stunning sunset tonight after 'persisting' down all day. Hope tomorrow is dry as forecast - Bon Voyage Mrs L!Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0

Kidcat am so glad you put your foot down, you do so much for everyone and need a break.
Sheila, you enjoy the break, its much needed and will mean things will be better for both of you. Sounds as if the op went well, good you had chance to rest as instructed.
Went off to Hobbycraft to buy some yarn and picked our take away up on the way back so am full and contented. The womens institute do yarn nowand its lovely quality and not too expensive, especially on buy2 get one free. I didnt buy a lot but will be using it from now on.

Thanks SILVASAVA we're off at 5.30 tomorrow morning and looking forward to a whole days gawping at the wonders of gay Paris!!! We'll dump our bags in the luggage room at the hotel and have a whole day wandering on foot and being tourists.
SHEILA glad you're home and through the ordeal of the op, just you look after yourself and rest up and get your breath back before you start being superwoman again!!! Hope your sister is OK too, Lyn xxx.0 -
Sheila, so glad it went well and you can have a rest now. And ditto with you having a rest too Kidcat. Mandatory rests all round I think.
Had a lovely parcel delivered today - Pooky's beautiful paper cut, she's very talented! DH's grandparents will absolutely love it.
Have had DS home poorly today, and for the second evening in a row he's been coughing so much he's thrown up all over the bed. Much joy. I'll be taking him to the doctor tomorrow I think, don't like it when he's like this because he has asthma.
Have fun in Paris Mrs LW!0 -
Loving all the pet pics , especially MRS CHIPS dog, he looked a little rascal........
I had my sinus op last Monday, all went well, Ive got to see the consultant in 5 weeks time, that should be when im at the max with how it should be ..........
It was and is very painful, im feeling very blocked up in my nose, and also the nose is still bleeding , although its watery now, just hoping that that will be the end of my sinus probs..........I stayed in for 2 nights on their advise , and ive havent done anything strenuous since the op .......
OH in respite for a nother week , which is lovely just having myself to look after......
I havent gone back on the posts for the past week , just read the past 3 pages........
All for now folks....Sheila
You will feel stuffed up for the next 2 or 3 weeks especially if they used a muracel type packing. If they pulled tampons out of your nares you will still feel stuffed up but not as badly.
Avoid fatty food. Don't let shower spray hit you full face, you don't want the pressure on your sinus area.
Sorry, but this is the area I currently work in and spent all last night looking after septoplasty patients.
I'm off to bed again.0 -
Sympathies to all who aren't so good. I was all set to do a casserole for tea today with intermittent heavy showers, then stepped out into the garden and felt the warm sun on my face - I don't sunbathe but I was stood for 2-3 minutes with my eyes shut, basking.
A casserole seemed all wrong after that, so Jack's Creamy Salmon Pasta with Chilli Lemon Kick got another airing. It was only after eating it that I noticed that the yogurt was 2 weeks past the UBD. It was fine.
Tomorrow I am off to buy pots and compost for my baby orange chilli plants. I might get the big pots as well as the potting on pots to save trips later. I am going on holiday in May so will invest in some water retention granules too. It will be heartbreaking if they die.
Quick something to share with you that made my week. Last night - Sunday - a friend popped in on her way back from a conference that she had found very stressful (though informative).
She needed to ground herself and thought 'I need to see someone whom I know loves me. I know, I shall see And.'
When she told me this I felt very humbled. It was lovely. She is like another sister to me.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -

Hi doorsteppers,
Anniversary congratulations to ginny and D&DD!
Glad to hear shegar and kidcat are ok. Take it easy still shegar and hope you are feeling better today kidcat - good for you letting your DH get on with things yesterday.
Hope your son is ok Possession.
Mcculloch - what a lovely thing for your friend to say - from your posts I am not surprised. And on that note please say hello to Pops from me and that I am thinking of him.
Beautiful sunshine and wind so washing outside on line and airers to make the most of it. Makes up for the rain yesterday. We had a nice trip into town and neither boys needed new shoes which was a nice surprise though I know I need to budget for new ones soon.
This morning I am pottering about, have added even more stuff to the clothes piles to be got rid of. Boys are happily playing so I am getting on.
I am going to my friend's mum's funeral this afternoon which I am nervous about as I will be going on my own and haven't done that before - I get very emotional. All I can think of is my friend and how she will bear up today. One of my close friends is having the children at hers and they are having a movie session so they will be happy there.

hi all
aldi voucher in tomorrows sun newspaper - paper costs 40p
I think its a fiver off a £40 spend, only used my last one last week from the mirror paper - bonus!!!
I have work today, and its late one. I finish at 10pm tonight, not the best shift ever. I keep looking for another job, but they are hard to find and we seem to have more and more people coming in asking if we have any vacancies.... so we will see what happens. Have had to make a stand and refuse to work any more extra shifts, as it is I am over 45 hours a week although I am contracted for just 18.
Why is it the yellow ball is high in the sky and then as soon as I peg the washing out, its starts to rain - only a quick shower so I left the stuff on the line. I pretended it wasn't raining.
well must get on, take care all xBSC member 137

SQ how very brave of you.
Congratulations to all the people celebrating and MrsL have a great time, I'm so jealous
I'm having one of those bad times on Eb@y at the minute. Lots of people saying item hasn't turned up or it's not what I thought so I want a refund but don't want to send it back................
I can't believe all these people have had their items go missing as when I have said I will check with their sorting office they suddenly turn up.
Do you think people have less morals or that they are typing into a computer and not facing a Mother of four with a disabled husband trying to make ends meet so they see you as a buisness or someone who can afford to lose the money?
It has really got me down today. We all hear about helping yourself and not sitting on your @ss and I have done that, I really have worked my butt of juggling and today I think why???
I could sit at home, order loads of stuff and say "didn't come not paying" you don't even get a polite message. It goes in circles and I know I could go months without any problems again.
Can't wait till booty season when they don't want to pay 10p for anything :rotfl:
Going to pop down the lottie even if it's to sit moaping (sp) in the greenhouse and not do anything
